The Hilton Kensington is 2 minutes walk form shephards bush empire, £66 at the moment for a twin or double room for 2 adults including breakfast. This is an excellent price for a London hotel and is listed as “January sale” so book fast!
http://www1.hilton.com/en_US/hi/hotel/LHRHITW-Hilton-London-Kensington-h...
Great if you want an easy wander back form the show, not the best location for the best sights of London.
Shephards Bush Central, Goldhawk Road and Shephards Bush Hammer/City line underground stations are all very close.
These guys are great for getting round too: http://www.addisonlee.com/services/minicabs/

The only time i was there I was standing downstairs and it was general admission. I think upstairs is seated tickets, though i couldnt be sure?!

Oooh ! Just under an hour now until it’s time to buy ! I think I’ll go with “Level 1” since I’m neither punctual nor pushy enough to ever get to the front at the “Standing Area’s.”
It looks like its all unreserved spaces - apart which level you decide to be on - and I think that is a bit dumb considering their website says even if you pick level 1, 2 or 3 you might not get a seat and have to stand at the back. :S
rossyrox said on January 29, 2009 09:04:
£42.20 for unreserved standing, Ticketmaster makes me sick.
chrisjankunas said on January 29, 2009 09:07:
Yeah, quite a lot !! But I doubt this opportunity will arise again so I’m ok with mine ! Now I just have to make sure I can get there on the day so I can at least see !!!
Oh God, I’ll be finishing off Uni in that week !!!!!! :S
pwbbounce (moderator) said on January 29, 2009 09:07:
Bring it on!! All booked now!! I went for unreserved standing as well.
Can’t wait!
Roxerally said on January 29, 2009 09:08:
Same here also! Booked and printed the confirmation! :) Yipppeeeeee
pwbbounce (moderator) said on January 29, 2009 09:11:
Just printed mine as well and will put it on the wall at home!! :-)
chrisjankunas said on January 29, 2009 09:14:
I wont print it off - I need to conserve ink for my coursework ! lol. But I’m looking forward to it alot ! Never thought I’d see Roxette (or the man from Roxette) live ! Hehe heh.
I was just watching a Sheryl Crow concert filmed at Shepherd’s Bush whilst I was waiting - it looks quite nice inside !! I do wonder how strict they are about ticket types once your inside though !?
rossyrox said on January 29, 2009 09:14:
The rest of the world seems to have print them yourself tickets, not Ticketmaster, it is far more useful to them to charge £5.25 per ticket to print them and £4.95 to post them with no option of box office collection.
If I was a hacker I’d bring them down.
pwbbounce (moderator) said on January 29, 2009 09:17:
There was an option on my screen for box office collection. I’d rather get them delievered to my address though so I know I’ve got them before I leave for the venue!
chrisjankunas said on January 29, 2009 09:22:
@ If I was a hacker I’d bring them down.
lol. Yeah ticketmaster always screw you with the presale when its alloacted seats or whatnot ! Always get offered crap no matter how quickly I am able to race through the selction and stuff !!! :S
I suppose with the print-them-yoursself tickets, someone can always hack your account, duplicate the tickets and arrive there before you - making it seem like you are the thief, d’oh !
rossyrox said on January 29, 2009 09:22:
The BOC was for ROI customers only I think and even that was £3.25 !!
pwbbounce (moderator) said on January 29, 2009 11:29:
You’ll be welcome to join us!! The more the merrier! Send me a message
carlosconnelli said on January 29, 2009 11:59:

iandvedwards said on January 29, 2009 13:01:
Tickets booked now!! Ground level 1 unreserved standing - I’ve wanted to see Roxette live, but never had the chance so this was a definate must see!!! Am really excited!! :-) Would be great to meet some other Rox UK fans, so please keep me updated on what you are doing. I’ll probably only be around on the Monday afternoon for it.
Ifik said on January 29, 2009 13:47:
Hi there:) I need some advice - want to book my ticket - but dont know which category to there are: best available, level 1-3 and unreserved standing. I want to stand but not if its far away from the stage. Do you know how does it look like? Thanks and wish u nice day, Iva:)
pwbbounce (moderator) said on January 29, 2009 13:49:
unreserved standing is standing in front of the stage!! it’s only a small venue, so you’re not going to be too far away where ever you are!
onlywhenidream said on January 29, 2009 14:47:
I bought mine at 9.01am - LOL
I’m getting mine delivered - I want official tickets.
YEAH!
pwbbounce (moderator) said on January 29, 2009 14:58:

Just wanna say I’m SOOOOOOOOOOO excited to see Per in London!!!! Got my tickets, I can hardly beleive it!! Thank you Per for coming to the UK!!
NigelBarnes said on January 29, 2009 16:34:
Looks like a few of us staying in the Hilton.
Almost 10 years since the WICF promotion in London with MTV Select, Pepsi Chart Show and the Capital Radio gig and we’re back.
Bringing my wife - her second ’Roxette’ gig - eldest son’s been luckier with various trips to Sweden for the Mazarin release party and Malmo gig.
See you all there!
pwbbounce (moderator) said on January 29, 2009 16:38:
We were going to stay at the Hilton, but we found an offer too good at the Shaftsbury Metropolis in Hyde Park, we’re staying for 4 nights in London, so it was cheaper for us!
It’s going to be good to meet lots of new people!!
ncurran said on January 29, 2009 16:47:
Got my ticket this morning as well. I’ll be on my own as well. I do have a regular “concert buddy” who i go to a lot of concerts with and I did consider getting a ticket for him, but I know he wouldnt want to queue to stand at the front and I certainly will be. I dont mind standing further back normally, but generally when I am a big fan of someone i like to be near to the front.
Oh and Ive bought e-tickets from ticketmaster before, so not sure why they werent available for this gig
pwbbounce (moderator) said on January 29, 2009 16:49:
Same here - I like to get as close to the front as I can. My last concert I went to (Bon Jovi) I was in the queue from 10:30am just to get to the forth row!
I won’t be getting there that early this time! lol
gessle-addict said on January 29, 2009 16:57:
Since I’m from South America, it would be great to see pictures from you at and after the concert! ;)
Emil__BG said on January 29, 2009 17:31:
So –32 £ + £5.25 tavex ?
that’s all or there are other taxes as well?
And no option for e-mail tickets?
Where and when we can collect tickets?
And only the holder of the credit card can collect tickets?
Is the area for standing tickets big?
No way to get from level 1 or level 2 down to standing area??
If anyone buy tickets via www.ticketweb.co.uk. tomorrow -please tell how much they charge you.
Roxerally said on January 29, 2009 23:54:
You can collect tickets from the box office when you arrive... but you must present the credit card you pay with when you collect the tickets!
tina142 said on January 30, 2009 09:15:
Sometimes I wondered if I was the only Per fan in the UK!! It’ll be great to meet some Per fans. I’m still amazed I’m getting to see him. 13 weeks to go!!
pwbbounce (moderator) said on January 30, 2009 09:22:
@Tina - Welcome to TDR, theres quite a few Per fans in the UK actually. You’re going to be surprised at the show! :-)
pwbbounce (moderator) said on January 30, 2009 09:52:
If anyone wants the official UK flyer, let me know. The promoter sent me a copy. I’ve got it in either Jpeg format or PDF format. Send it local radio stations, promote the fact that ’The Man From Roxette’ is coming to town!
Send me a message saying which format you’d like and I’ll send it on to you!
mr jefferson said on January 30, 2009 12:22:
I’m thrilled to bits that I’ll finally be able to see Per live on stage - and the prospect of hearing some songs nobody’s ever heard live before sounds simply terrific. I’m originally from Germany, but I’m currently staying in England in the context of my studies at university. It would be great to meet some of you at the gig in London!

tina142 said on January 30, 2009 13:59:
Really?? I mean, I’ve loved Per for ages. I’m British but I practically know words to all his SWEDISH songs as well as his english ones!! I was in shock when I read he was doing London. I can’t wait! I’ll be travelling from Newcastle so I better get a hotel booked soon. I’m literally counting down the days!!!
tina142 said on January 30, 2009 14:02:
Roxerrally, do you know many Per fans? I know not one except my mam (who’ll be coming with me in May.) How do you think the tickets will sell for the show?
pwbbounce (moderator) said on January 30, 2009 14:08:
@Tina142 - obviously there are many many more Roxette fans than Per fans in the UK, the vast majority of UK Per fans would’ve found out about his stuff because they like Roxette. That whats happened to me.
I’m hoping that the tickets will sell very well, hopefully they will sell out. A country of 55,000,000 must have a chance of selling 2000 tickets?? Time will tell!! To be honest though, i couldn’t care if only 10 were sold! As long as I get to see Per!
tina142 said on January 30, 2009 14:25:
I totally agree. I don’t even care what he sings as long as I see him.
ncurran said on January 30, 2009 16:55:
I don’t think it will sell very quickly. The tickets are very expensive for that venue, and like it or not Roxette is Marie for much of the UK public......in fact even when I bring them up in conversation now, many people think that is her name! Having said that, concerts and events in London are generally much easier to sell than any other part of the UK and i think it will be well attended, if not completely sold out.
Roxerally said on January 30, 2009 21:54:
Tina, it would be great to catch up with other fans who we don’t know... I can think of another person who is coming down from up your way to the concert in London as well! :)
You guys, call me really silly (well perhaps it’s silly really) but I think we should pass the afternoon waiting to be let in to the venue by singing a selection of Gessle / Roxette songs, what do you say or perhaps I am really off my trolley! ;)
carlosconnelli said on January 30, 2009 22:02:
I really hope there is a good turn out, the UK has kind of ignored Rox/Per for a long time and I cant see people who aren’t die hard fans knowing the name.
Though in fairness just any chance to see him is enough for me!
Emil__BG said on January 30, 2009 22:32:
www.ticketweb.co.uk. is with 1-2 $ cheeper ,but no e-mail tickets as well.
onlywhenidream said on January 31, 2009 07:54:
@Paul - could you forward me the flyer?
I’ll be at the Hilton too. Shame I don’t live there anymore - I actually lived about 3 mins walk from the Empire, just off Goldhawk Road on a road called Benbow Road. I could have had a pre-concert party! pah!
Nevermind
It would be good to know how many of the tickets gets sold - goodness, we call allalmost be at the front by the stage! How intimate!
LOL
mr jefferson said on January 31, 2009 10:08:
Can anyone help me? I’m slightly confused. I booked a ticket for “Unreserved Standing” but I checked my order on ticketmaster this morning and it says “GROUND - GA0 - K-TYPE - SEAT 33”. That sounds as though it was pretty close to the stage (which would be fabulous, of course!) but it doesn’t make sense to me. Who can help?

rossyrox said on January 31, 2009 10:24:
Mine says the same but seat no 13, I’m guessing this is so they can reference the number of tickets sold, it will be crap if they put a load of chairs out.
Don’t waste your time asking ticketmaster I’ve found them to be very unhelpful with such queries in the past.
ncurran said on January 31, 2009 11:01:
Yeah it is just a number generated by the system....there will definitely not be seating on the ground floor. If you also check the row number it says “0”, which suggests there are no rows, ie standing
carlosconnelli said on January 31, 2009 11:27:
Really, who would want to sit and watch Per, we want to rock!
Roxerally said on January 31, 2009 11:34:
Yeah on the Ticketmaster site it tell you the numbers are just so they can keep track of the number of tickets sold! :)
mr jefferson said on January 31, 2009 11:59:
Cheers for your replies! I’m looking forward to elbowing my way to the front rows... ;-)
pym2ik said on January 31, 2009 13:54:
hey guys, I live in London, at the north side, however we cannot stop us having a pre-concert party in my place:)))) we should arrange for fan meeting as well, it will be great to see you guys, as for some of us is the first time we ll see someone that we really like after so many years
Emil__BG said on January 31, 2009 14:48:
any info when starts and when ends party?
it’s seems that last tube train is around midnight.
how can we get from Sheperd’s bush to Victoria train station after that
i mean around 2-3 a.m.
on_a_mission said on January 31, 2009 14:57:
So is there any way we can keep track of sales in the UK? I’m just curious.
ncurran said on January 31, 2009 19:09:
emil, as far as i remember the venue has a curfew of 11pm, so there should be no problem in getting the tube after the concert
Claire said on January 31, 2009 20:08:

chrisjankunas said on January 31, 2009 23:49:
I’ll be staying at home as I’m only 24 minutes away on the Central Line ! :D
I’ll be on level 1 - hopefully at the front there ! There’s no way I’d get anywhere near the front row on the ground though !!!
pym2ik said on February 1, 2009 01:37:
there r many night buses as well, from sheph. B. To victoria, but we can make it 4 the tube, specially monday night. I am 5 min from victoria and piccadily line, and i ll make it in the front row, any competention?
ncurran said on February 1, 2009 01:57:

what kind of holiday is “Early May Bank Holiday “
Is it big official holiday and most of the landmarks and shops are closed?
Roxerally said on February 1, 2009 12:11:
Okay just noticed that someone spelt Shepherd’s wrong in the title... lol, perhaps they were too excited at the prospect of Per doing a gig in London! :)
tina142 said on February 1, 2009 14:40:
Just booked my hotel at Oxford Street. i sooooooo can’t wait for this gig. Never thought I’d actually see Per, eva! I can’t wait! Hope to meet all you Per / Roxette fans. Be nice to meet some at long last, I knew they were out there!
Emil__BG said on February 1, 2009 16:06:
Roxerally you are literally right :-)
I pasted it from TDR front page -“Monday 4 May LONDON, United Kingdom, Sheperd’s Bush Empire”
But however -i guess no one is misleaded,so everyone will join us on the right place :-))
Shepherd’s Bush Empire
Shepherd’s Bush Green
London, W12 8TT
020 8354 3300
The club is big ,so maybe won’t be so easy to meet Per.
But still -it isn’t a stadium :-)
Last tours he was quite open for such meetings,so there is a chance.
Who bought tickets today -and what number is written on it?
lets see how many tickets are sold
Someone said 2000 people for whole Empire, but how much people will be let on standing area?
any guesses?
ncurran said on February 1, 2009 16:40:
emil, not sure of the numbers, but the standing area feels really small. Here is a pic of inside the venue (click on the picture to see it enlarged)
http://www.bookmetickets.com/shepherds-bush-empire.html
On the picture is the whole of the main standing area, although there is a raised platform behind the sound desk at the back of this area which probably holds another 150 people. I’m guessing there can’t be more than about 600 people in the whole downstairs area...it seems like even less than that, but i’m thinking it must be about that if the whole venue holds 2000
Mike-L said on February 1, 2009 17:18:
Full Capacity 2,000 (All Seated 1,098) so I’m guessing @ncurran is about right with 600 standing

I’m being sent quite a large amount of leaflets from the Tour Promoter. If anyone from the UK wants to have some of those sent to them (sorry, but only in the UK due to postage costs - I’m not rich!), let me know!
We can bombard our local music stores and anywhere else you can think of with leaflets. Anything to help promote the UK Show!!

Actually Paul I wanted to ask you something about Sheperd’s Bush - do the ticket outlets actually make you choose between standing / level1 /level2 / level3 or are they general tickets where you can go whereever you want.
I ask because it looks like they give you the option for some acts there to be more specific but for the same price. So I was wonsering if you have any idea on that ??
——————-
Paul mail them- and waiting for answer
3.Would be good if someone give us more info about Sheperd’s Bush Empire as well.
Is it big?Hours of operation and near transport.
