A little information for all Roxette-fans which also like to hear another great band from Sweden!

New Ace Of Base album to be released in September
Copenhagen, May 31st, 2002 - In late September this year, Ace of Base are going to release their long awaited, yet to
be titled new studio album. The 1st single of the album is scheduled to hit European radio in July.
The multi-platinum act has a long-term recording contract with edel-mega records A/S, Copenhagen, a subsidiary of
Hamburg/Germany based edel music AG. edel is representing Ace of Base in the Nordic countries, while Ace of Base is
exclusively licensed to Polydor/Universal Music Germany for Europe and a number of other territories.
The new release will be the 4th studio album since the Ace of Base success story began in the early 90s. To date the band
has sold close to 30 million albums and 15 million singles around the globe. In 1999 the band released their last album,
’Singles Of The 90s’, a Best Of album capturing their outstanding success during that decade. During the last 2 years Jenny,
Jonas and Linn Berggren together with their friend and band member Ulf Ekberg have been working on their brand new
album in their home country Sweden. The album consists of 12 amazing new songs which have the magic of Ace Of Base
combined with the sound of today.
Jenny Berggren from Ace of Base says: “”It always takes time making albums. Good music is something that is made with a
lot of love, born with a bit of pain and received with a great joy. We are looking forward to this album”!
Freddie de Wall, Managing Director for edel-mega records Denmark: “We are very thrilled about the new album. We’ve got
a fantastic 1st single and are very excited about the launch of the album in September this year.
Tom Bohne from Polydor/Universal Music Germany, who were very much involved in the process of making the new
album: “We all think that this album is a fantastic one, which will bring back the band to Top of the Pops after 4 years
absence. It was a pleasure for us to work so close with all involved people, especially on the A&R side. The first single is set
to be a smash!”.

How can anyone “hate” AoB? They truly make great music. Granted, Per contains more musical genious, but he is the King and no one can be as good as him. Besides, as a true Rox fanatic, how can you hate anything from Sweden? (well, except maybe that 80% max marginal tax rate:))

I hate Ace of Base, too!!!!! Well, i don´t know why some people think that Roxette fans like AOB!!!!! The music is so bad. And they mean “WE ARE LIKE ABBA”!!!!
Roxette is the best - Fuck the Rest (especially Ace of Base)

I guess there is no direct connection between these topics and Roxette either. So maybe it’s not completely inappropriate to mention another band.
I just gave you this little information, because I noticed before that there a few AOB-fans in this forum. In the good old days when AOB had a message board on their homepage, Roxette were mentioned often, too.
If you feel provoked or bothered, I will apologize and give you the advice to ignore this little discussion ;).

i think you said the right words...not as ignorant as some other people here do often...
I personaly think that AoB made in former times great music,
but nowadays i don’t know if they can improve their
music...we’ll see soon, when the first single will be
released.

I think you should talk about AoB if you want to. I just wanted to say that I didn’t like them though. I always thought the woman was scary, such a deep voice and always sounding like she was singing through water.

I like a lot of Aca Of Base’s songs although they can’t deliver me the range of emotions that Roxette does. I followed the things surrounding AOB’s new album for quite a while and hope they’ll get their act together and get a proper promotion. And about AOB.I like some of their songs like “Experience Pearls”,”Strange ways”,”Beautiful life”
and “My Deja vu”.
I can’t understand your words about AOB.Some of you hate them and some of you love them.Isn’t there
something between these two opinions?
They have both good and bad songs.It’s not logical to hate all of their songs and also it’s strange to
like all of their bad songs.

I hate Ace of Base personally. i think that they have the total talent that Marie Fredriksson posseses in her little finger or what Per coughs-up in the morning.
Their music is dross.
The fact that they are releasing a new album is only good news for people who are likely to make money out of them.
But then again that is only my opinion, and everyone is welcome to like them if they so wish (hissss!) LOL
