SPUN

So since I’m press I got to get into the CineVegas Film festival. I was going to be in Vegas anyway this past weekend so I thought I might attened the premire of Spun by Jonas Akerlund. All the stars were there but Per and Marie were not. I even went to the after party and they weren’t there (it was rumored that they would be there). Well, I was paying close attention, listening for “Stupid” Roxette version but I never heard it in the movie. It must have been on someone’s car radio or something stupid and small like that. Remember “Runaway Bride”? Well that came shooting to mind. I watched the credits and they were in there but I never heard the song. The movie was great, I just wish Jonas could put that much creativity into a Roxette video. No wonder Per and Marie weren’t there, I think they would have missed their own song too! A good thing was when I went to the Forum shops in Ceaser’s Palace I got to play Dance Dance Revolution 7th mix which has Stonebridge’s version of Centre of the Heart. Pure Fun!

Oh you must be joking. Certainly there was some instance in the movie which put this Roxette song in a scene totally out of context to the lyrics. No sad alcoholics being carried out by their embarassed daughter with a wishful Richard Gere off in the near distance? “I was so lucky... you came by... and drug my drunk ass off this bar stool”. How more fitting can you get? ;)

There’ve been some small articles about the movie in the Swedish newspaper, no mentioning of Rox though but still interesting, heres 1 of them;

Maybe it was in the movie but EMI couldn’t agree a massive fee for the rights to use it so now its not there ;)
