Mazarin Effect

on the cover of mazarin. how do you get that effect with your photo?

looks like a ’sepia’ effect I think. Google it. There are step by step instructions how to do it professionally and convert a standard photo. Some cameras have the setting on them.

nah, I think there is more to it than just sepia

Try with Selective colours + some unsharp mask . But the main help it would be to get the name of that effect.

Well, it’s an Anton Corbijn photo, and I’m pretty sure Anton doesn’t use Photoshop at all on his photos. But yes, you can achieve his effects via Photoshop of course.

and in the EHM video you can see some similar treatment-.- btw keep trying on PS and post some link to see the results . Good luck!

Corbijn is definitely using photo editing software, just like all the other photographers employed by Roxette.

It’s the norm these days, and it would be naive to think otherwise.

Of course he does, I didn’t mean to sound like I thought he doesn’t. What I meant is that he photographs in that special way he does, and probably with high grain film, and then possibly uses Photoshop from there.

I understand :) but because you wrote “I’m pretty sure Anton doesn’t use Photoshop at all on his photos,” it sounded as if you thought Anton doesn’t use photoshop at all.

;-)

I’m back. Per says Anton doesn’t use Ps at all; “a bit painful for us who contract him, but when you hire him you get “the real deal”. you know that when you choose him” :)

So we’re both wrong! :-D

...but I have my doubts. Per’s wrinkles are noticeably absent from certain photographs ;-)

who did they HAND cover?

I am sure that he does not tamper with the images in ps but surely he has to do something to get that effect.

It almost seem like sepia, with shadows increased and blacks increased, with turned down saturation

Anton Corbijn is Anton Corbijn...he has his typical style. I guess it’s called ART.....if art is not just short for Arthur ;)
