I’ve known this for a while now and I just thought I should let you know... At MTV UK’s 5 Night Stand, where Garbage where performing, just as the guys where about to perform the song ’Shut Your Mouth’, Shirley said ’this will be our next single’
I’m not sure if this apply’s to all of the world but it’s definatly the UK...
I have to question Garbage’s choices of singles...
1. Androgyny (UK #6)
2. Cherry Lips (go baby go!) (UK #20)
3. Breaking Up The Girl (UK #27)
4. Shut Your Mouth (possible UK #30 - well, that’s my predicition anyway)
What the hell are they thinking?!? Their has never been this many single-worthy songs on an album, and what are they doing? - their releasing the worst songs on the album!
I never listened to ’Breaking Up The Girl’ before it was on MTV and I think they’ll need to do a hell of a lot of work to get ’Shut Your Mouth’ into the UK top 20... Why don’t they release the good songs like ’Silence Is Golden’ which we all love so much... no more of these pancy little ’Breaking Up The Girl’ pieces of crap...
I’ve never liked the B-Side’s on a single more than the a-side but with ’Cherry Lips’ & ’Breaking Up The Girl’ I did!
Well, I have to admit that the B-side to Cherry Lips (Enough Is Never Enough) would’ve been better than any song they’d have released coz it’s the best song they made since ’You Look So Fine’ but even all the b-side’s to Cherry Lips (Confidence, Candy Says & Happiness) are better than the A-Side - and ’Confidence’ & ’Happiness’ both sound like they were made in about under an hour...
They better get a grip & release some real songs soon!

But you have very erroneous info there:
Androgyny didn’t enter the UK Top 20, let alone Top 10! I remember it peaking at 22 or something.
Cherry Lips didn’t enter the Top 20 either, it’s peak was a bit lower than Androgyny’s.
