We all know England are going to win the world cup....so everyone else may as well go home now.
**last comment made with sarcasm.....anyone who just doesn’t get it....please don’t reply with a sense of humour failure and start a very silly football debate**
Anyway....to keep this topic releated......marie played football once....she turned out for her brothers team for charity....I think she scored too ;).....on the pitch that is. ;P
Ferdan said on May 27, 2002 13:59:
I only say...... poor Sweden!!, they’re between 2 big powers..., with really little chance :(
Vamos Argentina carajo! :)

At least Per was very interested in football when he was a kid... He even joined Leeds united´s fanclub, didn´t he ??!!?
freshold said on May 28, 2002 00:37:
Leeds United ! No wonder I supported them too ( not really knowing bout Per’s liking towards them )....it’s the second English club, after Liverpool, which I like. As for Japan/Korea event - I think that Portugal can go far....Korea will be very determined to go through as it’s their first time in the finals after 16 years....I already miss Oranje - no Holandia makes me blue :(( ....and Poland - ajjj, the first round and on their way back ;) though I’d be ecstatic if they went thru - freshold: be realistic :) ....the USA - is Lalas going to Asia ? cheers !
Rox-Argentina said on May 28, 2002 03:28:
According to you, who´s going to win the championship?
For me...well...with my nickname... what do you suppose?...eh?
Come on Bati gol!!!
Cheers and good luck!
Hey do you think Mr PG is going to Korea-Japan to see the championship. I don´t think so. He´s better things to do!!
Vixzter said on May 28, 2002 05:49:
Ferdan - I say poor England.....if we qualify for the next round it will be a bloody miracle......still if we don’t....Sweden will and then I can still watch the world cup ;) I always did like the colour yellow ;)
tinytim said on May 28, 2002 15:43:
Ferdan: Between two big powers? You mean Nigeria and England, right? Hehehe...after all, the coolest football of the world is played by those black little men from Africa...and it seems that there is a team in the world who can defeat Argentina in the “good-looking guy” aspect...just check Michael Owen, Shearer, Ince and Beckham...by the way, they are also mastered in the field, too...hehehe...good luck to you, platinos...
But anyway, I’ll support for Argentina, ’coz they’re from SA...I only hate Simeone...it seems that he was sent off from the supporting staff of some Planet of Apes episode.
I know some swede teams’names...maybe huh...Malmo, Djurgaden, Halmstad...just that...but not the rest like “United” “Sport Club” or something like that...too much time playing FIFA Soccer series...
I think that Per will attend to Sweden’s game by the T.V. He once said in Brazil that he does like to watch soccer (or football, whatever) games. But not to play.
Vixzter said on May 28, 2002 16:20:
Shearer and Ince?? ;) they haven’t played for years!!!
Anyway....it will be worth watching England just to see David Beckhams new haircut ;)....gotta love that guy....even if he does play for Manchester Utd.
tiny - can’t say I like Diego Simmeone either....but then I guesse thats another David Beckham thing ;)
felicity-brown said on May 28, 2002 20:29:

tinytim said on May 30, 2002 15:12:
Argentina...?
Seeing he latest new, you can notice reasons to “fear” Argentina...matches agains small japanese clubs (Tokio FC), elbow hits in the face (Argentina’s defender Ayala), Crespo with that Muppet face doing nothing, OK...
I’m angry with Argentia coz I read a new in ’Ole’ newspaper, doing jokes on the fact that Brazil lost several penalty kicks in the training...did they forget Palermo??
Vix...OK, Beckham is cute...but he’s nasty and a deaf, let’s agree...if you wanna a good looking player, go for Totti and Del Piero from Italy...but they’re also nasty and deaf...
Is there any brazilian player who calls your attention? (I think it’s hard). Pay attention to a young star, called Kaka. He plays in Sao Paulo FC, he’s 20 years, and it is the new girls’ bunny in Brazil. Girls also like Denilson and Vampeta. Well, you tell me (hahaha).
Ferdan said on May 30, 2002 15:33:
“Kaka” sounds like “poo” (caca) in spanish..
well.... Palermo is not in the world cup..... and Crespo? well... i don’t like him at all, I preffer Batistuta.

PerFanatic said on May 31, 2002 17:28:
Well of course they do... I thought everyone in Europe & South America lived and breathed soccer:) As a proud American, I hope the US team gets their butts kicked right out of the first round. That shouldn’t be too much to ask for considering their pathetic history. After so many horrible years of no success, you’d think they’d quit shoving it down our throats. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard this in the last decade... “Well, it looks like the Americans certainly have a great shot to make an impact in this World Cup.” Well, as we all know, that’s pure crap! Americans should stick to what we’re good at. Baseball, basketball & football... quit trying to pretend you’re a world power in soccer because it will never be true!!! Of course, I’m supporting Sweden too...

Ferdan, it’s really Kaká (or Cacah)...he’s a very skilled player...well, not a master, but he looks better than that brush-hair Aimar...haha...And...I don’t watch football to see their butts...I’m satisfied with mine. I watch it to see the female fans, specially the spanish and swedish ones...if Norway were in this cup, oh well...well, I watch to Argetina’s matches, also to see how Verón is looking more and more with BSB’s A.J.!! Hahaha!!
I will ask for sorry even before what I’ll say: But...Raúl..well he has a doubtful skill and he’s the nastiest player I ever saw in my life...he thinks he’s a white Pele

So, if Sweden either ties or beats Argentina, they’re in for sure, right? But, if they lose to ARG, ARG will have 6 pts meaning Sweden must hope for Nigeria to beat England (unlikely).
Let’s just hope the Swedes can at least pull off a tie against Argentina. It would be nice to see England and Sweden advance out of this group!

@ Rox-Argentina : How much did we pay to the Refeeres ? Well, my friend, not much more than you guys payed to Peru to win the World Cup in 1978 (What a shame!)... see, we are 4 TIMES World Cup champions... 4 TIMES!!!!!, so my team don’t need the refeeres (or drugs - Hello Don Diego) to win any match !! :) This brazilian team is one of the worst teams we ever had, but they respect their country and their people.
Anyway, let’s see what happen... By now I think that Italy, Spain or Germany will win the World Cup, they got the better teams !!! If Argentina beat Sweden, they’ll have good chances too (Sorin and Ortega are great players)
That’s all by now... and GO SWEDEN !!!!

Ferdan said on June 10, 2002 03:12:
A WC without brazil? no it’s impossible.... that’s why FIFA gives extra help to brazil..... puting brazil in the easiest group in the world cup.... and inventing penalties out of nothing.....
anyway... isn’t it sad england still depends on a result of someone else’s match to qualify? :)

As for this Brazil debate......I’ve never really seen what all the fuss is about them.....lets face it...they haven’t faced anyone with a real attack or defence yet.
Yashar said on June 10, 2002 09:12:
@onlywhenidream : He was Rivaldo not ronaldo.
@Ferdan:Fifa didn’t put them in an easy group. It was only lot and chance.
I agree: That penalty was not true, but that movement had equal chance of goal in compare with a penalty. There was only goal keeper in front of him.
Above all these, Alothough I like Brazil, but they are not as powerful as they were in 1994.
onlywhenidream said on June 10, 2002 11:21:

tinytim said on June 10, 2002 16:04:
Argentinians complain about Maradona’s block when he was entering Japan, Argentinians complain coz we are in an easier group, Argentinians complain when Ronaldo kicks their asses...Argentinians complain, complain, complain...
First of all, Rox Argentina, that penalty kick wasn’t paid...I agree with Yashar’s comment. I know Luizao, he played for Corinthians, my fave team, and he’s a killer..he wouldn’t lose that shot.
BTW, that was a very fair reward against that anti-fair atittude from the defender...as the chinese ones did with Ronaldo. And, just for finish...never, never in history, Brazil needed a ’mano de dios’ (hand of god) like your cocaine addicted main idol did. It’s strange how much you able this ’example’ to talk for your country...even considering that he was almost a bandit.
In 1990, Brazil’s left-defender Branco, said that he experienced bad physical sensations during the match of Brazil X Argentina, when Argentina put Brazil out. He said that Diego offered him a bottle with water. And since that, he felt like if he had drank a Valium or something.
Argentinians players are dirt, and excellent actors - they have technique and skill, but are FAKE!
The only decent argentinian player is out of this Cup, coz Bielsa is a perfect dumb - his name is Riquelme, a ballet dancer, a Gardel with kick shoes.
That’s all.
Vixzter said on June 10, 2002 16:54:
A very fair reward?? it wasn’t a penalty though was it, thats why the penalty box was invented....he was 2 yards outside.....so....freekick.
Just coz the guy pulled him back and it was unfair.....doesn’t make it a penalty...otherwise there would be penalties given for fouls all over the pitch.
Talking of penalties....did anyone see the one that Russia should have got against Japan??
Toda of Japan blatantly pulled the Russian guy over...then intercepted the cross and got away with it. Lucky sod!
BTW.....I’ve noticed that when it comes to football.....the Brazilians and Argentinians don’t like each other much. ;) that was just a general observation ;P
Ferdan said on June 10, 2002 20:19:
Well... it’s natural to have that kinda “relationship” if the 2 best teams in the world are so close geographically :)
“”In 1990, Brazil’s left-defender Branco, said that he experienced bad physical sensations during the match of Brazil X Argentina”“
just words..... it was really easy to prove, just a blood test.... but... why he didn’t do it?..
anyway, it’s the first time i heard about that.... and, sounds really stupid.
and about Riquelme, that is very true :( he should be in the team... he and Aimar can take a really good midfield and foward control of the ball.

3 - Uruguay / Argentina - 2 times
4 - England / France - 1 time
So... we’re number one !!! :) Only Italy and Germany can draw these numbers with us, and nothing but draw !!!
Brazil is the BEST team ever... We breath football ! :)
Vizxter, about the relationship beetwen Brazilians and Argentinians... well, it’s not that bad, we love Argentinians... they were always a great NUMBER TWO here in South America !!!! :)
Go Brazil - with our team, we will go... go home :(

PS: Rivaldo will move to Hollywood, after his amazing performance in the incident with the ball in the game against Turkey !! :) What an actor !! :)
Rox-Argentina said on June 11, 2002 04:22:
@ Tinytin, I just want to say that I agree with you about Maradona, for me HE IS NOT an idol, he is not God, he is a poor addictied to drugs, and I hope God take care of his poor soul. He WAS a good soccer player and thats all, simply HE WAS; now he´s a very poor human being. And more over I DON´T LIKE HIM, every time I see him on TV I automatically change the channel, cos I don´t stand himself as a model for young people. On the other hand I never heard about the story between Maradona and Branco and for me is just a lie.
But in the end what I want to tell you and to the rest of the people in this forum is that I recognize that argentinians have the fame of being conceited and to think that we are God. But don´t put everybody (the 36 millions of argentinians) in the same bag, we are not all of the same, not everybody thinks Maradona is God, not for me!!!. It hurt me so much when I read offensive posts against my country, specially from “brother” countries. I began this stupid forum just for the fun of it, just to talk about something that is happenig now, cos from the last days we don´t have news from Per & Marie!!, and thas all.
I beg your pardon if I insult your countries with my post. It wasn´t my intention.

Although he scored one of the greatest goals ever agaisnt England.....that goes no where near to making up what he did for the first goal.
He saw, we saw it.....the stadium saw it...the whole world saw it.....but the referee didn’t, that referee was struck off after that match.......I wonder why!
But anyway....thats the past....this is the present....lets just see what happens in the future...its the most open world cup in ages...which is great......just remember Brazil.......you haven’t played a real team, so don’t start celebrating just yet!! ;P
PS. Poor Poland....totaly destroyed by Portugal....and Portugal didn’t even play that well for the first 45mins. (weather conditions permitting...but they were still poor) wake up Figo! :P

we f*ucking deserver to be out of the cup..... our team forgot they were argentinians..... why i am saying this?... it was only centres and long balls in the moment of definition.... argentina has to “penetrate” a defense like that diving the players..... it happened in the past.... it happens everyday in our leagues... they didn’t look that way..... but it was obvious they had the directive to play with centres and long balls close to the goal....
The best moments Argentina created were when someone tried to dive in the swedish defense....
one of those was the one that gave us a penalty kick...
but anyway...... we deserve to be out......

Is it true that the Argentinan team wont come straight back to Argentina now, because that could be dangerous for them?!
tinytim said on June 12, 2002 15:53:
Hah...now, according to a web site, Brazil is the #1 in London’s bets...
Some weeks ago, Vieira from France said that Brazil was living a decaying stage...
Yeah, Vieira, yeah...
Of course we are not playing that well...but there’s an old saying here in my country...translating it, must be something like “A fish dies through its mouth”.
There’s another “footballistic” saying here...”Football is played inside the four lines”, what excludes nasty quotes before the matches. That’s why I’ll never say that Brazil is good coz won 4 cups. It WON 4 cups - and every cup is a different history.
I’m sad for the argentinian people. They are living very hard times and we all know what’s the effect of a south american team playing in a world tourney like this. It raises people’s happiness. I guess they deserved 90 minutes of happiness every week for a month (but not in June 30, hehehe). The argentinian are nice people. I had a friend from there, called Musri Leandro. Well, they have strange habits for us brazilians, like kissing goodbye everyone, including men, in the cheek. He did that and I turned red. They also flirt on our girls, but we are 170 millions, so we have a lot. They just make me angry coz they do that in the south region, where the babes are, grrrr....But in football matter, we’ll never agree.
I also don’t agree with people saying that Brazil is going fine...it’s not. It’s playing in a very slacky way, and well...I dunno...let’s wait to see...
RoxArgentina, you didn’t offend me, even a bit (???) Where did you take that?
I hope that you, your family and your friends’ families can get through these hard times.
I wasn’t against France, but remembering some phrases from France players as Lizarazu, I’m really happy with their exclusion...au revoir!!
That just proves that they defeated Brazil, only coz it was crashed for the almost death of Ronaldo in the hotel before the match.
Haha...time to show it...

My sincere congratulations for Sweden!!! and as I posted on the first time and as my country is out of the competition...I want sweden to do a great tournament!!
@ Tinytin, thanks for your support. Here we are passing through very difficult moments and I don´t know where and when this is going to finish. We´re a sad country and nowadays for us to lose the opportunity of the WC is just a little part of our sadness.
Good luck for all the teams that are still playing, specially for Sweden.

Get well soon Freddie Ljunberg :) Sweden are cool :) Magnus Hedman played brilliantly.
Well done Denmark, tis so cool that you’re playing us :) it will be a good game.

Ferdan said on June 14, 2002 14:23:
anyway.... vix, did you notice that he kicked the penalty really bad? he didn’t hit the ball properly..... and that confused our gk :)
tinytim said on June 14, 2002 15:52:
He kicked really well, Ferdan...he kicked strong, close to the ground and with effect. Maybe that’s why Caballero couldn’t even move...
There’s a player from Brazil, called Marcelinho Carioca who does the same. He kicks to the middle of the goal, with a very soft touch. He pretends that is going to kick strong, but jus taps it, and the keeper jumps to one of sides...hahaha...it’s funny...also Djalminha from La Coruña does it. Coincidently, both Marcelinho and Djalminha started their careers in the same team, Flamengo.
So, Vix...you wanna to doubt about Brazil’s merit in its victories so far, huh...OK, Brazil was placed in a “easy” group. But, I believe that it accomplish with its role, then. We played against “weak” teams, so, our duty should be win them with a high score...well, we did it! Maybe in the first match that would’t happen, coz naturally, every team feels the pressure of being in a World Cup. Specially this Brazil’s team, that suffered lots of pressure during the qualifying. I said that when Brazil was raffled to this group, it was raffled to a group according to the football that it was playing (we lost to Hondurasm remember?). But, since then, Brazil grew up...Ronaldo returned, slowly, but he did...other players turned themselves capable of dressing that yellow shirt, like Ronaldinho, Kaka, Júnior...a feeling and atittude of union, like it didn’t happen for a long time took over all the people envolved with the World Cup; players, coach team, etc...so, we passed “easily” through this stage.
Now Brazil, will fight against Belgium. Then, maybe England and Brazil will meet...we can talk later..I mean...if Brazil defeat Belgium, and if England defeat the excellent and organized Denmark team.
By the way, I wanted that Denmark and Sweden played...the cuttest female crowd we could ever see together per m²...oh well, some day I’ll go to Scandinavia...some day...
Vixzter said on June 14, 2002 17:05:
@Ferdan: it went in though! so who cares >:P
@tiny: if.....if......if ;) I filled my fantasy league team with Brazilians.....I had some French players to start with....they did poorly....then I got some Italians....and they went and lost to Croatia.....so now I’ve got some Brazilians........wonder if my loosing streak will continue ;)
Who was that guy who scored that over head kick yesterday?? I was impressed with that.
England will probably get stuffed by Denmark tomorow......but its all been worth it just to see the likes of France, Argentina and now Portugal go home before us!
Spain are looking good...Raul is top class :) , Germany could actualy get themselves quite far, not bad for a team written off before they even kicked a ball.
Ahwell....if England get knocked out....I’ll mope for a day and then get on with life....theres always the European championships to look forward to. (if we qualify ;) ! )
BTW ....
Theres only one David Beckham....and he scores penalties straight down the middle of the goal >:P

onlywhenidream said on June 16, 2002 14:58:
it is really sad about Ireland - they really did deserve to win, Spain were rubbish all through the game...only they had the luck of the irish when it came to the penalties.
It is also sad about Sweden, I wanted England and Sweden to both win the world cup.
but still, let’s just hope Beckham’s men do the business against either brazil or belgium.
dan-rox said on June 17, 2002 08:28:
hey Spian played much better than the irish, of course thsi don’t means that the irish didn’t play vey well, it was a very good match, but we have 12 offsides ( sorry my english is not as goodas i would like ), and one for sure of Morientes wasn’t and this was a goal, two goals that Frisk did’t accept, a penalty in minute 89, Casillas great, we aarived lot of time, and as all teams will do, with 10 players or better say 9 because Luis Enrique was injured try not to lose, and we played better, at the end i can admit this is just by luck and because Casillas is thousand of times better than Given we won by luck, but during the match we played better, so don’t say stupid things, you have be ashamed for have scored juts with the help of Frisk and at minute 89, you haven’t hit any times and do you think you played better ? scored at teh end is very sad, this means you haven’t done anything the rest of the match.
We are better than the irish and you don’t want to accept it, open your eyes and see the truth we played better and we are better than you.
You played very well, especially Harte, but you have nothing to do with us, be careful now all people think seriosly i us, before the championship nobody trust in us.
GO ON CAMACHO’S BOYS !!!

BTW......if the Spanish wanted an Irish shirt so bad why didn’t they wait until the final whistle when the could’ve swapped shirts for nothing......why give away a needless penalty.....and yes it was a penalty! (well spotted referee) the most convincing one of the tournament so far.
PerFanatic said on June 17, 2002 16:32:

a: because its too complicated for them to understand!! >;P (ie: offside rule)
b: goals aren’t nearly big enough to hit &you don’t have to wear thousands of $$ worth of armour to play it.
c: because they’re not very good at it.
d: beacuse if they don’t win the world cup every time they think its a failure!
GO USA!! ;) You may not get a gold medal but I love ya ;P

the usa team was hell much better than germany - the incident with the hand by a german player was so visible, but of course the decisions of referees are really very poor in soccer.... this is a scandal - that german player should get the red card and the usa would maybe score the penalty shot IF this referee was normal....yeah, i noticed the poor quality of this championships already during the first matches - by poor quality i mean the scandalous decisions of referees who are big ass holes.... i give up on soccer - NFL is much better - besides it’s athletics time and wimbledon is coming up.... japan / korea — great parody of sport .... of course in my opinion
tinytim said on June 21, 2002 15:45:
What now, Vix? What now Ferdan and all the argentinians here? Did the referee help us?? Did he NEED to help us? What now, Vix...didn’t Brazil deserve the victory??
I said some days before this match, that Brazil X England would be easier to Brazil than Brazil X Belgium. Owen scored for luck...England didn’t exist in this match. So, there’s a certain girl in this forum, called Vicki Benckert who said that Brazil didn’t play against a real team in this Cup yet...yeah, and that still didn’t happen...
Beckham..well, he’s a good boy (at least now) but I should advice him: go wearing Victoria’s underpants and walk on a catwalk...it will be more worth...he won’t feel that depressed...he brought Victoria to celebrate their victory...but if he fails...you know what a lose like that makes with a man’s motivation...well if he fails...he still got his whole collection of gels, glasses, perfumes, and his hairmaker...to make him some company...GO BACK TO MAN U, blondie!!! He said that would make a new haircut to this match...ooohh...in the old civilizations, the people used to shave their heads as a sign of sorrow...nice suggestion, I think...oh no, he did it already...
Owen...well, he strives and has skill...but when the ball came to him, he started to breathe desperately, like if he was going to give a children to birth...he couldn’t believe, he seemed afraid...like the whole team of England...maybe at the end of his career, Owen can get a job as a...a...Super Mario double!!! Today, he seemed smaller than Juninho...a tiny spirit, maybe reflects in your physical posture...
The so famous English air-strike...???...does it really exist? Marcos seems to have the easiest job of the world...at least for today. And Lucio...well, he repaired every mistake by having an almost perfect acting until the match’s end. Yeah... “Brazil attacks better than it defends”...OK, then...
The others, well...I’m sorry but are just others...
I’m being this way exaggerated ‘coz I hate when there are stupid people in the right places. Like all the journals from Argentina and England’s tabloids...hah! They should behave as professionals, but they’re just fanatic supporters with a PC available...and Bielsa... “England will win, DUH”...why didn’t he say that was supporting them at all? Hope that now, Olé newspaper will shut up and finish those stupid reports...we eliminated Argentina’s eliminators...now that their team is out, they have to talk about others and watch it all by the television...hahahaha!
Brazil played today like a real team...showed all the necessary attributes: talent, determination, skill, speed, calm spirit...not the best of the best it could give, but it was better from the start to final whistle...that’s why we won...so, Vix, Ferdan, n_e_1 (?????) please...STOP CRYING YOUR HEART OUT!!! (BTW, n_e_1...yeah, Diego won for 7,000 votes more...but who cares? Pelé scored more than 1,000 goals and probably dribbled more than 10,000 times everyone on his way...these numbers really matter for me...besides, Maradona is a more recent football idol than Pelé and Pelé didn’t play in Europe – that wasn’t necessary to keep him in people’s mind in an “undeleteable” way...)
Ronaldinho was the carachter of some sort of greek tragedy...the hero that kills it all. His goal is fantastic, historic, and intentional, of course...his foul was childish and anti-professional...but, thanks to Cafu, Rivaldo, Kleberson, Roberto Carlos and Edilson, experienced players, Brazil started to tell the rythm...not exactly a samba, but enough to keep the result.
Rivaldo scored a wonderful goal, a killer one...it’s hard for every player kick a ball like that with such precision...
People here are celebrating, with a wide smile in their faces...and we had fireworks from 3:30 AM - 5:30 AM...like if we had a second Happy New Year party, considering the number of spots in the night sky...believe me, the party in Brazil for a World Title is something nice and nothing nasty...let’s see if it’s gonna really come...
BTW, this topic is distorting TDR’s main objective: talk about Roxette and related...so I wrote the following lyrics specially to Vixzie...hehehe...
Vixzter...‘situations change, I know it, it’s the most natural thing / And if you wanna show it, you don’t Owen me anything’.
Get your upset feeling and ‘t-t-take it away, won’t you please go Beckhome? HEY!’
DANGEROUS
(Lyrics: tinytim Music: Per Gessle)
You pack your bags, we take control / You’re moving up from Japan straight to London / Get out of our way! Get out of our sight! / We won’t be stepped by tough guys, no more nights / Hey what’s your work? What’s your game? / You do play something, but it still got no name // Hold on tight, you know Brazil’s a little bit dangerous / They got what they want when play for real / Those gold kicker shooters that dash and thrill / You know they’re a little bit dangerous // You look around, your mind is dry / You’re hiding behind your head coach, but the ball is alive / Get out of our way! Get out of our sight! / We’ll be tumbling some tough guys by other nights // Hey what’s your word? What’s your game? I know you tried, but man, you’re a shame // Hold on tight, you know Brazil’s a little bit dangerous / They got what they want when play for real / Those gold kicker shooters that dash and thrill / You know they’re a little bit dangerous, ooh, a little bit dangerous // Hey, what’s your work, hmmm play any games? / Still got no name // Heeey you, hmm, just a little bit dangerous // Still got no naaame!! Oh-Oh... // Due to exceptional weakness of this team, play them HARD!
Did I forget something? Oh yeah...Vixzter...GO PLAYING HOCKEY!!
No offense...**SMARMY SMILE**
Brazil it isn’t invulnerable to critics, but I had to say it, I was just keeping it to the proper moment...hehehe...

@tinytim
:)))))) your last post made me smile biiiiiiiig way :))) this Dangerous version is brilliant :) congratulations ! have you ever thought about writing lyrics ? high time !!! ...seamann made a big mistake going too much to the front when the second shot was scored by brasil.... personally, i’d love brasil to play against spain in the final - that would be a beautiful event, if not disturbed by ass holes ( ie. referees )
cheers tinytim, great job :)

The throne belongs to the queen, but the World Cup belongs to Brazil !!!!
Ferdan, n e 1, RoxArgentina, dear “hermanos”... learn with us.. that’s the way to beat the English team (And we had only 10 players in the field)
God Save Brazil and God Help The Queen !!!! :) What a glorious day !!! :) Our team is already one of the four best teams in this World Cup... that’s more than WONDERFUL !!
That’s it... Vix, see ya in 2006 (And go learn about soccer, Brazil is the BEST, respect us :)

No doubt... you have a great team, but I wonder if you will be equally vocal and gracious if your team crash outta the competition...?
Maybe to a developing football nation...? :)

“No doubt... you have a great team, but I wonder if you will be equally vocal and gracious if your team crash outta the competition...?”
Well, dear eliminated Steven, if Brazil gets out of this WC... so what ? We went far then France, Argentina, England, Portugal and Italy... so I’ll still making fun of you loosers, that didn’t respect Brazil, like the fans from Germany (another team that everyone made fun, like us, before the WC) and Spain, that were always very respectful (people from Italy and Portugal were also very cool)
So, all you have to do Steven is to watch us on tv and pray for Senegal or Turkey... but it won’t bring your team back !!
Now I’m going to have my Five o’clock... beer !!
See ya

Gessle: ’My team’ as you so put it - have not qualified for the world cup for over 50 years...
You see my friend... I am from Wales and am therefore Welsh... not English.
Which is why when I watch the world cup I can do so with a dispasionate point of view and enjoy watching all the teams and all the players fairly.
England were poor today...
...and so were Brasil.
There are still some very strong teams left in the competition, so come on man! Chill out and enjoy the games.
nedved said on June 21, 2002 19:49:
England deserves to be out of the cup. I expected more from the English players but I´m very disappointed with them. They did nothing during all the match. Brazil took the control of the game and had no problems; the Brazilian victory is totally fair. I didn’t know Ronaldinho very well, but I´ve seen the match and I have to say that he is a really great player. I´m wondering where David Beckham was; maybe he was with his hair stylist, trying a new hair cut. :o

It wasn’t right of Korea to win.
The referee cancled 3 goals of Spain.Although it was not his fault.it was his helps’ fault.
Two wrong offsides and one wrong Out.
I can’t believe Korea be in 1/2 of final.
steven said on June 22, 2002 15:52:
Yasha: Welcome to the wonderful world of Football Refereeing...
Some of the greatest moments in Footbal history are full of such questionable decisions...
The recent USA Vs Germany: Where the German player stopped a USA goal with his hand... The referee didn’t see, but the world did...
And who could forget the infamous ’Hand of God’ between England V’s Argentina in the 1986 World cup where Maradonna punched the ball into the goal... Again the referee didn’t see, but the world did...
Such is the nature of the game... sometime these decisions can go against you and other times you can get lucky...
...good fun though eh? :)
StillFar said on June 22, 2002 20:52:
Everybody is bitching about the referees...referees have to take decisions within a few secs and don’t have TV replays from every possible ankle...
before I forget....bye bye Spain!
steven said on June 22, 2002 21:33:
Exactely Stillfar! Can you image a fast paced football match that had to stop every few minutes to allow the ref to view a replay!???
Awful idea!
Yashar said on June 22, 2002 21:52:
@ Steven & Stillfar :
Yes! Mistakes are natural for referees, but not 3 big and terrible mistakes in one game.
Don’t forget that all of these mistakes were against Spain.
freshold said on June 23, 2002 00:30:
this so-called soccer world cup is the world cup of false referees in fact..... korea will be the champion - they have the referees in their pockets ... i think that 21 century allows referees to use the video recordings - in such controversial and so important situations, the match should be stopped.... after all it’s not the local sub teams playing but the future s-called champions...in athletics they always compare the results watching the recordings.... the world cup is a too serious event to make such mistakes ... well, once it was a big event... it loses its prestige with the scandalous incidents in korea/ japan
feeling disgust with referees....
cheers

Been away for the weekend....won’t read all your comments coz I don’t have time and I can’t be arsed....still won’t be supporting Brazil so live with it.....England are out coz they should have changed they’re goalie at half time :P
Come on Turkey.....Come on South Korea....if it gets really bad I might even go as far as saying come on Germany :P (you lucky sods)
I remember back on 28th september 2000 England lost to Germany 1-0 and they weren’t even supposed to qualify for the WC, so I think quater finals isn’t all that bad :P it would have been bloody embarassing for Brazil to loose to a team that shouldn’t even be there!! ;)
Lets hope the ref gives Turkey a penalty that never was ;)

dan-rox said on June 25, 2002 08:47:
Spain was stolen and it was clear, Hiddink has to be ashamed why corea is in semifinal with the help of the egypcian and the two other men, but the problem is Blatter, he wanted the votes of as much countries as can be posible, and that’s why we had people from trinidad and tobao, benin, vanuatu ... which leagues are there ? do they really know what’s a ball ? we need profesional not amateurs.
Someone don’t lieks Spain, but it’s very clear we weren’t at the semifinal because of the egypcian.
It’s a coincidence that against Corea happened the same as to Portugal and Italy ?
Not, FIFA and Blatter prefers corean money and the population from the country than the honesty of the players and the people.
FIFA has to change and Blatter out of the presidence it’s indignant what he had done, and Villar president of spanish federation has to be out of teh FIFA vice-presidence, we can’t be in a place were the only that matters is to continue being president and the money.
Now i understand how the italians feels.

I’m so naughty that I don’t support Brazil like everyone else ;) I like to be unique!! :P
Still Ronaldo scored some points for my fantasy league team, that was good.

‘Coz we are the champions of the world...”
Need no more words to describe what 2 billion people saw...
They saw what football is made of.
Talent, dedication, emotion, union, friendship, childhood...
Plurality, Productivity, Accuracy, Playability, Ronaldility, Rivaldility, Ronaldinhility, Juninhility, Marcosility, Gilbertility, Klebersonility...Brazility...
Now, two cups are needed to those ones who want to reach us...of course, those ones who have at least, three cups in their curriculum...they’re not much, you know...
Ronaldo is the best example of what a football player should be: a naughty children, that will always be sassy with those ones who say that he can’t come out to play only coz he’s ill. He will go out anyway, and will kick, pass, and dribble on the muddy fields or streets.
Rivaldo is just the essence of “go there and make it, then”...always hated and loved, always with something to prove. And he did.
Need to say something else about the others? Guess no.
But, I won’t miss the tradition and the opportunity. Of course some new lyrix were written. Actually, the other big nations of football, like France, Argentina, Germany, England, Italy, hired me to write some lyrix to homage Brazil’s fifth title...Oh, I guess they just didn’t expect the following:
STUPID
(lyrics: tinytim music: Per Gessle)
Everything you do you do so right / The dribbles you make are awfully nice / You got a defense header-proof / Your stock of goals are always through the roof // You make us feel so stupid // Make us feel stupid, yeah // And you grew up since last year / Nobody thought you’d get here / We always remember the name of your stars / We got some ones, but dunno who they are // Oh yeah, you make us feel so stupid / Make us feel stupid, yeah / And we are going to wait four years more / Going to wait four years more // The ball with you has a special shine / The grass below you is greener that in mine / Your wit pours out when you make a long pass / You got a player that, man, kicks ass!! / You make us feel so stupiiid / Make us feel stupiiiid yeah / And we are going to wait four years more, going to wait for year more / Going to WAIT, four years more, going to WAIT...yeah, you make us fell stupiiid...so stupid (four years more) / You make us feel so stupid (four years more) Oh-Oh...(four years more)
HA!
HA!
HA!
HA!
HA!
R-R-R-R-R-R-R-Ronaldo!!!
Vixzter: what the hell is this Fantasy League that you english are so on about? I remember I saw that in a magazine about Mega Drive’s Fifa Soccer 95. There’s was a magazine, called Gamezone that was creating a Fantasy League...what the hell is that???
Vixzter said on July 4, 2002 16:44:
I saw some bloke with a Ronaldo haircut yesterday!! I thought all the ppls that went out and did that sort of thing were made up......but no there he was walking past me in the street. I’d just like to ask him why he felt the need to look a total prat! :P
@tiny - Fantasy league is where you as a manager pick players (for example : you could choose any player in the world cup)....usualy ....a goalie....4 defenders....3 midfielders....and 3 attackers.....the company running it puts a value on each player ie: Ronaldo was £5 million or something like that....basicaly you have about £50million to spend and you have to make a team out of that.
You get about 8 transfers throughout the tournament.
You score points when your goalie or defence keep a clean sheet.
Your players play a whole match.....or your attackers score and so on....it varies....you also get minus points for letting in goals (thanx alot Fabian bloody Barthez) and bookings and sending off’s
Complicated ain’t it ;) .....the price is set so that you can’t choose (for example) the whole Brazil team coz they would cost more put togethr than your spending allowence.
Its been hard this world cup coz so many teams with good players have fallen at the first stage.
Dunno where I ended up in our league.....fairly low I exepct ;)
Vixzter said on July 4, 2002 16:49:
