I wrote an E-Mail to Emi. They have just answered me:Hallo Emi-Team!

Es gibt Gerüchte, daß dieses Jahr noch ein roxette album erscheinen soll Kann mir dies jemand bestätigen?

es ist ein neues Album für Ende November,
mit dem Titel “Ballads” geplant.

For all not German roxers: Emi said that the new album is coming un the end of November with the titel “BALLADS”. I wrote another E-Mail and askes if tit iss agreatest hits or a brand new album, what I really hope of course!!

Ich finde es gar nicht so schlimm, wenn es wirklich ein Balladenalbum wird, denn zumindest die Radiosender die ich empfange, spielen vorrangig die Balladen (Radio SAW, PSR, FFH, JUMP, Antenne Thüringen, Hitradio Antenne Sachsen,...), die haben also eine viel größere Popularität. Und ein oder zwei neue Songs inclusive Singelauskopplung werden sicher auch dabei sein. Ich finde es zur Überbrückung besser als gar nichts!! Also verzweifelt bitte nicht.

Maybe a Ballads album is better than nothing. Many german radio stations in my region are playing at most the ballads of Roxette. So i think they are more popular than the up-tempo. And a take-off single and 1 or 2 further new tracks will be surely included, I Believe!

They wouldn’t back to the studio again just to record a bunch of ballads. Anyway, lately, the Roxette ballads (old ones) and acoustic songs are being played in Radio! This is so strange! Did the Unplugged songs have a release as singles or something??

Personally I am do not believe in all these rumours. I think that the FC would be the first to know it and the Swedish press too. I really don’t know what to think! This is so weird. I also think it’s strange that they planned to release an album with ballads! I mean usually they have also uptempo songs on them...

It´s curious, cause some years ago there should have been already released a Roxette CD with the title “Ballads”!

Personally I don’t think that EMI yet knows what Roxette will pop out. Do Per and Marie know it yet? You know how their ideas develop during studio work!

Well, I already heard from a ballads album in November last year from EMI Austria ...
At this time it wasn’t quite sure if there will be 2 or only one album.
So it’s not only EMI Germany telling something like that ...
I think I will ask someone from EMI Austria by myself again to make sure if they know something like that too.

Well, but I will ask them that’s for sure ... and why shouldn’t tell EMI people about that ... maybe it’s not that big secret ... why should it ??

the Petshop Boys (which aren’t my cup of tea!), about EMI, what i agree:

Pet Shop Boy Chris Lowe hat seine eigene Plattenfirma EMI als idiotisch abgestempelt. Lowe kritisiert damit das Vorgehen der Plattenfirma. Erst Mariah Carey eine Abfindung von 38 Millionen Pfund zahlen - bloß um sie loszuwerden - und kurz darauf im März 1.800 Angestellte zu entlassen. Chris Lowe wörtlich: “Wie scheiße sind die PR-Leute von EMI eigentlich?”

I read the email which Christian got, too. But I can’t understand, why EMI gives such information to the people. Sometimes they a so cold and ungently to the fans, that there must be a little joke or something like that. Maybe, it’s only the title of the work (like someone said it here alsready). But I won’t have a album full of ballads. Baladas en espanol are enough. But at the end we are very happy that they will release a new album...

Everyone’s saying ’oh crap, an album full of NEW ballads’ - well, i hear no-one saying it could be a compilation of old ballads.

Think about it - why would they make an album of new ballads - they’ll probably do what Madonna did in ’95 (she released ’Something to Remember - which was a collection of ballads)

It wouldn’t make sense for them to go into the studio and come out with 14 ballad. So basically it’s a secong greatest hits - but not the one we were talking about only a few months ago.
