not only roxette having probs with MTV...

the german rock/metal band “die böhsen onkelz” published a single titled “keine amnestie für MTV”
(no amnesty for MTV)
and started a campaign against hyped boy/girl/groups which seem to come out of factories (shitney, christina, etc; n-sync, westlife, bsb,..........) and get hyped even more by getting more and more bandwidth of the MTV/Viva programme. The “Böhse Onkelz” mention that the success of an artist/band depends 100% on the sympathy the media jerks have for them (sympathy = amount of money you can make with that new singing barbie/ that singing kens)
...and they are absolutely RIGHT!
(pity that they have their website only in german... will ask em for english translation *eg*)
get in their guestbook and write your support!

someone who cud make a “ARTISTS AND FANS AGAINST FAKE MEDIA” website???? :))
uhmm... and some german who’d like to translate the statement from www.onkelz.de (kommt im popup auf der startseite...ich hab keine zeit :(( )

with all due respect, the reason MTV is not playing die böhsen onkelz is not the same as in the case of Roxette. For once I have to say thank you MTV for not making me listen to that SH*T!

It’s impossible to hear The Cardigans on MTV UK & Ireland anymore (oh, I remember the days when I’d see My Favourite Game on MTV and turn the volume up as high as I could,........COME BACK M.F.G)

Seems like it’s still possible to have a hit in Germany without being played on radio or TV at all (or almost, guess the single got more attention by the media cos of its title) - I just heard on the radio that after being in the stores for only four days, the single will enter the single charts at #1 on March 3rd! Wish something similar would happen to Roxette... but I guess we’ll need a miracle for that :-(

it’s just national tv-cannel and name comes from Mainostelevisio (=commercial tv) and it’s 3rd channel here. *grin*
