The TWATH Demos

I had the chance finally to catch up with the demos that became the basis for this spectacular Per solo album that still sounds so much Roxette to me. But the demos were not so different as I had expected ... still I found the Kix cool and also I Want You To Know...
What about you?

I Like Intro of the song “Every Day outside my windows”. Similar like ” Genius Gone Wrong”.

So strange how Marie transformed that song all around ... unbelievable! lol

have you guys noticed that on the Be anyone you wanna be demo, the intro sounds exactly as the Opportunity Nox chorus!

Even “Beautiful Things” sounds 200% different from Marie’s version. God bless Marie for having given both those lyrics a different and more touching approach ... Not that Per had done anything wrong with those 2 demos but I guess from a personal opinion and taste ... she managed to enlight both songs quite better in her own way.
I guess the backing vocals might have been done by Per on his falsetto style alongside MP Persson has usually demos were usually done by both on T&A studio, am I wrong? But maybe some of these demos have Chris doing backing vocals ... the thing with demo backing vocals on the Rox camp is that they are all so filled of “falsettos” wonder why? LOL
By the way personal fav demo “Making Love To You” ... so beautiful as the rox version... Trully amazing and true...

Also, track 7 (can’t remember which one it is now) but it has EXACTLY the same intro as Stay (At Home, At Work, At Play). Per must have really liked that intro! ha ha.
Also, I really did cringe when in ’writer’ he sang about ’..initerview some guy called Per’. ’It sounds much less concieted in ’Reporter’ when he sings about ’...interview Marie and Per’! LOL
Also I have to say that Beautiful Things is stickinig in my mind quite a lot, nice melody.
On one song (again, I can’t remember which it is at the moment, sorry!) but it sounds like ’Is This The Way to Armarillo’.... LOL
Great CDs though - thanks PG (Tips).

Well that was an interesting listen. There are definitely some cringeworthy lyrics in there, thankfully they got changed in the final versions.
I think someone mentioned about ’Elvis in Deutschland’, it’s got a great melody, but it seems to be the wrong song. I’d love to hear it in another song, i even think that part of it may have been used in some other song, sounds slightly familiar.

haven’t you noticed that most of pers songs are simillar, but strangly yet they arent.
that’s what i love about pers songs, that he can take the lack of note-skils and make such beautiful songs...

I liked Per’s versions of Every day, especially the uptempo part, as the beginning is 100% Stay (at home, at work, at play), and Beautiful things, but I also appreciate that we have both versions of these songs to see how the same thing can transform into something quite different. Elvis in Deutschland sounds so melancholic - I like it too:))) What I didn’t like that much is the similarity between demos and final versions... I supposed it’s because Per’s demos are actually far from being demos, as they sound really worked on. Anyway, nice to have them!
