Crappy Christmas album

Some crappy Christmas album is keeping Per’s new album out of the #1 spot in Sweden for the first time since “The Pop Hits.” Anyone know anything about it? Is it some kind of “Idols” thing or something? It’s by Sanna, Shirley, and Sonja, and is called “Our Christmas.” I hate Christmas music, so despite the fact that I’ve never heard this album or Per’s (yet... hurry up slow mail!), I’m going to feel quite comfortable in saying that “Partycrasher” is better and should have been #1 (-:

Of course I’m biased, but yes, this is a shit album and unfortunately the kind of albums that sell well here in Sweden.

’Idols’ (or UK X Factor) albums always sell well everywhere. Typical rubbish as well. Per should’ve kept with his original release date!

I hope Party Crasher’s got some heavy staying power on the chart, though. Pretty bad reviews it’s got, hope his audience disagrees.
We should get the next single!

Hmmm... so it seems the “Shirley” in this trio is Shirley Clamp, whose most notable achievement is charting with covers of Marie’s and Roxette’s songs... so in a really roundabout, backwards, nonsensical way, Per (and Marie) is still responsible for the number 1 album this week... :-D

Dont take it too tragic. Party crasher got platinum award after first week after release and this is really importand. For example SOAP got also one platinum in first week after release /only difference was that it debuted on Nr. 1/.

Sanna, Shirley and Sonja are all “Stars” from “The Swedish song contest” (Melodifestivalen). They are not good!! But beacuse the Melodifestivalen is a big thing i Sweden they sell good, especially when it is a Christmas album, for some reason they always sell alot in Sweden. Maybe Per should do a Christmas album, haha, or not....

@animalkingdom...bad reviews...I think PC has gotten pretty good reviews, 3 out of 5 in Aftonbladet, Expressen, Svenska Dagbladet and Dagens nyheter (“the big four”) and for me 3 out of 5 is what Per usually get in Sweden....

xmas music charts have been ruined by Tv shows in opinion.

Sonja Aldén and Sanna Nielsen are good singers with a well established reputation in Sweden. They have nothing to do with “Idol”. Even if I am not that fond of their style, some of their songs are really good. The fact that Party Crasher is not #1 doesn’t make this ladies bitches. And if it reaches #1 or #2, does it change anything? I couldn’t care less.

Sonja’s “För att du finns” is an amazing song:

Sanna’s “Vågar du, vågar jag”:

Some people is not yet aware that the Swedish musical scene is not only limited to Per and Marie. Don’t be so narrow-minded, please! You have not listened to this album, but you already said it’s crap. Many people might think the same about Roxette and the Per solo stuff, that’s why this X-mas album charts even higer.

Check your facts first next time, Wikipedia is always helpful.

Sonja Aldén is a great singer. För att du finns is great and Du får inte is even better. She has participated in Melodifestivalen.

Sanna Nielsen is also a great singer and has also participated in Melodifestivalen. This year she won the peoples votes with Empty heart (but lost the competition since Perelli with Hero got more jury votes) which in my opinion is a really great song!

Shirley started as far as I know in a “idol” show called Famefactory. She has later also participated in Melodifestivalen. Her songs is not my cup of tea but she is a good singer. And she has sung a cover of “It must have been love” (När kärleken föds). I think she also has sung Marie covers in TV?

They had a TV-show with their christmas songs some days ago and maybe the tv-adds for that and the show it self helped the album a bit? (the charts counts until tuesday if I’m right) It’s also possible that some of pers legal downloads was counted to last weeks chart since the download was released on a monday (don’t know how they count anymore)? Maybe also the christmastime made it sell more, Per can still climb to #1 next week.

EDIT: PS! Party crasher got a 4 out of 5 in Dagens industri (swedish daily business paper - www.di.se)

@Room_Service: Who - besides you - said anything about these performers being “bitches”? Sounds pretty narrow-minded to me. In any case, if you care to re-read what I actually wrote, I asked whether the performers were “Idol” contestants (“Melodifestivalen” is pretty much the same thing, in my opinion, but I digress), I confessed that I hadn’t heard the album, and then I judged it as crap because it’s Christmas music, which I hate, and I would hate it even if Per and Marie were performing it. Anything else you need clarification on, or were you just looking for an excuse to go on a pointless tirade?
