An ndependent label wouldn’t be able to market records all over the would. This is why Roxette Records use EMI to bring records to the stores.

I think Pietro’s right... record stores won’t even order more than one or two copies of an independent release on the assumption that if it was a record that was going to sell well, the artist would be signed to a major label... in a way, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy: no records ordered = no records to sell!
