OT: Birka, the soundtrack ?

I have a tape with ’Birka, the soundtrack’. Seems that it is a Swedish soundtrack, because the titles of the tracks are in Swedish and I recieved it from a Swede (I lost the address of that person, so I cannot ask her), but I don’t know a thing about it, can someone help me? The tracklist is:
1. Birka
2. Svartur jordur
3. Mitt Långskepp
4. Vidar Galens Lögn
5. Birka Lever
6. Två Dagar Kvar
7. Roddartankar
(as far as I know)
So, my questions are:
1. Who composed the music?
2. What do ’Långskepp’ and ’Roddartankar’ mean?
3. What’s the film like? Is it popular in Sweden?

Thaks for your reply! I haven’t heard about these things. But is there any film, called ’Birka’?As far as I remember one of Astrid Lindgren’s characters is also Birka (correct me if I’m wrong) - from the book Ronja rövardotter...

Sorry, I don’t live in Stockholm anymore. I have looked for it for you on the internet but haven’t found any film with that name. Maybe some Swede living in Sweden can help you more than me.

When I saw the title of this topic, I started laughing, cause ’birka’ means ’sheep’ in Hungarian :-))) It’s such a funny word...

“Långskepp” is “Longship” (Not Longsheep, Pietro!! :-P). In fact I think is the ancient wood ships vikings used to navigate.

Birka is a place in an island called Björkö (literally Björkö means “Island of birches”). It was the first Swedish town ever, from the year 1000 or so. It was the first “group of Vikings” that decided to make a town I think, well, I’m not so good at Swedish history.
Anyway, it’s a place you can visit, it’s an hour away from Stockholm, by boat. It’s in a lake called Mälaren (they one that’s also in Stockholm), they have archeological places and show you the most important things there. I was there last year, was kind of nice and also it was hot!! (Yeah, in Central Sweden!!).
You can catch the boat from a dock between Riddarholmen and the Railway station “Stockholm Central”.
