THRENODY, what's the story?

Yes, Per wrote the music to Dorothy’s poem, and gave Frida the song. Phil Collins produced it.

yup...and if you search the net on Dorothy Parker, it comes up with a writer who died in the 60’s...strange!

haha..so funny
btw, there is a poem called Threnody written by Dorothy Parker, it goes like this:
THRENODY
Lilacs blossom just as sweet
Now my heart is shattered.
If I bowled it down the street,
Who’s to say it mattered?
If there’s one that rode away
What would I be missing?
Lips that taste of tears, they say,
Are the best for kissing.
Eyes that watch the morning star
Seem a little brighter;
Arms held out to darkness are
Usually whiter.
Shall I bar the strolling guest,
Bind my brow with willow,
When, they say, the empty breast
Is the softer pillow?
That a heart falls tinkling down,
Never think it ceases.
Every likely lad in town
Gathers up the pieces.
If there’s one gone whistling by
Would I let it grieve me?
Let him wonder if I lie;
Let him half believe me.
does that mean, Per just wrote the music for this poem...?

The lyrics are the same (poem and song). The song is released on Gyllene Tider’s album “Puls”, the 1990 re-issue (cd).
There is also a version that is sung by Frida (or the other woman from ABBA, Agnetha), and that version has also been released on one of her solo-albums. Can’t remember the name but I recall that the cover of that album is pink with her face on it.
Music is written by Per, for sure. But I can’t find info about the lyrics in the booklet.

Suddenly I remember the name of Frida’s album that contains Threnody. It’s called “Something’s going on”, it was her first solo album.
Cheers!

There is a song on BMI, called THRENODY, co-written by some woman called Dorothy Parker…does anyone know about it?
