Bad Moon, why is´nt this masterpiece on HAND
hiowa said on December 15, 2008 12:42:
I was just listening to the wonderful Bad Moon from the change. I think the song is wonderful and I remeber I´ve read that the song was supposed to be a roxette-song in the end of the 90íes but didn´t make it.
I can´t see why? The song is better than most of the songs on the Have A Nice Day album.
tomos85 said on December 15, 2008 14:12:
It isn’t on HAND, because Illbert (producer or HAND album) thought it was boring. There’s a lot of informations concerning Have a nice day recording session in Per’s biography.

Unfortunately, a lot of people don’t speak Swedish though....

@Paul: Ha ha! Not being mean though, but you were (unintentionally?) funny!

A little bit of intentional and UNintentional humour Thomas.....

Well I don’t uderstand why this is boring and Waitinf For the Rain (even slower) isn’t.
Kiwein1 said on December 15, 2008 17:51:
WFTR features a LOT of instruments and when you pump up the volume you will see that it’s everything but boring. It’s much better than the demo and I think they had really good ideas while recording and producing it. But when I listened to it the first time I was like: What the f**k? I guess many people still think like that about this song. ;-)
But this topic is about Bad Moon and I can understand that Ilbert thought it’s boring - I mean, listen to HAND, it never would have fit on it.

Because it’s a crappy song. That’s why!
The lyrics don’t make sense. It even sounds like “broken english”. It wouldn’t fit the HAND album. It’s dated. At best, it’s an average song.
“And the time, was so rude...” - That’s not a line. That’s just incorrect rubbish.
Address the ’broken english’ lyrics and you may have something there. Otherwise the song is bad... very bad.
roxtexanet said on December 15, 2008 22:54:
The song is good... very good.
But I agree that it doesn’t fit on “Have a Nice Day” - it’s way too dark and moody - and I’m not even sure it fits on “The Change”... but it was too good not to end up somewhere, and it’s in English of course, so “The Change” makes the most sense.
rox-kuryliw said on December 16, 2008 05:11:
And the time, was so CRUEL ... not rude Derrrr i thought i had problems with english ! LOL

I think the song doesn’t fit Roxette... it’s more Marie solo...

It is boring. Illbert was right to leave it off. Fits a Marie solo album perfectly.
Roxwriter said on December 16, 2008 07:46:
No. Marie wrote/sang “the time is just RUDE”.
NOT CRUEL (which is the correct expression)
RobS said on December 16, 2008 11:09:
The lyrics in “The Change” booklet say cruel, so i’m going with that. (Although the demo was sung rude.)
Regardless, whatever the lyrics were, there would have been the opportunity to change/revise them if they decided to include it on HAND.
As the song is, i don’t think it would have worked, but if they changed the arrangement to make it less “moody”, a little more upbeat, then it possibly could have fit.
But then that might have completely ruined the song. In the end I quite like it.
piotrek6 said on December 16, 2008 12:23:
I think lyrics to that song are quite alright, actually: dark and personal. Per’s lyrics on ,Party Crasher ’ are much worse. He still writes as if he was 13 years old and it’s not funny anymore. I think he really should leave writing lyrics to someone else cos he ruins his own good songs.
Or maybe they sound stupid cos Marie doesn’t sing them.

Simply you/we are getting older
piotrek6 said on December 17, 2008 06:56:
I was just being ironic and Im half Per’s age. Lyrics to Party Crasher are pointless, forced and just waste of space which is a shame cos music with better production could be great.
imazombieinthem... said on December 17, 2008 07:49:
Per lyrics have been nothing but fluff in english, which is fine, he’s been very successful at it. We all know he isn’t one of the best songwriters of all time, but he is better than all of us in being able to put in all the ingredients to make a good song. For someone whose first language is Swedish, he does well.
piotrek6 said on December 17, 2008 08:01:
I agree , but still he runs like hit factory that I got tired of. He does too much and on the way he lost a grip, at least since ,Mazarin’.
tevensso (moderator) said on December 17, 2008 20:17:
Per writes the same kind of lyrics in Swedish as well, so you can’t really judge the English lyrics on that basis. Some lyrics mean more than others, that’s just the way it is.

“i want the lovelight in your eyes
the heartshaped carnival
of flowers and fun
melting into one
na na-na na-na na-na”
“you made me smile
the first time
that i saw you
you left me on a blanket
made of clouds
i dreamed i watched the sun
playin’ in your eyes
the lights turned down”
Are these lyrics pointless? and worse than those, which he wrote 20 years ago? ???
I think they are the same. (Good) :-)
Kiwein1 said on December 18, 2008 18:56:
Not worse than 20 years ago but still nothing special. Did you ever listen to - let’s say - Aimee Mann? Then you know everything you need to know about good lyrics. ;-)

While outside, the sun is shining on

I don’t think it is more sensible than Per’s lyrics. But if you consider his lyrics pointless, you don’t have to listen to his songs.
Kiwein1 said on December 20, 2008 21:32:
I don’t listen to his music (very often), but thanks for the tip! ;-)
(Even if there was one of Aimee’s texts not better than Per’s there would be still dozens which are. And maybe you should read the complete lyrics and try to tell what it’s about, you couldn’t do it. BTW: How long have you been looking for these lines? ;-)) But this isn’t an Aimee Mann forum so maybe we should stick to the topic.

Oh!! please!! Just give it a rest? Will you? We all love Per but anyone who’s trying to prove that Per’s lyrics make sense is desperate. The only think I like is that he write lyrics which may be relevant to many situations. But really since Marie don’t sing his lyrics it shows how weak and forced they may sound. I liked his TWATG lirycs though ,Kix’ or ,Ill be alright ’ cos they’re are quite cool.

Iv always loved this song. I think i prefer the demo. A mix between the demo and change version would be good. I prefer the high pitch chorus in the demo. Love the ending on the change version.
Back to the question, yes would it of fit perfect on HAND. Not on RS though.
