Roxette Tourism long-pack picture wanted

Hey guys!

Does anybody have a nice picture of the cover of Roxette’s Tourism that wat released in the long-pack in the USA? The catalogue number is EMI / E2-99929.

You can contact me at [email protected]

Thanx!
CoyRoy

I can get one, what’s the purpose? Does a photo suffice?

The purpose will be private, of course. I just want to see the details on the cover.
But I can’t find a scan anywhere - the pic in The Look For Roxette is SO small.
The cover just looks more interesting in the long-pack design.

Oh Dear Gosh!!! That’s like the most wonderful gift from you, Tevensso!!
Thanx!! You’re a great help!!

Now I can finally see what is hidden behind all those text from the cd!!!
Thanx a billion!!

Nice pic.

What exactly is this “Long-Pack” thing??

CDs were sold in these boxes in the US for a short while. Guess they were trying out different methods to display these new things called CDs.

I never saw a long-pack in my life..LOL... One more technical question (I just noticed Look Sharp! was also released in this format - do you have that pic?):
My question: Was the actual cd the normal size of an ordinary cd we know??

I do and yes. The normal CD is inside the longpack. You just open the end and take it out and never use the pack again.

Never use the cover again?? Oh no

Do you know of a site where they have these 2 cd’s for sale??

Sorry no, and there’s also Joyride. :) I’ll scan them both when I have time.

Those packages pop up quite rarely in Ebay, but if you are looking for a bargain this is not the case.

Wow, I didn’t know that Joyride was also released in a long-pack.... I’ll be OVERJOYED if you could scan those 2 covers too. Thanx!

I see that Celine Dion’s new album “Taking Chances” is also released in a long-pack in the US... so, I guess this format is still used today.

Hope Tev will remember to make those scans...LOL

Not forgotten. I’ll do it after my massage.

Tev!!! Dude!!! Thanx a million!!

Wonder why LS was released only on 12 track in the US.... Did they leave “(I Could Never) Give You Up” out like on the cassette??

I think the LS vinyl had 12 tracks all over the world, not only in the US. Same about Joyride, when “Church of your Heart” was scrapped.

No the CD had 13 tracks, it’s a typo.

don’t ya just hate typing errors!!

The LP has 12 songs on it as well. Maybe they used the same picture to make both the LP sleeve and the long-pack. Makes sense, somehow.

tevensso: thank you very much for the scans :) While I was reading your post “Guess they were trying out different methods to display these new things called CDs.”, I was laughing out loud. What times were there!!! It seems like ages ago :)

Ha ha. Some more trivia: did you know that the jewel packs CDs come in was to be a temporary solution? Jeez, it’s been, what, 28 years? The first ever CD was ABBA’s Super Troupers, or if it was The Visitors, I forget. But I do think it was The Visitors, it was 1982 at least.
@727: Most likely.

That’s interesting, never heard about that before. I wonder what other designs they had in mind?

@tevensso: thank you for the story :) It seems that spending my time in the forum is definetely not the waste of time :P

The first commercial CD album was released in Japan, in October 1982. It was Billy Joel with ’52nd Street’

Some sources say it was Abba’s “The Visitors”... who knows. 1st ever 5 track CD-single was out 1986
