If EMI can’t...WE CAN!!!
I don’t know if anybody knows that bon jovi has started for their new album a TEAM that are promoting them around the world. This team are made from Fans..It’s very simple..all we have to do is to help people to kno them better and give them all the visibilities they deserve.Play their music where people can listen..talk to firen about them...in party it works good!!...Put banner on you site that reffer to a page that you can listen songs..CALL RADIO STATION..even if its not new stuff...don’t care about that...antyhing that is possible and does in respectable way...will be consider!!....IF EMI DOES NOT PROMOTE...LET’S GET ALL TOGETHER AND PROMOTE..i already start by making a party and play a lot of them...it works..by asking dj to play song in discotheque..where it is possible...People has to know they’re still alive and it’s to us to do something....!!!! It’s liek changing the world...HOW WE CAN!!!...Everything is good...
One thing...If you like them...Why ddoes you neighbord wouldn’t love them...?? It will be our philosophic sentence for this mission!!!!

I was one of the promoters for Roxette with the NorthAmeriFans. I contacted the radio stations here in Utah, worked with a couple of other fans making fliers and stuff to post around town, but after a while, all was for naught. The radio station with the most airplay for WICF turned to an all 80s station back in October of 2000, so that killed it right there, (subsequently, they’re back to their original format, but still lean heavily on 80s music).
NorthAmeriFans was headed up by Lars-Erik Olson, me, and a couple of others. Wished it worked, but American culture preferred (prefers) BSB, NSYNC, Brittany Spears and so on down the line...

American culture prefers boybands, Britney, etc. because that’s what they are brainwashed to like. It’s all about money, not necessarily talent. Therefore, record companies control the music market with their “product.” So an act like Britney Spears appeals to many young girls and other people as well because she is put out there and marketed in such a way.
And sadly, it’s not about having good music - and that’s why Roxette didn’t/don’t stand much of a chance in the US, simply because radio programmers don’t wish to give “good” music a chance because it’s all about what’s hot right now and who has the most money.
In any case, it’s always worth another shot. But, I also think “Stars” should have been considered for the US market after “Wish I Could Fly.” But the project was dropped so fast, yet it’s understandable if nothing much was happening. Hell, I didn’t even know Roxette was still around till I heard “Wish I Could Fly” on an American radio station here - and that’s why I’m here today. So, even though it did little on a whole, it did make a few new fans and create some recognition.

Misteryman: All noble efforts and they are great in theory. Rox fans attemptted somthing of this nature a few years ago for Roxette’s attempt to recapture the American music market.
A web site was created listing hundreds of Radio stations and their contact details. A real concerted effort was made into contacting them en masse.
Dispite all this great planning and effort, we failed.
You can bring news of releases to the music buying public’s attention, but you can’t alter their taste in music or buying habits.
