some problems with my rox DVD

I know it might seem strange for me to mention the DVD now - but us poor Rox fans in OZ only had the DVD released on the 15th April.
Anyway, some of the video clips seem to have little problems (or maybe i’m just really picky) some have a few white specs occasionaly and QOR and SMT seem to have a graphical glitch in them like the picture tears or something, i think also maybe on a few other clips and on Really Roxette Doco when Dimberg is talking down the bottom of the screen. And in FLAF when marie sing “cold, cold town” 1 frame goes red!!
Anyone else have these problems or is it just my disc??
Just want to know whether i should try and swap the disc for another one.
I can put some screenshots up on a site if anyone wants to know what i’m talking about.
BTW - one of the best things about the DVD is that i finally have a copy of SMT with the sound and video in sync!!

yeah that really pissed me off on DBUGTTC vid with the cheers on Excited. Thankfully the DVD doesn’t have that.
But it does have a few other things that are really annoying such as awkward breaks between songs and especially the docos. Really makes me wonder what they were doing when they were putting that together.
But i still gotta know about them other problems - coz if it’s only my disc - i gotta swap it for a better one.

There’s a glitch on my DVD at the beginning of the “Run To You” video. The pictures skips.

While a lot of the clips are in bad condition, due to the transfer process used and the fac tthat each clip was limited to a low bit rate, (like I’ve said Many A time it shoulda been a 2 disc set).
Rob i;m still trying to find out whether the AUS release was made in Aus or was imported. I think it was made in AUS, but I can’t see either version being that different.
What kind of DVD setup do you have.

The Cranberries released a DVD in the fall and they weren’t satisfied with the quality - so the DVD was re-released this spring because of the band’s demand... Per & Marie should do something about “All Videos Ever Made & More” toooooo!!!
...Or wait, they’ll probably put out a new DVD with all the same videos and a couple of new ones next year!

Like they’d care? :(
This DVD is a shit product, and I don’t agree with that we should be satisfied because they’ve finally put one out. Yes, I’ve bought it of course, but I’m not satisfied by a long shot. Problem is that EMI don’t really care, (or actually think it’s a decent DVD). Fortunately I don’t have any problems with skips and pixelation, but the grainyness and the blurring is the worst I’ve ever seen in a DVD. Not to mention the pathetic liner notes.
And my last complaint: There are videos missing, so “complete”...? No.

ditroia- theres nothing on the disc that says that it was made in aus just “place of manufacture as stated on label” and there is no label that says what country! But i would think even if it was it would be exactly the same.
I just got my DVD player connected straight to the TV. And i got my DVD drive on my comp - but both show the glitches so it is definetly the disc - i just want to know if any one else has this problem, and if not i can try and swap the disc -
Does EZYDVD let you swap discs if they are stuffed??
It would be great if they did re-release it with a version that was put together properly without spelling mistakes and glitchy vids!! On two discs!!
ditroia said on April 22, 2002 01:59:
Rob Yes if the disc is actually um stuffed they should replace/refund you.
Is your DVD drive region 4 only or multi region. Also if you have your dvd player plugged in Thru your S-Video or Component Connection you’ll get better quality.
Cheers

Ditroia - dvd drive and player are both region 4 - i can’t use s-video or composite cause the tv doesn’t have them inputs.
well it looks like i’m gonna have to live without my Dvd for a week or two till i get a replacement
ditroia said on April 23, 2002 03:09:
Hmm Well All I can say is until someone lends me a copy of the Aus editoin I can’t really comoare the difference of the two versions.
Perhaps it’s just a faulty disc
Cheers
Dave
P.S. Keep me posted

I got the DVD the other day (finally!) and I’ve been going through the videos and I’m currently up to IMHBL but it’s terribly out of sync in some parts, is this the same with everyone or just mine????!!!!
I loved the extra bits in the making of joyride that I hadn’t seen before and it is good to finally have all the videos on DVD but there seems to be to many problems for everyone, EMI could have done a much better job!

looks like everyone has some different problems, It must be the dvd. Mine skips accasionaly but never in the same parts. But it only happens rarely so I’m not bothered. But I’ll have to use th S-video connection, which is something I ddidnt know about till now ;-)
RobS said on May 12, 2002 01:15:
hotblooded - i think IMHBL is out of sync in most of the video compilations - but i didn’t really notice on the DVD.
And i’ve found more problems on my disc- more smudging/tearing in fingertips 93, and i’m still waiting for a replacement disc!!

Hmm...I don’t have the DVD yet (though I live in Finland) but I’ve heard there are some mistakes... Here’s a quote from one of the reviews at Amazon:
“It appears as though they have mastered those particular musicvideos FROM the VHS and not the master source from which the VHS was created as the VHS is clearer than the DVD.”
And it also says something about the other documentary.
I can only wonder, why they didn’t do it absolutely perfectly ’cos it’s their one and only DVD after all...
PS. I bet you can hear crowd cheers at the end of “Excited?” (like on the original Live-Ism where it was included and also on the DBU-video)
