Is Roxette getting boring?

I´m the only who thinks that Roxette has lost all the beauty of their first three albums. I think both Room Service and Have a nice day are only a shadow of what Roxette was some years ago. There isn´t any Crash boom bang or Joyride no more. Please tell me I´m not the only one!. By the way, sorry about my poor English.

@diego:You’re not the only one, don’t worry.I also think they’re missing the magic they had a few years ago.

@little-miss-sorrow: no, you‘re not alone!
I think there will be a new time for Roxette with new fresh music.. hope so...

By the way, the only album I heard of Per Gessle (the world according to Gessle) is fantastic, in the same line of quality of their fist albums. I don´t know why but It seems Per has lost the illusion to make greats songs!

bbrox, I hope so, I hope the next album will raise them to the levels of excellence of the past

I don’t think they’re getting boring at all. Just look the Stars videoclip :-P... And “Crush on you” or “Real Sugar” are boring? Would a boring band record a videoclip in such a hotel as they did with the centre of the heart?
Anyway, I still prefer Gyllene Tider (the latest songs), like most Swedes...

well, I think Roxette still has their magic on Milk And Toast And Honey

They’re getting a little bit boring. I find it hard to listen to the whole Room Service album, there are some stand out songs, but theres also alot of duds which I cant stand.
Im hoping Per gets back to what Roxette are good at, making an album full of guitar melody driven, foot taping catchy songs.
And not try to mix Roxette up with the whole dance sound, which I think hasnt really worked at all.

Has Lost Their Magical Touch?? Definetley NO my friend!!, I think U’re the one Who Has Changed A lot!!!, C’mon Guys..Can’t u just enjoy their latest albums??, They’re still fantastic!!

deja vu.... there’s a lot of people thinking roxette lost something....... so there must be really something missing in the late roxette.....
joyrider_br said on July 13, 2002 06:20:
wow....Finally! I thought I was the only fan who did not enjoy roxette’s last albums! They started to “change”and this change destroyed roxette’s type of sound (guitars, acoustic guitars, tambourine....that was great in rox) Crash Boom Bang was the best! I loved the guitars in this album! And Why Per make great songs only in his solo career?? Why roxette’s fans can not listen to “adult pop” as he says...? (I love “T-t-take it”...). To me a song that is the most “roxetteish” is “It will take a long time” This song is great...
Ah...I love Gyllene Tider!

I must admit there’re some changes at the music arrangements,The Instruments’ sound, technoloigies they’re using to, Marie’s Voice power.., but it’s all not the main substances, The Idea,Lyrics, Melodies, Chords, Songs Improve., basically are still quite powerfulld,d’U want me to give the examples? just listen to WICF, TCOTH, MATAH, Anyone,Salvation, and So on.. They’re all very Nice songs &were big hits! &i still can give u many others if u want me to;),
let me tell u now..The Biggest change is on their Marketing &Promoting Management!!, This one is really getting boring! they should improved it a lot much better, Soon!, or many other good songs will soon just floop.. what a shame..we all don’t want it , do we???
*Music = roxette* keep that alive...
so ..i hope it’s all clear now definetely NOT their magical Touch which has lost!!

Sure they´re not as big as 10 years ago but HAND is my all-time favorite Roxette album.
And I don´t like The World According... album very much.
Ballads are what they´re BEST at.
I´m glad MATAH is such a big radio hit.

I can Spend Hours enjoying TWATG as much as the rest of rox’s related album, HAND!
Markuz said on July 14, 2002 00:16:
Well, yeah, they are getting boring. As I’ve said before, they’ve lost their uniqueness. Gosh, they sound like 5IVE and the Spice Girls now...
christian said on July 14, 2002 11:09:
Roxette boring??
No, no, no.
When I heard 1 or 2 days nothing from them, iàm so happy when I hear one song of them.
In my mind, when roxette bores you, you are no right fan.
You can compare it with football. When your team don‘t win in this time you are just cry for your team.
WE ARE NOT BAYERN MUNICH!!
Fans always support their group or team.
christian said on July 14, 2002 11:15:
To all, who think rox are boring:
You are the first, who will say ooooh again no new album.
@To Markuz: Rox sound like Spice girls???
How can you tell this?
Roxette stands for high quality pop-rock music (see the last songs “Jeffersson and Real Sugar).
The Spice girls are a plastic pop band.
I please you, compare Marie‘s voice with the voices of the Spice girls...
No compare.
Marie has a great voice. The Spice girls a tenny voice.

I do think Roxette’s earlier songs were more interesting than the more recent ones. And I am not talking solely about the music. I think the lyrics were deeper on the Tourism album than on the RS album. I don’t agree that it all results out of Roxette’s wish to adjust to the trend. It is possible to adjust to the trend without losing one’s strong points. It could be that they changed their own attitude to music or that they changed themselves.
