Does Per need a new dictionary?

Since there are some discussions about RS right now, I wonder if you agree that the worst thing of the last album are the lyrics.
“Real sugar - I don’t wanna climb the walls”
“Jefferson got hit by a westbound truck / I guess that didn’t make him look like a million bucks”
“Monday was fine and I was on a high / Oh you thrilled me / I should be alright / But Friday I died when you killed me”
“You make my head go pop pop pop pop pop”
Am I too stupid to get the meaning or are these verses just ridiculous? Some lyrics of the older songs weren’t masterpieces either, but this time Per really suffered of a lack of ideas I think. While “Crush On You” was a kind of funny, these lyrics are just cheap.
Maybe he should start to write lyrics with Marie, because somehow her verses seem to be more mature (e.g. Waiting For The Rain)!? But once she said that she doesn’t like to write in English...

Besides that, this happens to be the same forum where everyone LOVES the new Kylie Minogue album.
The album that contains a song with at least 1200 times “la” in it. The other words that are used in this song are “can’t get you out of my head” and “every day, every night”.
So who needs a dictionary here??

And as for rox, Rox74ever is right...they always had songs with strange lyrics in it. And I guess it is one of the reasons I like rox. It’s the feeling of a typical rox song that attracts me...not especially their lyrics.

The fact is that Per always wrote boob pop lyrics, ’coz pop lyrix are boob at all. If you wanna something deep, look for solo albums of unknown artists. The pop succesful bands have the obligation of reaching many kinds of public in an age range, so they have to please everybody inside this range, artistically and comercially...
But really, Per’s lyrix are still funny as they’ve always been, but in a weaker way...they keep being Roxette but with as a pale shade...like if the songs were just sketches or written demos...who knows, huh? That songs on BMI.com that were posted here in a TDR new at least, had more interesting titles...I just wonder what’s under Ghost in the House, Tide Turn and others...what the hell are they doing now to don’t release them??? Well, first about the language/grammar thing. In case you haven’t noticed, this is an international forum, in which most of the members are not from the US. Let me explain this to you, as you are clearly mentally challenged. This means that English is NOT the primary language of most of these people. Yes, that’s right, many people can speak more than one language. So, instead of being critical of them, you should first concentrate on improving your English (yes, I counted a minimum of 7 grammar errors in your previous two posts), or even learning a few words in another language.
Oh, and where did you pull that “#158 on the charts” from? If you had any brains at all, you would know that even Roxette’s recent singles, which you’ve criticized heavily, have gone top 10 or higher in many countries throughout Europe and South America. So, please quit pulling this crap out of thin air, just to try and support your ludicrous posts.
Were you trying to be funny with that “Per at McDonald’s” rambling? I’m not sure if you were trying to be facetious (you might have to look that word up), or you’re just too ignorant to realize that Per is one of the most successful people in Sweden!
Oh, and a little more about Per’s lyrics… Since when have “intelligent” lyrics been a requirement for a good song? If you ask most people, they’ll say the key ingredients for a good song are melody, beat and arrangement. I’ve never heard of a song becoming a great hit based on only its lyrics. On the other hand, I can think of numerous songs that have no lyrical significance whatsoever that have become major hits around the world. Just take Kylie’s “Can’t get you out of my head”, for example. That was, by far, the most popular song of 2001. By comparison, Per’s lyrics seem brilliant!
So, the bottom line here is that I’ve backed up everything I’ve said with fact. You, on the other hand, are just throwing crap around that cannot be justified no matter how insane you may be.
So… who’s the loser here???

well, i think per is a good songwriter, it doenst matter if just roxette or even his solo thing or the lonely boys, i just love his songs.
they are so dirfferent from other songs, in melody and in lyrics.
per always try to write as good as he can, always. and i guess he did and do a great job. otherwise roxette wont come to the nokia night of the proms this year.
thats just my opinion, sorry for my english ;)

Seems like nowadays they are not one or the other, meaning nor one of those maxmartin factory bands nor a respected one...which is sad, cuz they could be if they wanted to.
Being successful always coming with No1 at Billboard doesn’t mean you are a great songwriter/composer.
