Per writing for Pet Shop Boys?

Hey, I know this might sound like a stretch, but has anyone heard if Per has written anything for the new PSB album. I don’t have the CD so I can’t check the credits, but this one song “I Get Along” was either written by Per, or this is another case of a band immitating Roxette’s style (like Savage Garden with “I want you”).

Take a listen to this song and see if you agree. It should be on AG, Morpheus, etc. It really sounds like Per songs from the CBB era.

Tip - if you use AG, search for “Pet Shop Boys 2002” as their regularly named material is blocked.

Get along is written by tennant/Lowe. Johnny Marr is playing guitar on this track in fact on 8 of the 10 songs on the new album. Album is out possibly in April new single Home and dry out March 18.

Come on, Per is a good song writer but his lyrics never go deep and will never get as sophiticated (?) as those of the Pet shop boys. But thats a good thing ’cos we need those songs as well.

Hey, don’t get me wrong (I like PSB in general) but what to YOU mean by sophisticated? Do you think lyrics about coming out of the closet or how it is to be gay are sophisticated? Come on now, I think most people like songs because of the melody, music, arrangement, etc. Frankly, I don’t care what lyrics Chris/Neil are writing if their music isn’t nice to listen to. And to be honest, they have only released a few decent songs in the last decade.

To me, it’s all about how the music makes you feel. Roxette’s songs make me feel like a fresh spring day or a summer road trip or a picnic in the park. Lately, most PSB songs sound so depressing they make me feel like I’m in a 8-month-long gray-day drizzling rain. Oh wait, that may be because of where I live:)

Per’s the best song writer in the history of the planet! No exceptions!

Pet Shop Boys is my favourite band after Roxette. I mean PSB would make Nº 2 on my personal chart. But I don´t think PSB lyrics are more sophisticated than Roxette’s, if you don’t believe me take a listen again to Joyride, Tourism, C!B!B!.....
Anyway it would be great a colaboration between both bands, remember Pet Shop Boys is the most important duo in the 80’s and Roxette the most important duo in the 90’s.
Rox on!!!

Most of the boys lyrics have a deeper meaning. I don’t know them all fortunatly but I think they are some pretty clever songs in the past. If someone is interested in some PSB demos (Nightlife era) and songs from the Musical Closer to heaven which feat. Neil on vocals drop me a mail @ [email protected] and I tell you all about it.
