Reveal vs. Hometown

When I listen these two song I think that better is Hometown than Reveal.
And my latest collection of Marie and Per is:

Could be a “new” Roxette album - 2007 with name “Roxette - Hometown”, that’s a good idea

I don’t think a MB song would make it into a roxette album, he’s a great producer and musician but his style doesn’t fit with the rest of the songs.

I don’t know why Hometown is so special for many people. For me, it’s a flat song with not much originality on it. It’s like other songs Marie has writen before, nothing new.

I prefer Reveal, no doubt.

I can’t decide what I prefer, but Hometown is definetely the best song on Mikael’s album.

Hometown is a very dear song to me, maybe because I’m a melancholic person and every time I listen to it a mood of melancholy descends on me.

The voice arrangements, the lyrics and the mood of the song create a cosy atmosphere.

So, I prefer Hometown.

The musical styles of both songs are basically the same, but the messages the songs carry over to the listener are quite different.

Stating the obvious: Hometown is basically a conversation with someone from the past, someone the singer/writer grew up with. A trip down memory lane. Reveal is about finding love and giving into the powers of love and sharing your life with someone special. Finding luck.

I like both, Marie’s vocals are perfect on both songs. I can’t choose!! Really great songs!! I think Mikael did a great job in creating a song that sounds like a song Marie had written herself - sounds like the Marie of the past. Nice!! I just wish Marie would have put a lot more OOMF into Reveal’s chorus - like on Spending My Time....
