WHY ARE MOST OF THE GUYS ON HERE GAY???

I was just wondering, why are most of the guys on here gay? My boyfriend showed me this site so I decided to check out the forums and after reading a few of the interesting one’s, I noticed that most of the guys were gay.

I don’t have anything against gay people since I am gay myself, but I’m wondering does this mean Roxette is gay music? And if Roxette is Gay music then maybe the one who writes the music is gay! Could Per Gessle be gay? I wonder... Those hair styles, that earing in the right ear, the silver ring on the right ring finger, the snazy outfits and the cute-ish face...

You decided for yourself and tell me what you think...

PG is defenitely not gay and me neither,so,not all rox-fans are gay ;) and i don’t have a problem with gay-people(for the one who missunderstood)my boss and my cousin are also gay and i really like them so....

Maybe Roxette is that kind of music that many gays like to listen to...?
Is PG gay... hmm.. I don’t know. Probably not, but I agree with you, his clothes and his whole outfit makes me sometimes think that he is gay :) But I don’t care about these kind of things, I love his music...!!!

I think it’s more because of Marie that there’s a big gay fan base...although, the way PG represents himself...makes me wonder, too!

What??? Not again! I’m so sick of this coming up! Memo to all: Per is NOT GAY!!! I actually don’t know how anyone could think that as nothing he’s ever done or written could lead to that conclusion. Yes, Rox may have some gay fans, but so do a lot of other bands. The idea that the songwriter must be gay for gays to like the music is truly ignorant! I’m not gay and I love music from many, many bands, including those with gays in them (like Andy Bell of Erasue and Marion of Alphaville). Come people... grow up!

per looks awful these days..... i hate his look. my mother says he looks like gay :). i don’t have anything againts gays...... but i’m not gay and i think it’s disgusting...

per’s not gay, he only looks like that. i dunno why :((( he could go back with clothes and hair style to cbb-twatg style.

OK I VE BEEN READING ALL THIS AND TRYING NOT TO ANSWER BUT I THINK I HAVE TO ANSWER CAUSE I READ SOME REALLY STUPID LINES

-NO PER AND MARIE ARENT GAY EVERYONE KNOWS THAT...AT LEAST ALL THEIR DEDICATED FANS KNOW IT

-ROXETTE ISNT GAY MUSIC IT JUST HAPPENS THAT GAY PPL LIKE POP MUSIC...WE LIKE ALSO MADONNA KYLIE ETC ETC ARTISTS THAT ARENT GAY BUT THEY ARE GAY FRIENDLY AS PPL AND ARTISTS THATS ALL

-CONCERNING THE CLOTHES AND STYLING EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT NOWADAYS STR8 AND GAY GUYS DRESS MORE AND MORE THE SAME AND I THINK THATS KEWL...AT LEAST IN EUROPE

-MYSELF AND MANY GAY PPL I KNOW LIKE BANDS THAT ARE ANYTHING BUT GAY ...LIKE HARD ROCK BANDS FOR EXAMPLE...AND VICE VERSA STR8 PPL LISTEN TO GAY ARTISTS...I DONT THINK MUSIC HAS THAT KIND OF BORDERS

@JACKEIL: WELL SORRY THAT PER HASNT ASKED YOUR AND YOUR MOTHERS OPINION ON HOW HES GOING TO DRESS AND WE REALLY DONT CARE WHAT YOUR MOM THINKS ABOUT PER
AND FINALLY U KNOW WHAT MAKES ME DISGUSTED???? THAT EVEN NOW IN THE 21ST CENTURY THERE ARE YOUNG PPL LIKE YOURSELF WHO BELIEVE THAT BEING GAY IS DISGUSTING...
THAT REALLY MAKES ME WANNA THROW UP!!!!!!

As far as I know Per is married and has a son, so what are you talking about.........

Well said, Vaxjoe!

agree

yeah, good point there! For those of you who still question Per’s sexual preferance, why not just ask Asa? I’m sure she will know:)

I’m not gay....

and if per or marie is it, that question could only be answered by themselves.... but I don’t think they are because both of them are married so.... and I don’t think that they should stay in heterosexuel relationships if they were gay....

Just to toss my .02 in on this discussion:

Not every culture has married folk wearing their wedding bands on their left hand. Nor the earring in the left ear.

I think Mr. Gessle has good taste in clothes. Either that, or his wife dresses him before he goes out. Relax.

As for why it seems like a large number of guys on here are gay? *shrugs* Maybe it’s because we’re an accepting lot and they feel comfortable in coming out of the closet to us. Who knows?

-Little Spooky

Don’t think that most guys here are gay. But the gays always talk about their sex on TDR. I always thought gays were more into disco than powerpop. I’m straight btw.

@headphones:
1_ Why did you think that most of fans are gay here.If you point “TO EVERYONE WHO...”, you are in a great mistake, because this topic is for people who love Per for his music but they think he is also a beautiful man.
I can’t find signs of gay people in other topics.Where did you find?

2_what kind of music is gay music?
Music ic music and sex is sex.I can’t find many relations between them.

3-As you said, you are not a fan of Roxette. So What will it solve for you to know about Per’s being gay or not?

4-I recommend you to forget this foolish discussion and listen to “The Look” , “Listen to your heart” , “Joyride” ,”Sleeping in my car” and other hits of Roxette to know their music well.

I don’t think that it really matters whether we are gay or not. The common bond between us all is Roxette.

I think that there are a lot more gay people in this world than what is thought I guess more like 20% as opposed to 10%, but on forums like TDR, people can be themselves and nopt have to worry about who or what they are.

in one big answer NO, what a suprise.ive been reading and i thought, got to say something. i think gay people reply alot more cos i think they like a good old bitch about things? thats my experience with gay guys anyhow.

First of all: No one said that it matters, if Roxette have a lot of gay fans. But I think it must be possible that we can talk about this and about the possible reasons for that. If your not interessted in this topic, you shouldn’t replay to it instead of writing comments like “who is interessted in this?”

Roxette was always more a “girls-group” not so much than for example Take That or BSB, but they always had more female than male fans. Girl-bands like Take that only have a few male fans and most of them are gay - With Roxette it’s not so extrem, but it goes in the same direction.
Roxette have a lot of heterosexual female fans and a lot of gay male & female fans and they only have some heterosexual male fans. - It’s something that I recognized and like I said before it’s not bad or good, it’s just a fact.

What I think is funny, is that most (not all) of the heterosexual female fans admire Per, most of the lesbian fans admire Marie, but most of the gay male fans don’t admire Per, they also admire Marie (it’s the same with Madonna, Kylie,...)

I think it’s ridiculous to speculate about Per’s sexuality. We all know that he’s married and has a son.

I don’t understand why artists should be gay, just because some of their fans are gay. It doesn’t make sense. I guess the majority of these people here loves Per’s and Marie’s music and not their personalities/looks.

PS: My grandmother thinks Per looks pretty heterosexual! You don’t care? Well, I don’t care either!

well, i’ve seen a lot of people that’s marrie and with children..... and IS gay... it happened a lot of times.

and anyway..... GAY people is annoying, they’re nice persons... but the ones that act like women are really annoying... and sometimes childish... (at least the ones i met in a fan club) really often. In my whole life i went just 2 times to a fan club meeting... and well, I really regret..... almost everyone was gay there!! but that didn’t bother me, what bothered me was the way they act... most of them didn’t act naturally... I don’t know why most of them were that way... i can’t understand why some of them can’t act like a male “person who likes males” and not copying the worst thing of girls.... the loud chat...

Anyway.... I sometimes think gay people oppresses themselves. I mean... WHAT IF PER IS GAY OR NOT?, who cares if someone thing is Per is gay.... is that really important in music? or art, or whatever... If Per were gay, would that be BAD?.. some people here is acting like if that were bad. Freddie Mercury was well known as gay.... and is 100 times more respected than Per... like it or not.... ,it’s just a real world example.

Anyway.... i hope you get my point. otherwise i´m gonna be flammed or something..

@vaxjoe : hey, take it easy :). i’m only saing what i think. i don’t have anything to gays, there are a lot of such people - and i like them and i respect them... but... try to think in other way, like most people do: you’re walking on the street with your girlfriend, and (you’re not gay) you see two men, they’re gays. and they’re starting to kissing... yes, i saw something like that, and yes, it was disgusting for me. sorry :(

another thing: my mother is always right :). ok, let people wear what they want. but pink shirt is a kind of mistake :). i know per is not gay. he only makes “normal” people think in such way. that’s the different story that “normal” means “almost everyone” ...

sorry vaxjoe if i hurt you. God made ppl and gave them free mind. but woman is meant for man, and that’s my opinion.

you’re walking on the street with your girlfriend, and (you’re not gay) you see two men, they’re gays. and they’re starting to kissing... yes, i saw something like that, and yes, it was disgusting for me. sorry :( ....

You’re walking with your girlfriend (maybe hand in hand). You see two people kissing, who most probably love each other the same way you feel for your girlfriend. You never met those two guys before, and chances are high you will never see them again. It’s disgusting for you....how intolerant can you be?

LOL inteolerant just isn’t a word I would use to describe such comments! Everyone has their own opinions - granted, and I respect that. But, there comes a line when what gets said is not opinion, but down-right rude.

Noone would dare say anything against any different race or colour nowadays, as that is totally wrong - and so it should be.

So, if you saw two gays kissing in the street - who cares, it has nothing to do with you. If it upsets you - then look somewhere else. But in the same respect don’t you even think about kissing in the street either, as some people straight or gay, may be upset by it!

Hey if you live by the knife - you too have to die by the knife. You can’t have it both ways! (in my opinion)

I also think questioning Per’s sexuality is plain ridiculous ( besides we had such thread looong before)
I believe it does NOT really matter who you love, and I think YOU should decide yourself who you want to spend your life with, guy or girl... Sadly it, is still too much of this damn stupid social pressure: woman+man=right man+man/woman+woman=wrong
I also think jackeill’s attitude is kind of rude and immature... by saying disgusting you have just discriminated gays!!! where is your sense of tollerance? They have the same right to love and show feelings, just like straight people do!
And, btw, pink shirts, i think they rock! and yes i am straight, even if I stand up for gays here.

OK people, here’s some food for thought...
If someone thinks two guys kissing is disgusting, that’s their own opinion, which they are certainly entitled to. But how on earth does that opinion make them intolerant? Now stay with me here. Intolerance would be if you went out and publically did something to hurt them because they were gay. In other words, the act itself may be offensive to you, but if do nothing bad to them, it’s simply NOT intolerance! If you really think about it, people who feel that homosexual acts are offensive or disgusting are actually practicing more self control and tolerance than those who don’t care one way or the other (as long as they don’t hurt those people). Think about it people!

Intolerance is a state your in…
Discrimination is an action you’re taking…

@PerFanatic : you’re right !

@StillFar & onlywhenidream: i’m not intolerant ! ppl realize that i can feel nauseous when i see such thing... let them do what they want - ok that’s their problem. you don’t get my point of view... sorry, PerFanatic almost got :) yes, this is all my own opinion, caused by my culture, faith, family... as i said before - i’ve got NOTHING against gays! i think only you are too much confused because of this topic - you’re gay - ok. i’m not and i understand you and your point of view. i’d be like you when smoebody told me that he feels disgusted just because i’m kissing my girl... though it’s “more normal” ....

okay, okay, okay...

so, how many more “gays” & not “normal” people has got to go through ruthless discrimination before the so-called norm could finally be broken down & de-toxified?

are we not past the era of post modernism, where all that was seen as normal had been de-naturalized? posing the question what is normal, and how far would one go to “other” people from yourself... and this othering aspect is very present in the writings above... words such as , “gays” & “normal people” (to mention only a few) are clear indicators of a mindset i thought was extinct...

...ferdan, you were spot on! Marriage does not necessarily buy you a one-way ticket to heterosexual bliss, instead its (often) a “back to Ricky Martin Village” ticket...

so how’s Per & Marie’s sexuality relevant to us? Is it only our way to relate/differ to them? (in this case it very relevant; it’s a vital entity to gender construction of an individual) Or do we have reasons to doubt the public image they portray? Which brings me to another point; can any of us say that he/she knows PG or MF? Are our ICONS or IDOLS not mere constructs of our imaginations combined with the Media’s view? Do we want to know the ins & outs (the most intimate details) of our ICONS? Is it fair on them?

Ferdan & Jackeill; ever considered that your behavior might seems repulsive to others? Don’t think for one second that your heterosexuality gives you right to be an moral advocate

i believe there is nothing wrong with playing musical chairs with your sexuality (and sexual expression), i believe in a equal say for all, i believe in dignity for all & i believe in Rock & Roll

BTW Jackeill, you might want to re-think your sexuality, Sweetie! It’s a known fact that gay men & their mothers are rather close... and judging by you premises for heterosexuality as the way God intended it to be, dear, that getting a bit tired now (try and be more creative when convincing me!)

thath enough from me now... love to all (yes even to you Jackeill & Ferdan)!

I didn’t want to say anything harmful ok!? i just tell you what i’ve seen in the fan meeting...

@purplemedusa : do you suggest that if i’m close with my mother i’d be gay ? heh, Sweetie, i still live with my parents, i’m 18, so if i want or not i know my parents’ opinions...

@jackeill:listen little boy u CANT REALLY hurt me with your words...maybe annoy me..yes...but certainly not hurt me...i ve been earning my living since i was 17 and i was alone...and oops u re 18 living at your parents house overprotected behind a shield and u think u can judge everyone....well u better stop it!!!

u keep saying “oh i dont have any problem with gays THEY JUST MAKE ME SICK”
OBVIOUSLY U HAVENT CONVINCED ANYONE IN HERE! MAYBE U SHOULD START BY CONVINCING YOURSELF FIRST!

Im sure that ur mom is a nice person but noone really cares about her opinion on fashion and noone is always right..

as for u im fed up watching u writing the same stupid things on how u dont have a problem with gay ppl, they re just disgusting...

and some ppl like pink shirts ARE nice sorry they didnt call u first to ask ur opinion as a fashion consultant and a moral advocate u are

***im happy this topic was posted cause now we found out some really interesting aspects of some ppls minds and souls

@purplemedusa:mate im impressed by the way u write and the way u think, i fell in love with ur mind, keep on posting :-)

*lol* jackeill is a he, I suppose :)

some people really can’t stand that they’re gays :). vaxjoe you’re too stupid too understand me... i’m not saying about what you’re saying...

this part about my mother: i mentioned it just to show that even people who are out of roxette and music world are thinking that per looks like gay.

i don’t care, vaxjoe stop that stupid discussion it won’t go any further, we won’t find solution just because you’re too stupid to realise that different peoples could have different minds. stop flaming me - i don’t flame on you ! you’re intolerant... i accept your opinions and i post here mine... MORE RESPECT to ppl who think in other way than you !

who cares about that when you were 17 you were alone ? i’m still going to school, i’m learning and this is my parents’ duty to assure me home and the best conditions they can make...

i don’t know how old you are, but i think that’s good for you vaxjoe to come back to your mummy and ask her if ppl could have another point of view.

did i say that wearing pink shirt is something bad ? did i said that ppl with pink shirts should be killed ? vaxjoe shut up i... can’t listen you anymore. i said i don’t like pink shirts. that’s all. is there a thing you don’t like ? of course there is. did i flame on you just because of this ?

****NOT GONNA LOOK UP THIS TOPIC AGAIN****

vaxjoe if you want you can send me an email :)

@gyllene_tjej: yes, i don’t care about vaxjoe :) maybe gays see girl in everyone ? :P

@jackeill: U ARE NOT IN A POSITION TO GIVE ME ANY ADVICE AND CALL ME STOOPID...

U RE AN IGNORANT BOY WHOSE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS WHAT TO WEAR OR WHAT OTHER PPL WEAR

U SAY U DONT FLAME ME AND YET U CALL ME STUPID ETC ETC

ITS ABOUT TIME U SHUT UP AND NO IM NOT GONNA SEND U ANY BLOODY EMAIL CAUSE U RE NOTHING TO ME...

AS FOR THE “INTOLERANT” NOW U FOUND OUT A NEW WORD U RE USING IT AGAINST ME...

NOW GO RUN TO UR MUMMY OR PLAY WITH UR DOLLS WHILE THE REST OF THE WORLD HAS MORE IMPORTANT MATTERS TO SOLVE

This wasn’t a forum for the Queens to come and defend their sexuality... (BTW queens was a joke)

All I wanted to know is who is GAY and who is STRAIGHT.... My interest was merely in the prevalence of homosexuals on TDR.

I agree with some of you that it is hard to tell if PG is gay or not... BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT I ASKED...

I asked if you thought he was... Come now, anyone can get married even I have been with girls before...That does not mean you can’t be gay.

Oooh... lover boy is trying to pull this forum together... charming!

Headphones, certain things should be said. I have no time for somebody who sits on their hands (what would they be doing there in the first place?) and let people walk all over what has been achieved already.

BTW... the term “Queen” is aceptable if it comes from within the gay community... I do not think you should throw such terms around loosely around straight boys & girls. It will only lead to further ignorance & defeat the purpose of reconsiliation...

@ FERDAN... I was only using you as an example... no hard feelings?
@ Jackeill... If the shoe fits...

YES YES YES!!! Men are meant for men!!!! :)

Women are meant for sweet stalker!!! ;)

ok just realized that jackeill is a boy...i hadnt bothered to notice his i.d but from the nickname and the way he writes i assumed hes a girl...now after i found out im starting to believe that he may be gay....too femenine attitude to be str8 *roflmao*

aaaaaaahahahahhahahahahahahaaaaa the boy whos attached to his mommy hahahaha these ppl really make me sick and feeling sorry blah

1. I hate caps-lock. People who use it underestimate it: it’s offensive!

2. The link between the gay-fans and Per being gay is just a weird thought. But it’s bullshit...
It’s a bit like Vaxjoe said: not only gay-people like to wear great clothes; we hetero’s like to look good as well and some of us are really into the fashionable stuff (but not into handbags, lol).

3. I think it’s great that there is room for a discussion like this. I like what has been said about intolerance. My opinion: if we all tolerate everything the world will become a terrible place to live. Sometimes it’s not good to tolerate everything, so nobody can say that people should be tolerant in general.
But respect is another thing. Everyone should respect everyone else. Especially when the other person is different, respect is a good attitude: it keeps a discussion possible. We don’t have to agree on everything, but we can learn a lot about a lot if we listen to eachothers opinions!

4. Do gay-people have to have respect for hetero’s who think gay-sex is bad, dirty or anything like that? I dunno. They could at least try to understand that it might be some sort of xenophobia: they think it is strange and revulting and that is why they reject it in general?

5. It is becoming philosofy now: I’d better quit.

;)

Homosexuality is not a sickness,
But homophobia is curable!!

I just would to add that I´m gay too.

I think that my gayness causes my enthusiasm for Roxette...but that is a very thinking...

I have to say I like Per but I am not really attracted by him...I guess most of the gay guys here feel the same about him....

I don´t really care about Pers sexuality, but think about: Who would write the line “true love might come from behind” (M&T&H demo)???

vaxjoe, echiete dhikjo
hmmm.... i guess that the discussion about religion and politics would be hot too ;)
i like all people, except for two-faced ones

@freshold:thank u... i dont really want to talk bout politics and religion cause then we all gonna end up having fights hahaha :-)

but concerning this topic im happy to see that most ppl understand and are friendly towards us! bad old days are so over ;-)

LOL! Man, this is freaking hilarious! Basically, the people that are saying that others should be more tolerant of the gay lifestyle (vaxjoe, purplemedusa, etc.) are the ones that are completely intolerant of others’ opinions and feelings. Talk about your irony! Let me attempt to educate you people a bit (no, the liberal brainwashing you received at Berkeley or other leftist institution does NOT count as “education”). I’d venture to say that most of the people who think of the gay lifestyle as disgusting/immoral/wrong do so because their religion refers to the act as a mortal sin. However, most of these religions also teach that tolerance is a very important part of a person’s character. Translation: it’s perfectly fine to think of the act of homosexuality as a sin, but you should also practice tolerance and not strike out and hurt those who practice it. From what I’ve read, that pretty much covers everyone who has taken this side in this forum. So, vaxjoe and purplemedusa, you guys need to wake up and realize that there’s nothing wrong with believing in a religion that is “against” this lifestyle, as long as those people hold up the other end and go out and “gay bash” or other such things. The idea that those with these beliefs are uneducated or ignorant is simply ludicrous! So please, I think you are the ones that need to open your minds…

@perfanatic: first of all what berckley? do u think most of us live in the states? most of us live in europe which is more liberal than ur country...and noone b4 said anything about religion and homosexuality so u re out of subject and more over u certainly cant educate me since what u say is irrelavant with what has been previously written...as for the tolerance i ve been working in the night many years and that can certainly teach u how to have tolerance to every “special” person

cheers ;-)

...”do what you want... but hurt nobody”; this conversation only started

1. Homophobia does not always lead to an action. I thought PerFanatic explained quite well the difference between an opinion and behaviour?
Thoughts are free, but some acts can be forbidden, because they hurt people.

2. Why do people belief in a God Who gives His love unconditional to everybody? Did you never hear about the Ten Commandments? Do you have any idea why Jesus had to pay with His blood for the ones who believe in Him?
It looks like PurpleMedusa believes that God is only nice things and that Hell does not exist. In my opinion that is such a dumb way of believing. If you took the effort to read a bit in the Bible, you would find out that God wanted to whipe out the human race because people were all sinners!
And if you would like to read more: also read ABOUT the Bible: it’s not written by sexually frustrated, drunk monks in the dark ages!

3. Maybe I did not understand you exactly, but if I did: see above.

@ perfanatic: *people who think of the gay lifestyle as disgusting/immoral/wrong do so because their religion refers to the act as a mortal sin.* That is simply ridiculous. People use that as an argument and have no idea about their own religion.
People like damn-stupid-should-have-never-been-president George Bush are responsible for Homophobia. As long as we still have people in power brainwashing people, ignoring facts or changing facts, the public will not change.

But who cares? Certainly not you! Because you are not growing up dealing with all the s*it gay kids and teenagers have to deal with.

Working for a “coming out” group here in Montreal I’ve seen many young adults suffering great pain. Some of them have been beaten, kicked out of there home…
Others just never really fit in, lived an isolated life for many years. You know, people don’t have to get physically active to hurt someone.

We don’t choose to be gay or hetero…it’s the life we’ve been given. You’re asking me to tolerate your opinion…how can I?

It’s my world that I want to have a little pride in, my world and it’s not a place I have to hide in

Well, well, well… I expected to get flamed for my last post, but I had hoped that those flames would at least consist of some intelligent banter, not just name-calling. Well, nonetheless, I will attempt a response, even though it will probably be a bit beyond your realm of understanding.

@vaxjoe – Berkeley is one of the US’s most liberal colleges. It’s located close to San Francisco in the Bay Area in California (big surprise, huh?). I am well aware that most people in this forum are from Europe, not the US, but I thought that Berkeley was well known around the world… my bad. Yes, Europe as a whole may be more liberal than the US as a whole, but trust me, we certainly have more than our share of ultra liberal areas in this country (San Francisco, Seattle, Hawaii, etc). So religion is “irrelevant” to the issue of homosexuality, huh? Man, what planet are you from? Like I said, with a few minor exceptions, most people’s opinions against the homosexual lifestyle are based on their religion. Everyone who is remotely religious or has read and understood the Bible understands this. Please, wake up and realize this fact. Spouting such nonsense just makes you look silly. Oh, can you please explain your “working in the night” reference? How does working in the night make you tolerant? (maybe that’s some gay lingo that I’m not quite familiar with?)

@Stillfar – why is that simply ridiculous? Pretty much everyone under the sun knows that (except you and vaxjoe, I guess). People use that as an argument because it’s true. Again, like your buddy vaxjoe, making statements that are factually incorrect just make you look stupid. Please refrain from insulting our President! He’s the best thing that’s happened to this country since our best ever President, Ronald Reagan. Please, keep you and your liberal nonsense well north of our borders! Oh, how can GW be responsible for “homophobia”? That’s yet another ridiculous comment. Oh, and by the way, do you actually know what homophobia is? It’s the fear of homosexual’s. I seriously doubt that there are many people in the world who are truly “afraid” of them, so please think a bit before you chose your terminology in the future. I am sorry for anyone who has to incur undue hardship, but do you think homosexuals are the only ones that experience hardship in their lives? Come on now, you can’t be serious. Many people have to overcome a lot more than others’ opinions of their sexual preference, and you don’t hear them whining about it , do you? Again, how many times do I have to say that I do NOT condone abuse of any kind towards anyone, homosexuals included. That’s the mistake that most people like you always make… the people that perpetrate violence against your kind are pieces of crap. They are most likely uneducated and therefore chose violence to express their opinions. This is sad but true, but those people make up a very small percentage of those that are against the gay lifestyle. So please, do not group everyone else with them. They are the exception, not the rule!

@perfanatic:u can simply FUCK OFF ! u re so full of shit! just a stuck up republican who believes gays should be burnt in hell...go to hell and eat shit...and ur bloody president is a piece of smelly cunt!
goodbye and good riddens!

perfanatic:u should be called just “fanatic” because your way of writing betrays your character...look i cant really be bothered to explain to such a shallow person -who believes in crap like “gay is a sin its in the bible lallallala”- and that his president is the best -that was the ultimate proof of how tragically blindly prejudiced u are...u cant really annoy me i just laugh and yawn to ur always “out of subject gone with the wind replies” and quite honestly i dont give a fuck bout u and ur rusty ideas...and from now on im just going to ignore your replies...
bye forever

ps:i throw right back at u your “stupid” remarks and please go get some class

Well well well, the dirt-throw-competition is open now!
And please do not argue about the question who has started it....

I wonder why people need all those bad words to express their intentions?

@PerFanatic

Experience hardship: I didn’t say that homosexuals are the only ones to experience hardship in their lives, but nice try to change what’s been said. Anyway, that’s not the point. Point is they shouldn’t suffer at all. If we would all be a bit more conscious of what we say and who the person next to us is.

Bush: I believe that he’s one of the best thing your country ever had, for others he’s the best terrorist since... but let’s got to the facts. Here are some ridiculous issues your president is supporting. Check the internet to find more…I couldn’t be bothered.

Military service? Bush supports the right to military service for all qualified people–as long as they don’t tell anyone they’re gay.
Marriage? A right every heterosexual in US America already has. But again, Bush thinks it should be out-of-bounds for gays.
What else is there? The right to privacy? Nuh-huh. Bush supports a gays-only sodomy law in his own state that criminalizes consensual sex in private between two homosexuals.

This is the guy who wants to bring the world freedom and democracy. Criminalize consensual sex in private between two homosexuals! Then there are people like you listening to that bulls*it and feel confirmed in their point of view.

About religion. Maybe I would accept this argument coming from Ferdan or tinytim, but PerFanatic, your country isn’t very religious. So many young people in your country are contra gay…and if you are honest, you know that these people aren’t church-goers and don’t know much about the bible so don’t come with that. And if you do, you should know that sex in every form has a productive purpose (according to the bible)…are you feeling guilty when making out with your gf for pleasure? Isn’t it a sin? Are you allowed to use a condom? Is she allowed the use the pill? Are you allowed to masturbate?

But now we come to the most interesting part. Female heterosexuals have less problems with homosexual males, than heterosexual males have with homosexual males. Furthermore, heterosexual females are more likely to experience a homosexual act than heterosexual males…to top that, one fantasy commonly shared and experienced by heterosexual males is to have a sexual encounter with two females. Which brings me back to homophobia… it’s a fear, an insecurity!

I have the right to walk on the street and kiss my boyfriend as much as you have it. You’re disgusted by it? For me that’s more a sign of a rather poor education than anything else.

Finally we are at the point, where in many countries homosexual couples receive the rights they deserve, are allowed to marry and in some countries are even allowed to adopt children. Finally some people realized that they’ve been wrong for many years….and you know what…one day this will include the USA…may take a while until US government understands HUMAN rights…but it will happen!

@ vaxjoe & kixboy

Yours were the typical liberal responses I’ve come to expect from you left-wing, everything-is-OK-no-matter-what types. Here’s a little tip for you, if you want to have an educated, civilized discussion on this issue, then please, try backing up your statements with a little bit of fact. To simply respond by using profanity shows how truly uneducated you are. I can appreciate a good argument, but all I’m getting from you guys is this bleeding heart, whining liberal nonsense. Try educating yourself on an issue... I garuntee you’ll get more people to listen.

@ stillfar
at least you showed some ability to respond in a civilized manner. Some of your facts are a bit off, but I’ll take care of that later...

Bye for now...

Anyone else care to join this frenzy?

@republicanfanatic:all i have for u is pity...carry on spreading your rusty ideas that noone cares for, carry on leading your boring life, carry on supporting your “middle ages” party....cant be bothered about u - u re too far away to get me down and thank god i dont have to deal with stuckups like u who think they are the cleverest most educated assholes ever!!! u keep on making me laugh like a caricatoure of a man that u are....
if it were in your hand u would shoot all gay and liberal ppl but guess what! IT ISNT! your times over! c u...NOT!

i’m not gay, why did you say most of boys here were gay ? i love girls and girls love me.

I dont follow with much interest the politics of Bush or any other country, but I am amazed to read stillfar’s response on Bush’s policies on gay people. I will defly check this out for myself, but isnt it funny how people do not realize that homosexuality is here to stay? No amount of rules, policies or threat of persecution will make it disappear.

Another point: Hasnt homosexuality existed throughout history? Didnt the greek soldiers often have boys to fulfil their desires? Didnt the japanese have places where they could have sex with boys masquerading as women? (if I am wrong on this point, please let me know, but I did read this someplace.)

If I am correct, most homosexual people in the world do not seek to threaten the world order. all they want to do is to live life, work and come home to a loving partner. Isnt that what all of us want? i think the basis of homophobia, especially for men, is that if they meet a gay guy, lets say in a pub setting, is that this gay dude is going to proposition to them. and that threatens the straight guy’s sexuality, since he is the one who is sposed to be in control, and the dominant one. in a homosexual relationship, the lines of who is dominant and who is “submissive” is blurred a little (in a heterosexual relationship, the man is usually dominant). a straight guy propositioned by a gay one may feel like he is being driven into a submissive position and he doesnt like that at all. this is a personal observation of someone I know, who freely admitted that he is disgusted by and “scared of” homosexuals.

I think most people who are “homophobic” are of the wrong opinion that gay people would want to sleep with everyone of the same sex. gay people are not sex hungry, they are just ordinary people like us who want the things all of us want, a stable life style. if you think about it in this way, perhaps it might be easier to accept.

of course everyone is entitled to their opinions, and if you are disgusted by the sight of a guy kissing a guy, well that is your right. but if you go and tie up a poor helpless gay student and hit him until he dies, then you are a murderer. personally i believe that homosexuality is a state of mind, and is not a disease or something that can be cured. if i was gay i would be shit scared to “come out” since society thinks so evilly of homosexuals. but if i found a support group, then it will give me strength. u see what i mean? homosexuals are forced into segregation. just like every other instance of prejudice in the world since time immemorial. there was a time when being a christian was a punishable by death offence, when being black meant persecution, and being a woman meant you were not allowed jobs, or any sort of equal rights. As for religion and homosexuality, im sure i do not need to remind everyone of the crisis that the catholic church is going through.

freedom means you can do whatever you want, but dont encroach on another’s right to the same freedom. do what you want but harm no one, yes?

Well Kachina, thank you very much for bringing this discussion back to the subject, away from the personal things!
And I think I agree with almost everything you said:
amen!

Hey Kachina,

You make some good points, especially in your last paragraph. It’s what I’ve trying to convince some of these people of for days now. Just because you don’t agree with the gay lifestyle, or are “disgusted” by the thought of 2 guys together, does not make you a hateful bad person. Everyone IS entitled to their opinion, whether it’s based on religion or not. However, like you said, if you go out and beat the crap out of a gay person, then you should be severely punished.
The trouble is, people like vaxjoe, etc. don’t see any difference between people who are morally against the gay lifestyle and those few morons who go out and gay bash. They group them all together and that is an ignorant thing to do. I’ve never physically hurt anyone in my life... ever, and I don’t plan to unless it’s to protect myself or someone else. People, there is a HUGE difference here and that’s all I’ve been trying to get across. Unfortunately, some poeple in this forum just refuse to listen to other points of view.

Oh, and about GW... don’t believe word for word what was written bashing our President. Yes, his religious beliefs do look upon the gay lifestyle as sinful, but he has strongly supported the severe punishment of those who perpatrate violence against gays. And about marriage... from what I know, his stance there has been that a true “Marriage” is defined as a legal union between a man and a woman. That’s straight forward enough, don’t you think? If gays want to enter into a kind of commitment, that’s their perogative... just call it something else.

That was your attempt to explain me that my argumentation was a bit off????

PerFanatic:
Marion of Alphaville is gay??? I had no idea. They has some great songs.

Kachina, that was great! Thanks. I´m gay but never wanted to be! :)

I think this forum went way past my original intensions. I have read through all the posted messages and some people have brought up some very sensitive issues and said some very radical things.

Lets remember that we all have one thing in common that we are Roxette fans. I think that should be proof enough that our sexuality is not who we are... You are not just a GAY or a STRAIGHT... You are not just a GUY or a GIRL... Everyone is a person with likes and dislikes, different personalities and talents.

We are not our sexual preference or our gender!!!

Lets all try to show some respect for others beliefs and sexual preferences...

I started this forum to find out how many members were gay and if you thought Per was gay or not... SIMPLE very SIMPLE....

Doesn’t look like people like to stick to the point... t least we all got our say... Hey!!!

:-)

@ Stormkeeper - yup, he sure is. Alphaville has certainly put out some great material over their long carreer. Of course, everyone knows Big in Japan and Forever Young, but I think their best CD overall is “Prostitute”. If you haven’t heard it, you’ve owe it to yourself to go out and get it... it’s simply one of the best works available.

@ headphones - Yes, I agree! The problem here is that some people are way too sensitive, to the point of trying to change what other’s beliefs are.

Once again, if everyone were brainwashed to think the same way about everything, this would be a pretty damn boring (and pathetic) world.

Yes, whoever said that Christains (along with other groups) have been persicuted in the past is correct. Unfortunately, now Christains are again being chastised for their beliefs, just because they’re not in line with all of this “politically correct” crap!

I don’t see any relation here.... One of my best friend (male) loves Roxette as much as I do and he isn’t gay, so...
And no, Per isn’t gay! He is married, he has children... We live in 2002, there’s no need to go hiding your sexual identity, no more! Maybe some people did in the past, but things are quite different now, don’t you think?
And another question: why when a boy is sensitive and loves poetry or beauty he’s always referred as “gay”???? That’s crazy!

Perfanatic;
“The trouble is, people like vaxjoe, etc. don’t see any difference between people who are morally against the gay lifestyle and those few morons who go out and gay bash.”

Who mentioned anything about gay bashing? The big issue is that many heterosexual potatoes here, seems to be thinking its okay to use their “moral values” as an excuse to raise them as morally superior.

Yes, I have a problem with people/ religion using religious grounds to degrade the so-called homosexual lifestyle. Not only do I have a problem with this mindset, I am actively involved in changing such narrow perspectives.

At the same time I feel truly sorry for those who believe in a God that see the homosexual lifestyle as unnatural and as a “mortal sin”, or any other kind of Love. That god must be ignorant to love, then.

Ronney;
“…that God is only nice things and that Hell does not exist…”

Surely believing in a Goddess of unconditional love cannot be all that bad. Why would God be creating a Hell if he stood for unconditional Love? Does that not seem contradicting to you?

Religion & Politics & Sex(lots of it!) … this conversation is just getting better&better!

BTW… I wonder when they would expose GW as a pedophile? (Well, he’s gotto top Clinton. Figured he’d do it with little boys.)

Headphones - “We are not our sexual preference or our gender!!!”

Think again! The matter is far more complicated than you think!!

@purplemedusa:
you don’t seem to understand me.

I wrote that I did NOT believe in a God of unconditional love. So to me it is very logical that there is a place for people who want to be without Him. That place is what I call Hell.

It might feel great to believe in a Goddes of unconditional love. But since when do feelings proof you right? I say: if you wanna believe in God, try to get to know Him better and read the Bible. Don’t create a god-image that suits you. In that way you just believe in something that just exists inside your brain.
I’d rather believe in a God Who is real.
That’s all.

I can’t believe this, I thought those kind of arguments died decades ago... I think most of the problems in this world come from people who believe they are on God’s better side and it’s their role to “educate” the others...

I guess that’s one of the reasons I chose to be an atheist (and straight, but that’s besides the point).

Another thing, I wouldn’t judge entire countries based on what some guy somewhere said...

quote 1:”I can’t believe this”
quote 2:”I guess that’s one of the reasons I chose to be an atheist”

Perfanatic: you have raised some interesting points. the entire problem lies i think (as someone said), with the people in the population who think its their political, moral and spiritual right to make other ppl believe what they do. my argument is, go ahead and call a gay union something else, but just dont criminalize it.

as for my earlier post, i attempted to bring the discussion down to earth, but personally i take “homophobia” or disgust or whatever you wanna call it at the same level as prejudice, whatever kind you can think of. to each his own u know? as the free world, there are some things that you just cannot ignore anymore. sure there should be limits to just how MUCH we should tolerate, but who sets these limits? society? government? it scares me to think that the government would set the rules. anyone read ” the handmaiden’s tale” ? and society’s limits and rules arent always perfect, like i mentioned, the prejudice against christians, women and black people. dont forget the native americans, east indians, and indonesians. and think about all the crimes that have been done due to society’s prejudice.

as for religion, i believe very strongly in your own path to God. I think it is really important to read religiuos books extensively, then making your own conclusions and believing what you want to believe.

Think about it tho: some people find it disgusting that a man and woman kiss in public, such things are still taboo in asian cultures (which i come from).

purplemedusa, intriguing thoughts! we should talk some more.

I’m not Gay, that’s for sure!

KiX

:]

aarrr my browser is screwed....

Ronney: “Believe” is a turn that can be referred to many situations, not only God. While I never believed in “Him”, I believed people have evolved since the dark ages. But I guess not everyone...

In the beginning I pretty much agreed with all the straight people here (it’s legitimate to feel disgusted when you see gay people kiss, you can’t change the way you feel), but turning it into a political / religious debate? what gives you the right to decide which God really exists, if he does?

Trust me I’ve been forced to study the bible sometimes up to 5 lessons a week for 10 years, so I know what it’s all about... You’re right about some points (the people who wrote it were very much against sodomy), but also against a lot of other things people still do. It’s not your place to correct the problems. If “God” wants, he’ll overflow the earth again... But until he calls you up to build the boat, you can’t really know :o)

btw: there are MANY religions in the world...

nice points artstgirl :)

my joke with the quote was ofcourse just for fun. thanks for you reaction anyway.
I usually put my opinion in a way that makes people want to respond.
The thing is that I wonder why people like to believe in a God that they make up. Ofcourse it is impossible to get a complete idea of God by just the Bible. But if you only believe what you wanna believe... than we’re talking about a different religion.
And for the people who do not believe in God: I consider that as a ’believe’ as well. It is not possible to give a scientific proof of the existence of a God. It is just as hard to proof the opposite.

But beyond all that, we are living together on the same planet. And we are all equal, we all have equal rights! Nobody can forbid things that do not harm anybody. But anybody can give his opinion, because giving an opinion should not be a harm as well...
In my opinion the God of the Bible does not forbid homosexuality. He does forbid sodomy as where it stands for sex without love, with as many people as you like. But I cannot forbid that!
To me the Bible is not clear about homosexuality. Do the things the Bible says about relations apply to homo-relations? It might!
So when I am not sure about it, I should not judge anybody!
To be honest: I feel sorry for a lot of gay people, for they live in a society where they are a minority that has a lot to endure. Shame on the society for that!

But then again, talking about equal rights and gays;
in my opinion -I study Law, that says a lot about my point of view in this matter- marriage should only be for a woman and a man. Because they can reproduce themselves and build a family. It is al about the definitions...
In Holland anyone can marry and anyone can get a “registered partnership”. A mess...
In Sweden only hetero’s can marry and only homo’s can get a “registered partnership”!!
That is a brilliant, clear system. Nobody talks about discrimination!
What do you think about that?

Strange.....”So when I am not sure about it, I should not judge anybody!”......Ronney, that is just the problem. God him/herself says that if you judge, you will be judged. You made it quite clear that if you knew more about the Bible and the Xtian religion then you would be able to judge.....but then again if you knew more about God then you wouldnt judge AT ALL!
We are not allowed to judge people who drink, murder, rape, steal, screw around or sleep with the same sex. If we even consider it we have broken 1 of the most important rules of the Xtian religion.

And another thing: God Himself says that if we have followed his ways - eventhough we are not of his religion (i.e didnt know of the Xtian religion), we will also be awarded everlasting life. Further more, the Bible states in Corinthians (somewhere) that God has sent Christ to die for our sins so that the murderers, thieves and even HOMOSEXUALS will be awarded with everlasting life.

But what this string has proven is that not even our fave band can unite us to live in peace with eachother’s differences. Homophobia and hate for gay people are well alive in RoxWorld. And to think, I always thought that at least on THIS forum 1 could be 1self. And let me just remind those of you who have said some nasty things about gay people that Marie Dimberg is a proud lesbian and that Marie was suppose to perform at a Gay& Lesbian Pride concert.

And no, why should we not have gay movements, or pride festivals, etc? Is it not the same thing as the black movements, or feminist movements, etc? And they’re not bad or evil. So why is it that gay movements are seen as an abomination?! Even by people who DONT believe in the christian religion! The reality is that people are scared of the unknown - thats why their attitudes change completely towards gay people when they make friends with them.

So, to all the hetero’s out there who discriminate against homosexuals: please read and follow the movie clip links on the string called: >HEADPHONES

OK, there is no “Gay Look” you can’t tell a person is gay by the way they look, thats called being Judegmental (and who likes being thought of as that?). Pink is NOT a Gay color. rather people associate it with girls, so if thats true and if its a gay color is true, then wouldn’t that make girls who like pink gay??? Thats being stereotypical. Just because there are those who are scared of those who are different because they dont’ understand them doesn’t make it right to say they’re disgusting or what they’re doing is morally wrong. Tell me this, are witches wrong? are they devil worshippers? if you say yes, then i feel sorry for you. Are Gays people like Heterosexuals? the answer is yes, they have the same rights as us, now unfortunately some biased lawmakers don’t see it that way, and i feel bad for them, they’re missing out on meeting some truly wonderful people. Roxette is Roxette is Roxette no matter which way you look at it. Per Gessle is straight per gessle is straight per gessle is straight no matter which way you look at it. Same with Marie. There is no such thing as Gay music, gay looks, gay colors. And as for Gay men being close to they’re mothers, that is NOT true, my Fiance is VERY close with his mother, and trust me i know for a fact he isnt’ gay. So please just stop the biased opinions on gay’s they’re people just like us, they deserve the same treatment as us, and continuing like this with all the bickering about what is gay and what isn’t wont help matters much.

~*The Babie*~

At long last someone is talking some sense. The last two comments were the best I have seen since the discussion began.

As for Purplemedusa or whatever he calls himself, you obviously don’t read anyone’s comments properly. I understand that most of the people on this website can’t speak English properly but still try to understand what people have written before replying and in-turn, missing the mark.

I look forward to reading further... and BTW go check out those clips that Carbon_boy has been on about... they are very Educational...

Yay my comment made sense!! and didn’t cause a war!!!:) *grins*
I am glad that you agree with them Headphones:)

ROXIE

Headphones, please, you got to explain this hostility towards me. And while you are doing that, do point out how I misread the messages. Clearly there’s some sort of misunderstanding. If the matter is personal (and I’m sure it is) please email me at; [email protected] ...
