Andrew - you’d better ICQ me first - I can help you to make mp3s from such protected CDs :)
Some time ago I got a Special Edition of Nightwish new album (that one with 3 bonus tracks) - it also can’t be played on PC, but... can :)

i love laundry service!!!
and btw, nowadays copying programmes can be so advanced that they wuold even break a padlock on a cd, if it was used as a protection :-D

I love Laundry Service too!
So I ordered mine from the USA, cause the one they are selling there is not copy-protected and can be played with computers as well. I bought it from http://www.djangos.com - it was damn cheap there.

why do you think so? Because she looks good? I am not attracted anyway :) I like her voice and the lyrics! :)

I have all her albums; the Spanish ones, especially “Dónde están los ladrones?” really rock! It’s better than Laundry Service.

Here (Bulgaria) we also have Laundry Service unplayable on PC/MAC. (but I don’t like Shakira that much, and I’m not going to buy it...even if it wasn’t ’copy-protected’)

to the problem with the protection code:
i’ve got some albums with such protection
and you can’t even hear them in a normal cd-player!!
but you can play these cd’s on PC! isn’t it wierd??

Yesterday found a CD that my computer cannot read at all!
Found a shop which offers special CDs for selling in CIS only (Sony/Epic). That’s a great release compared to some shitty copies with License number around on the sleeve. The sleeve has removed booklet and all CDs look the same (as brounish with just title on it).
The CD itself is manufactured perfectly! The cost is about 5$
So I bought Shakira’s “Laundry Service” and Sarah Connor album (gee, forgot the name).
The first has a definite round stamp in Russian “Will not play on Cd-ROM PC/MAC). Was true...
P.S. I loved to listen to MP3s :)
