Silly Really is No.1 in ROMANIA !!!

http://www.radiowylfm.ro/main/top-40.html Even though it's an airplay chart, it should require some sort of attention from Per & management. The same happened in the States. A positive and instant radio approach. The radios are playing what the listeners might want to hear. Don't you think? Sales cannot compare with sales in Germany, but club-life here is able to compete with any other from anywhere in the world! Besides, the need of getting a top, famous, artist playing live in a club over here it's really high!
Bunio said on February 2, 2009 17:19:
is it national airplay chart or only this WYLFM radio? how big is this radio?
alexandru. said on February 2, 2009 19:10:
@Bunio, Yes is national radio. This radio is very popular here, around Bucharest.
Per, please here in Romania.

This could be news if anyone could verify this actually is an important radio station and not Romania’s answer to Radio Ljusdal... (very very small station)
ncurran said on February 2, 2009 22:14:
Doesnt look like a very big station:
http://www.comanescu.ro/2006/12/09/romanian-radio-stations-market-shares...
http://radiostationworld.com/locations/romania/radio_websites.asp
not listed on the first website at all, on the 2nd one it looks like it is just a local station. Maybe the webmaster of www.roxette.ro owns the station. We’ll probably find out soon if the station has an exclusive interview with marie’s wardrobe assistant from the joyride tour

and? has the fact that is is only a local station changed since then? not according to their own site! According to their website they are based in Campina (population of 38,000)broadcast in the following areas:
în Ploiesti, pe 95,9 FM
- în Târgoviste, pe 88,7 FM
- în Câmpina, pe 103,2 FM
- în Slobozia, pe 92,9 FM
- în Snagov, pe 103,1 FM
They are all in prahova county, which as you can see from the map is just a small area of the country
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Prahova.svg
The county has a total population of just less than 1 million people, so even though it is not a national station it could still be newsworthy, but that would also depend on just how popular that station is within the county. I may be wrong of course, but the impression I have from looking at the website, the playlist and the fact of the town it is based in, I dont think it is a very big radio station.
tevensso (moderator) said on February 2, 2009 22:43:
That’s unfortunately the feeling I get too. I want this to be big and important, but so far no one has convinced me.
TDR ran a story much like this one a few years back, then about a German “really big and important” radio station. Turned out it was not big nor important... Don’t want that to happen again.
mixella1 said on February 2, 2009 22:56:
I wonder if this was number one on a Hamburg radio station it would be important to you?. Ploiesti is a very important city and it;s very near to the capital. And i still am amazed that Per get there at number one with no intervention what so ever from us. I only found out this afternoon, so it;s important that not from us the word got out. Must have been some DJ who liked Per song from other radio station, who knows? The history repeats itself. If it was a minimum publicity of the album here, or at least the single there should have been a greater thing. I wonder why they don’t bother? I do get the feeling from this site that eastern Europeans are defending themselves too much in front of all of the other from this forum.

I think it’s because you seem to be five fans altogether. No one said this was unimportant. All we are saying is that it’s not verifiable yet. Give us something more than “this is a big station” and we’ll go with it. And no, we wouldn’t print it if it was some shit station in Hamburg putting this as #1 on some list that doesn’t mean anything. Again, not saying this is the case here. But read my previous post and you’ll understand.
mixella1 said on February 2, 2009 23:32:
I am looking for a site to show you what that radio represents in Ploiesti, meanwhile you could look at these address to see how many people from our country enters at www.roxette.ro
http://stat.trafic.ro/stat/roxette/vizitatori/saptamana/#stat and you should stop wondering if we are only 5 and here http://stat.trafic.ro/stat/roxette/referinte/cautari/#stat you can see what people who are entering are searching, and the word is either roxette or silly really, so it is an important tool to analyze. Not all the fans are willing to write on a forum, and i don’t see many polish fans or from other country being very active either on this forum.

When Roxette got the airwaves with “The Look” at KDWB in Minneapolis was it a major nation-wide radio station? C’mon guys... “Silly Really” wasn’t even released here, no promo copies sent here and there, no EMI to care about and so on, and it still got the attention of some radio people, same thing in the States back then.
Besides, “Prahova Valley”, it’s Romania’s main touristical attraction, (Dracula’s Castle nearby for example).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prahova_Valley
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinaia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Predeal
P.S. If I were Per or Dimberg I would just simply hire an advisor for Eastern Europe, map out it’s potential and locate the profitable spots.
Roxerally said on February 3, 2009 08:42:
Hey it still got to number1 that’s not bad without EMI being involved!
Kiwein1 said on February 3, 2009 10:32:
The wardrobe assistant is going to make my day...rofl.
But hitting the top spot without any promotion is indeed ...well...surprising at least, isn’t it?

@kiwein1:
Those days when Roxette or Per got unlimited funds in order to do promotion / record an album have gone for good. Nowadays, he records “Mazarin” for example in that low-budget Aerosol Grey Machine Studio, he makes a high income out of it and reinvests it in the SOAP project targeting an international market with good sales and chart results. Which is obviously at a higher cost than promoting only in Sweden. The same with En Handig Man, where the money out of it goes in the “Party Crasher” project with a small (and less risky) club tour this time. The next thing will be again a swedish project, most likely GT 30, after that the Roxette project (hoepfully) which consumes the highest energies and resources.
Promotion is necessary, but not vital in order to get profitable. Example: Innsbruck, Austria, 2001, only 1500 (!) people attented the show, where at the time EMI Austria had a priority on Roxette.
And especially if you’re doing just a club thing with an average attendance of around 1500 ppl / show. When you do a club tour your approach is different than doing a regular one targeting a slightly higher attendance.
In Romania, Roxette is a well-known and radio-friendly band, with very low album sales. But club-life is over-top. In other words: no sales, but good profit, since there is a high interest for seeing a famous artist playing live.

Sorry, but SOAP (even if supposed to be international) didn’t sell or chart so good outside of Sweden. As long as I know, the album didn’t chart in any other country. The singles had the same fate.

i dont think per cares about the money that much, he has all kinds of scrilla! its about the love of the game. i just whish hed rip out the gretsh white, falcon 2, chet atkins, bryan setzer, sparkle jet and the rickenbacker 360 jet glow and 330 burgandy and make a guitar drivin album that leaves me with that magical feelng deep in my guts thats been missing since parts of f5f!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ps. never been fond of the white ricky he plays from time to time
mixella1 said on February 4, 2009 13:24:
@konstpaus i wonder if he doesn’t care so much for the money? But he has to pay so many other that work for him. Otherwise i don’t see the point in taking 3 concerts in Germany and none in other countries with potential, like Spain for example...
konstpaus said on February 4, 2009 14:14:
@mixella1 of corse he cares about the scrilla a bit wot i mean is if a concert runs at a loss its a tax write off, you know.... negitive gearing. that must work to some point. also you either like per or not, if you like him you buy EVERYTHING and if you dont you dont buy shit. there is a lot of money spent by fans i mean i paid 100usd for i want you to know single once and thats just 1 example it is quite expensive collectin per, not like say pink where you can buy any cd for 10bucks and any single for 5. with all that said i think he owes some countrys tours
ps i travelled to sweden for room service, altertaget, mazarin , enh andig man and gt25 but i refuse to this time, he should come to australia, at lease 1 show in sydney
thats fair dont you think
daniel_alv said on February 4, 2009 14:42:
@ konstpaus > I’m sure that Per would like to tour the whole world, but Livenation has to agree with him. If Party crasher becomes a great success in Australia, Spain and all other countries I’m sure he will make the tour longer, as he said he might. Now it is a european tour, but who knows, maybe he will tour the world in the fall, we’ll just have to wait and see how Party crasher is doing around the world.
Robbie said on February 4, 2009 14:44:
@ Raëlian
I think you misunderstood my comment. What I was saying is that Per makes more income out of his swedish stuff and so a substantial part of it is being injected into the international projects. Whenever Per goes internationally he has to secure his budget, ’cos there’s no EMI anymore backing and funding him like in the good old days. That’s why he has to release swedish stuff in the first place, with a good turnover, in order to avoid the risks of going worldwide.
SOAP was a flop and Party Crasher might be a flop as well, but he cannot afford to be a flop as a businessman. And that’s what Per is nowadays, a successful businessman...
alexandru. said on February 4, 2009 15:49:
@ pwbbounce: are you red communist, or so?
What “back to topic”? “Doesn’t make sense” if Per is no1 here in Romania, even in a local station with 1000 ppl who listen it.
Silly Really sold till 700 c. and Radios from Romania is to small for TDR or for Sir Gessle.
Let’s see how many ppl will go yo see him in London...;D
pwbbounce (moderator) said on February 4, 2009 15:56:
@alexandru - did you not read the last few posts on the thread? it was starting to talk about Pers tour as a business, and how much support he has from EMI.
This thread is not about that subject, and i was suggesting it go ’back to topic’ of Silly Really being Number 1 in Romania.
So, I’m an NOT red communist.
tevensso (moderator) said on February 4, 2009 17:13:
Per is also #1 on Radio Ljusdal, my local radio station. That’s still not news though.
And don’t compare this with the US, where one station started playing The Look. The US is the US, while Romania is... Romania. You said yourself that records don’t sell there. So really, what is the point in releasing them there?
Robbie said on February 4, 2009 17:39:
The probability these days for Per to be able to fill in a club in Romania is somehow higher than in the US...
alexandru. said on February 4, 2009 17:47:
@tevensso..well... who told you this have to be news?
It just great to see Per and NOT ROXETTE is no1 in Romania.
Robbie said on February 4, 2009 17:54:
You said Radio Ljusdal ? PC was released in Ljusdal ? It’s No. 1 over there ? Really ? I can’t believe it man... Is it in Sweden ? They broadcast in swedish ? Unbelievable...
Raëlian said on February 4, 2009 18:24:
konstpaus, if you paid 100 USD for the “I want you to know” single, let me say you’re not the best at making business! LOL!
