Breathe - new song

There´s an article in Metro (Thx Lissie!) that says:

“Roxette release a new compilation album

Roxette´s coming compilatin album, “the ballad hits”, will include new
recorded songs. Per and Marie have recorded the songs A thing about you and
Breathe for the album, that is released on 4th November.
An EP with 4 songs, 3 of them new, comes together with the first edition of
the album. A thing about you will be released as a single on 14th october.
The ballad hits will be followed by The pop hits, which will be out next
spring.”

The article can be found in the PDF version of the newspaper at http://www.metro.se/content/acrobat/stockholm/SESTO_20020813_A_Metro.pdf

Thanx very much. Breathe - that’s a great title. And the album will be called “the ballad hits” instead of “roxette’s greatest hits: the ballads”? Good to have a shorter title. Always wondered how they would call the other album. Now I hope for some Marie-written material on the EP.

Maybe it’s a cover from The Prodigy
:-DDDDDDDD

It looks like we have an answer for why there’s an EP instead of just 6 new songs on each compilation... they’re hoping the fans will run out and buy the first edition up to ensure they get the EP, because it seems later editions won’t have the EP... I don’t care, 10 to 12 new Roxette songs in six months ROCKS!

I think this is a good idea now.... i agree... 12 new songs (+ and with b-sides it can be 14)....

but it said that there will be 3 new songs on the EP and one new..... (the article in metro)

but 12 new song, it’s like room service....

well..for that they could have released a full album and that´s all.. anyway..

@Judith: They may not have much of a choice in the matter... you know that “Retrospective” collection the Indigo Girls released a few years ago? They had no choice in the matter, their record company wanted another compilation (they had one called “4.5” in 1995, which had NO new material on it) AND they wanted new, exclusive material on it so that fans who bought “4.5” would buy this one, too... they weren’t given a choice in the matter, and I think that’s probably their biggest reason for wanting to leave Epic and go indie... anyway, the artists don’t always have control over these things.

This song isn’t that new. If you go to www.bmi.com, under Per Gessle as songwriter you’ll find this song listed as one of his ones.

I just dare to shot which of those ones are going to be there, too..maybe “Ghost in the house”, and a Marie’s contribution...probably something danceable...remember that song that could be released in RS “Do you wanna go with me?”.

To pop hits...maybe that “Loud clothes” sound rocky, or maybe something like “Stupid”...

Check there and try yours...

@tinytim: No, “Breathe” was not one of the songs listed on the BMI site... it’s come out of nowhere.

I clearly remember of this song in bmi.com. Maybe somebody decided to take it away...who knows...maybe coz bmi.com supplies you with the number of the song...a clue to some of those Napster-born hackers that steal songs lot before their release...???
