Argentina not to join the "Party"

Hej everyone!
EMI Argentina has just confirmed they have no plans for releasing Gessle’s “Party Crasher” in the country. This decision probably affects Uruguay and Chile, I guess, as those countries usually follow similar release schedules for international artists.
The weirdest of it all is that Marie’s latest compilation in Swedish was edited and released for the local market earlier this year and it even reached the official album charts!
¡Saludos!
Ezequiel.

@Favio.posca,
1· I don´t know were you live but definitely not in Argentina.
2· Den Ständiga Resan & I En Tid Som Vår, were traded through an import channel not pressed in Argentina as well as The World According to Gessle and The lonely Boys of wich both lead singles were on the main radios of Argentina. If you remember something happened in february 2002 and since then it´s hard to see imported records in major stores.
3·”EMI Knows perfecty what kind of stuff sells very well” that´s why sells a swedish record of Marie and forgot to sell The Change, the only english record of Marie.
4· “Marie fredriksson is very well known respected artist”, Yes! She is! I love her music too! and We in Argentina, the fans know her and maybe some older Roxette fan too. Almost nobody knows something about Marie´s & Per´s solo proyects.
5· Hey Mr Dj from SOAP, was officially distributed to the Radio in an attemp to introduce the Record.
It´s sad to see that EMI won´t sell the Party Crasher yet, but i think that depends off the success of the record in Europe and if it´s released in USA.

I’d take this kind of comments quite carefully. Marie’s latest compilation was released in Sweden on December 2007. I am sure EMI Argentina had no plans for a local pressing at that time, but it was finally out in June 2008. Since “Party Crasher” has not seen the day of light in Sweden yet, it’s way too early to ask about a possible local release. No other European country has confirmed it either. Just wait and see what happens in Europe, and email them again in a few months. If the album is a success abroad, maybe they will change their minds.
Regarding Marie, I don’t think there’s a big difference between Marie and Per as solo artists. From a commercial point of view, the Per solo albums are prone to sell better than the Marie ones. I hardly believe that Marie “sells only with her name” - maybe in Sweden, but not here. Even if I love her music, not many people is likely to buy an album sung in Swedish here in Argentina.

I was talking with Celeste from EMI Argentina early in the evening.
No plans for release Party Crasher,EMI Argentina are not interested in Gessle solo work.
They’ve released TFTMFB coz they think Marie offers something different musically.extrange language as swedish make the difference for people who want to know more about the girl of Roxette.
EMI Argentina think that PG sounds exactly the same as solo or in Roxette. It has no meaning.
In fact,TFTMFB was realeased and Party Crasher won’t.
sweet dreams

Yes, that’s why TFTMFB was so very much promoted and sold so many copies. Because Marie sells with only her name. Who else would buy an album in Swedish? Only the Roxette fans, indeed. If they think Marie offers something different, I’d like to ask why they didn’t release “The Change” when they had the opportunity... And I don’t think the common people know she’s “the girl of Roxette” when they read Marie Fredriksson anywhere.
Whatever you say, I don’t care. No other country besides Sweden has confirmed plans about a PC release. They have to wait and see what happens there in Scandinavia first. It doesn’t surprise me that they have no plans of release (yet).
PD: To your knowledge, I am not Paul Hakan. Sorry to disappoint you.

Once again...
To Room_service,7twenty7,Paul Hakan,Fabio (your real name) or whatever you want to be called:
TFTMFB WAS released and Party Crasher WON’T!!!
hehehehe face it,and say and think what you want.
Room_service said on November 13, 2008 19:34:
Paul Hakan also posts in the Gessle forum (www.gessle.com) and it seems he’s from Czech Republic or Hungary. Check your facts first, because I have nothing to do with that guy.
The fact “TFTMFB was released”... I do not understand your point. Do you want to start another Marie vs. Per battle? Come on, grow up a little! I am almost 30 (that’s adult enough) to not take part in such a childish matter. One way or another, I don’t think the Marie’s CD has sold more than 50 or 60 copies here. Who else would buy a CD sung in Swedish? Nobody, but Roxette fans and curious people who like the so-called “world music”. But it was not a top seller.
Last but no least, I couldn’t care less about a local release. I never wait for the EMI decisions, then I end up buying the European CD as always. As simple as that.

EMI Argentina knows perfecty what kind of stuff sells very well.
Marie fredriksson is very well known respected artist.
Years ago Den Ständiga Resan & I En Tid Som Vår was comercialized here too.
Marie is JUST Marie Fredriksson!! Sells only with her name!!!
