DVD ISM- sucks
rox74ever said on June 30, 2002 14:58:
Hello!!! i guess this would not matter to you if you are not brazilian
well.. i bought the DVD version and i think it sucks!!
well.. my has brazilian subtitle, but i was listening to the music with the subtitles on and the translations suck!! well... not only that but they add ” extra lyrics” Eg. marie says one frase.. and they translate very bad that frase, and add extra cheesy words... why would they do that for??
And when per is signing autographs and they are saying something... you can see a japanes, or chinese writting then a big black line cover all that... pretty much covering 1/3 of the imagine..
well... im sorry... but that really upset me..

see this is an example of fans being milked for all they are worth by greedy people ...alot of it has to do with misinformation thanks to the fact roxette has a poorly backed fanclub
i eamil people i see bidding on them on ebay and warn them all the time
pietROxette said on June 30, 2002 19:51:
I just read what was written on www.dvdbrazil.com
What sucks still can be official.
The All Videos Ever... DVD is pretty crappy... saying “Main Meny” instead of “Main Menu”
And you can’t doubt it’s official.
Ferdan said on June 30, 2002 23:58:
Marie’s DVD also says Main meny....... so it’s a little bit strange....
ulrikalanner said on July 1, 2002 08:50:
Could be a mix between swedish and english maybe.. “meny” is swedish for menu. But I agree, it´s strange.
kibkalo said on July 1, 2002 11:22:
rox74ever - can’t you make a 30sec cut from any video scene in MPEG2 from DVD? Coz I have now plans to upload my rip of Live-ISM Laser Disk to Roxbytes (as I did with Sweden Live) - so I just want to compare quality and if DVDBrazil is better then I don’t want to upload again when get it.
So waiting for your (or someone else :) help
pietROxette said on July 1, 2002 11:48:
Alex, you only uploaded 10 songs from Sweden Live, do you have the 3 remaining ones as well? I have a poor quality rip of the concert I got from Jens, but that one has 13 tracks.
Please let me know so I can link them.
tevensso (moderator) said on July 1, 2002 13:03:
The LD only contains 10 songs:
Dressed For Success
The Look
Cry
Joy of a Toy
Surrender
Neverending Love
Dance Away
Dangerous
Soul Deep
Listen To Your Heart
This has been shown twice on Swedish TV in 1988, but the only thing that differs is that the black and white footage on the LD is more extensive. What tracks do you have apart from these?
kibkalo said on July 1, 2002 13:30:
Thomas, what about that extra track with The Voice?
Andrew said that there is a hidden track on LD - is it on all LDs and if it is then how to play it?
pietROxette said on July 1, 2002 13:33:
So... if the LD has only 10 tracks... how come I have 13? I don’t know the original source of those files, I got them as mpeg files (in poor quality).
kibkalo said on July 1, 2002 13:36:
I think that was a TV translation and a VHS record of it. So in really cool quality we have only 10 tracks (perhaps will be 11 if Thomas will explain me about last “hidden” track) - but definitely no more videos in cool quality, so Pietro you may link it now.
And answer my e-mail question abot uploading ISM - do you need it?
pietROxette said on July 1, 2002 14:04:
E-mail question? I’m afraid I haven’t received any e-mails from you :-(
But about Live-ISM: yes, please upload it.
BTW, I checked out a couple of the Sweden Live videos you uploaded, but sometimes the audio and the video is out of sync. Neverending Love is, for example, completely out of sync, it seems that the video is somehow playing slower and misses some frames. The audio plays fine. I’ve tried it on two different computers, having DivX 5.02 installed on both of them, however, I had the same result.
Do you have any ideas?
Ferdan said on July 1, 2002 14:07:
if you upload it.... please.... don’t repair in size..... quality is all that matters :))))
kibkalo said on July 1, 2002 14:16:
OK, i’ll start uploaing today.
Fedran - I do like high quality videos, so you’ll have to download 1.5 GB to get a whole concert - but it is worth that! :)
Sweden Live was 1.4GB too - so you’ll need a fast PC to decode it.
Ferdan said on July 1, 2002 14:29:
mpeg or divx?
i wish there was a way to decode divx thru a mpeg card :((
kibkalo said on July 1, 2002 14:46:
Of course DivX - coz MPEG2 is too huge and MPEG1 frame size can’t be big and I encoded to DivX in 640 x 480 Sweden Live and in 704 x 528 Live ISM (as they were on LDs) with 2000-2500 kbps video rate and 160 kbps audio compression (48KHz)
As for decoder card - there are now DivX decoder cards, but better to upgrade your CPU I think.
AntiMario said on July 1, 2002 15:29:
Alex! How come rip is out of sync???????
Was that because NL splits on LD sides and there was video/audio frame missing?
I really hope that’s a convertation problem, not the fail of authentic rip.
Secret tarck, he-he, find a special LD Player, yeah, Thomas? ;)
kibkalo said on July 1, 2002 15:48:
Andrew, what track is unsync? are you sure? perhaps something went wrong when I made a cut from a single AVI.
And as for The Voice - isn’t it a joke? about a special LD Player? can you gimme a link on some info about such a specification.
rox74ever said on July 2, 2002 04:40:
@bibkalo:
im sorry but i dont have that program, and i have no idea how to do it!
rox74ever said on July 2, 2002 05:01:
i know this is not roxette’s fault... but maybe the people who translated wanted the translation to rhyme i guess.... but it is all good!!! Like i said before the translations sucked, here they are
some examples:
* like watercolors in the rain:
T: like colored rain drops
* “you better learn your lesson know”
T: Are you ready to dance
* “joyride”
T: horse back riding.
But like i said about the Black stripe covering the japanese writting IT IS warned (warning) right when the DVD starts... so i guess i cant complain about that, he?
PEACE everybody!!! =)
pietROxette said on July 2, 2002 05:54:
The rip appeared to be out of sync for me because my 800 MHz PIII with 512 MB memory seems to be slow to play continuously a 640*480 DivX file.
So this is why I’m now re-encoding what Alex has uploaded to video CD mpeg. Of course, quality will definitely decrease, however, older computers will be able tp play it as well. So on RoxBytes there will be two downloads: the DivX version for those having better computers and the mpeg for those with slower ones.
kibkalo said on July 2, 2002 10:41:
As for out of sync in DivX....
First run Media Player 6.4 (not 7 or 8) - search your program files and windows dir for mplayer2.exe
Then open an AVI in this Media Player.
Go to File/Properties/Advanced/DivX Decoder Filter Properties.
Set POSTPROCESSING level to minimum !!!
I won’t make quality worse coz I encoded it via two-pass 4.12 codec.
And by the way 5.xx codec is recomended only for new PCs. If you have an old PC want to use a normal 4.12 codec and still be able to play 5.x encoded videos, here is my solution:
Install DivX 4.12, install 5.xx, uninstall 5.xx, install 4.12
Seems to be stupid, but after these steps DivX 4.12 plays 5.xx encoded videos and is faster then 5.xx
pietROxette said on July 2, 2002 10:52:
Fuck, it works.
But how come it can only be set in WinMediaplayer 6.4? And in no other players? Werid!
kibkalo said on July 2, 2002 11:09:
Pietro - you are just to set it once in Media Player and then it works perfectly everywhere - that’s carppy DivX properties which are not accessible in other players
Ferdan said on July 2, 2002 11:48:
DivX/DivX/Codec/config.exe
Divx 5 has that program setup for quality settings..... dunno if it’s in 4.12
Ferdan said on July 3, 2002 21:41:
There’s something I don’t understand...
the divx versions look really “grainy” .... and for example mpeg version of Never ending love is 33mb.... and the divx version is 87mb.... and at least for me.... and i´m beginging to think that a 87mb mpeg of neverending love would look better than the divx version.... but i don’t know...... maybe i need a faster processor :(
pietROxette said on July 4, 2002 06:55:
No, it’s not broken. I’ve just checked, Listen To Your Heart downloads fine for me, just like the other files.
kibkalo said on July 4, 2002 06:58:
Pietro, I had to renemt mpg file - coz there was an error in filename. Now it’s identical to AVI’s name and works :)
AntiMario said on June 30, 2002 19:29:
coyboyusa was absolutely right.
So? Waitinhg for your word, Pietro (and others who defended that “official” DVD)
P.S. Alex, I hope you ripped Live-ISM much better :)
