*LIKE A PRAYER*

i hate this cover! Why when every “nobody” wants to have a hit just throws a madonnas hit in the mixer and does it? grrr...

It’s by Madhouse, it’s sucks. They have a new single out by know: another terrible cover.
vaxjoe said on June 24, 2002 17:02:
the thing is that maddy is always one step ahead...the rest of them can make covers of her songs that were hits like 15 years ago by her hehehe
Roxryder-V2002 said on June 24, 2002 19:48:
I think that the Madhouse remix is really awful, ’cause it’s like the song is going one way, and the rythm is sticked to it, they don’t match at all.
And the Kelly Osbourne’s Papa don’t preach is good, she sings better than i thought. This cover version gives a new vibe to the song, but withot breaking it into pieces.

kelly sang it at mtv video music awards this year - her daddy introduced her :)) nice family

I’ve heard some good covers, and some that totally sucked.
Decent / Good ones: Cher “Walking In Memphis”, Dolly Parton “Shine”, ZZTop “Viva Las Vegas”
Ones that should have been shot: UB40: “Red, Red Wine” (Irish Rasta? Whose doobie you been hitting off of???) “(I Can’t Help) Falling In Love With You”.
That last one’s been covered a few times. Depends. Now, the new Disney movie “Lilo & Stitch” has covers done to Elvis songs and a few others. Personally, I think those are good.

Madhouse remix -yes it doesn’t cost a dime, but remix will bring to them lots of dimes- it’s so wrong...
the honour to make Madonna’s cover first must be hardly well-earned!!

@ LittleSpooky - “UB40: “Red, Red Wine” (Irish Rasta? Whose doobie you been hitting off of???)” - Would you be so kind as to tell me what this means? I’m Irish!!! If it means you just genuinly hate the song I’d understand coz I hate every Irish band out there except The Corrs, B*witched & Bellefire!
I HATE ALL BOYBANDS!!!!!!
Just some general stats to prove how great irish music is:
The Corrs - 20 million record sales (I know, nothing to Roxette but Rox were a phenomon)
B*witched - first 4 singles enter the UK chart @ #1 (not even Spice Girls can manage that!)
Bellefire - debut album became the biggest selling album in Japanese history!!! - 3rd largest music industry in the world. It’s sold 1,300,000 copies or something there alone!!!
PS: Kelly’s version rox!!!
pietROxette said on June 25, 2002 13:09:
The Corrs somehow irritate me. Dunno why, they do.
B*Witched irritate me even more, plus they suck great deal.
Haven’t heard of the Bellefire, whoever they are and how much albums they’ve sold in Japan.
BUT
I love The Cranberries, they are great, I have everything from them. Also, I think U2 is one of the greatest bands in rock history.

thanks Pietro for link- i like it...
can someone tell us more about Kelly Osborne- something about her own music???

UB 40 rock! red red wine was one of their greatest hits and cant help falling in love cover was even better than the original!
but what do u expect from ppl who actually like dolly parton? ahahaha
freshold said on June 27, 2002 10:52:
yeah, the Cranberries and U2 are my kinda music too, though the Corrs are ok too. Irish music is very good imo. And the cover made by Bono and the Corrs of “Summer Wine” and “Where the stars go blue ” are just masterpiece !! I’m addicted to “Summer Wine” - just fantastic. :) And they performed it live without any prior rehearsals :) And I love “Stand by me ” by Bono and Bruce Springsteen - absolute magic in it :) “Knockin’ on heavens door” by Guns’n’Roses was ok. Gerri Halliwell ( or however you spelt it ) with “Raining men” was powerful. Besides Tori Amos covering Springsteen’s “I’m on fire” was magically mysterious. And “American Pie” by Madonna - well, in fact I enjoy both the cover and the original here :)) “Help” by Roxette is ok too. Well, I could go on, but must be back to work ;) cheers

Little Spooky ;-)
Cher “Walking In Memphis” is great! I don’t know where I first heard it, but I liked it a lot after watching one of the X-files episodes... (it was Season 5 I suppose...) :-)
Pietro!!!!
I also consider U2 one of the best rock-bands ever!!! & I like the Cranberries. “Ridiculous Thoughts” & “Zombie” are “wow”!!!

Yeah, that cover sucks. However, dunno if you have heard “Papa Don’t Preach” from Kelly Osborne, daughter of Ozzy Osborne. IT ROCKS! An excellent cover!
