You’re kidding, right? Well, Roxette has released what... 35 or so singles so far... and not one of them has been a cover. I seriously doubt they would start now. I think they have too much integrity for that.

Apart from that, they never tried this before so I guess one day they´ll do it... why not now, sales can´t be worse... *g*

And also, we all know they appreciate their idols very much, remember the cover versions during “MTV´s Unplugged” in 1993 or the ones during the “Crash!Boom!Bang!” world tour in 1994-95... “Help” at Abbey Road in 1995... and now Per´s cover versions of Ramones tracks...

I know those songs do exist, but neither Elvis nor The Straycats had that much influence on Roxette´s music - but Tom Petty had... so *if* it is a cover I´d bet on the Tom Petty track. ;-)

The Tom Petty song (album: Hard Promises) is pure american rock. That´s completely different from what Roxette is doing. It´s not their style.
The title is just a coincidence.
