@frodi: I think thomas is kind of realistic.... we just can’t expect more than 3 new songs on each compilation, let’s face the facts.... And I would be totally amazed if they released such a big thing as tro in English.
No matter what i AM buying both CD coz i am a fan, I just think we won’t get what we all dream of this time. It is not supposed to be a pesimistic vision though :)
frodi said on July 31, 2002 14:24:
I know that. But that only shows that some of us had wrong when we said that Roxette wasn’t a commercial band.
C’ ya!

I think it rather has to do with the changes inside EMI. Releasing sth totally ne Per and Marie wouldn’t get enough attention/promotion anyway.... while this thing might be cool for NOTP thing as well :) To refresh people’s memory - sort of :o)

Ummmmm... I got a couple of questions here. If these are supposed to be greatest hits CD’s why would they include album tracks? Second of all... why would they include “I wanna be your boyfriend” which wasn’t a Roxette song?
carbon_boy said on August 1, 2002 06:51:
The traclkisting Thomas made up is VERY unrealistic. Since when can album tracks and B-sides become GREATEST HITS? Let’s face it, it’ll be sumthing like this:
Roxette’s Greatest Hits: “The Ballads”
1. A Thing About You **
2. **
3. Listen to your heart
4. It Must Have Been Love
5. Fading like a flower
6. Spending my time
7. (Do you get) Excited? [maybe, seeing that it wasnt officially released as a single]
8. Queen of Rain
9.Almost Unreal
10. Crash! Boom! Bang!
11. Vulnerable
12. You don’t understand me
13. I dont wanna get hurt
14. Un dia sin ti
15. Wish I could fly
16. Anyone
17. Salvation
18. Milk & Toast & Honey
Did I leave anything out? (THANX ALCHEMISTE)
Roxette’s Greatest Hits: “The Rockers!”
1. **
2. **
3. The Look
4. Dressed for success
5. Dangerous
6. Joyride
7. The Big L
8. Church of your heart
9. How do you do!
10. Fingertips
11. Sleeping in my car
12. Fireworks
13. Run to you
14. June Afternoon
15. She doesnt live here anymore
16. Crush on you / Pay the price [and this is a HUGE maybe!]
17. The centre of the heart
18. Real Sugar
** = New Tracks
PS: these are just the songs that I believe will be on the albums, nothing more, nothing less. They might swap the listing around a bit - but who knows? Who cares? We’ll still buy it...right?
Cheers

For starters - I never said that they would release the tracks I chose - they are MY PERSONAL choices - i.e. what I would love to see.
Secondly - why would they include the tracks that were included in the previous Greatest Hits - i.e. June Afternoon, You Don’t Understand Me, I Don’t Wanna Get Hurt & She Doesn’t Live Here Anymore - would be a bit pointless really.
Also - I took inspiration from the Spanish ballads album where NON singles etc were included.
Thanks.

@thomas c
Since DBU-GTTC! is out of print, I bet they make the songs available somehow. “You Don´t Understand Me” will definitely be on the compilation; “I Don´t Want To Get Hurt” is a good guess, but if it´s not on the album I´d expect it to appear as a bonus track on one of the singles at least. Well, of course that´s just what I expect to happen...

Thomasc: hello?! You bloody-well named your discussion: “The tracklistings for the new compilations!!” And then you get upset cos we put up our tracklistings? Jeez, dude - whats up ur a$$?
The tracklisting for the 2 cd’s will OBVIOUSLY be single orientated, seeing that they’ve deleted the ORIGINAL Dont Bore Us....which means (and let me put this in simple English for you): NO MORE DON’T BORE US GREATEST HITS IN SHOPS!!! Therefore the tracklisting I put up here. Makes sense.
And btw, why NOT June Afternoon or She Doesnt Live Here Anymore? They were singles, werent they? And bloody good ones as well - 2 of my alltime fave rox songs!
But then again, whatever.....who gives, I just want the new trax.....got the old ones already...and yes, I WILL be buying it!
Cheers
PS: I hope to God that Karl-Magnus designs the sleeves for both cd’s.....

Okay, this is a dream, and I don’t think they’d ever go for it but...
GREATEST HITS: THE BALLADS
1 Crash! Boom! Bang! (Long version)
2 Anyone (Video edit)
- attached to CBB; where track no 1 ends you’d hear the waves of Anyone in the background
3 Spending My Time
4 Do You Get Excited?
- some sort of new version with a piano introduction :-)
5 Listen To Your Heart (the shortest version they could ever come up with)
6 Milk And Toast And Honey
- again the great waves for the starters, attached to track #5
7 Wish I Could Fly
- I just love this song so I wonder if they could stretch it a bit more... to something like 5.5 mins... :-)
8 A Thing About You
9 You Don’t Understand Me (extended version)
- with a cool ending with just the percussion changing to the intro drumming of..
10 It Must Have Been Love
11 Fading Like A Flower (Every Time You Leave)
- is there a non-fade-out version out there? :-)
12 What’s She Like?
13 New Song
14 Things Will Never Be The Same
- a bit more acoustic (studio) version
15 Vulnerable
16 Salvation
17 New Song
18 Watercolours In The Rain
- how about an actual rain in the end?
19 Queen Of Rain
- attached to Watercolours

Hey Animalkingdom- love the idea of Do You Get Excited with Piano intro! Would be cool.
Oh - Carbon Boy - sorry if it sounded as tho I was being an a$$. Didnt mean to come accross that way, I was merely making my own opinions.
Thomas :)

Animalkingdom, I like your ideas and tracklisting! Very cool. ;)
But again, we all pretty much know it will just be the singles released.
frodi said on July 31, 2002 14:11:
Yeah, sure, the problem is that nearly every roxer already have the old songs. That means that we need to pay at least 30 Euro - problaby is 40 a more right guess! For eight tracks!! Divided in four on each cd.
No, the better solotuion is to release the record Roxette talked about - the one that, accorning to Per, would sounds like a mix of the classic Rox-sound and something that reminds of Heavy metal. Or wait one year or two and release a whole album with honour.
Cuz if they release something like this I will download the new stuff. No offense to you thomasc, you made a great list.
C’ ya!
