Yes, great song. With new, fresh sound and fantastic rifs in the second half of the song. I like Per´s: “It´s a crazy world out there, let´s hope our prayers are in good hands tonight.” BTW demo is also fantastic.

Another song I really loved at the time. This was one song that I listened to the Top 40 every week just to hear what they would say. I think i’ve still got a tape around here of it?
I love how it starts so gentle but builds into a huge rock ballad almost.

Was one of the few Rox singles I bought and listened a lot to it at that time. Nowadays I prefer the demo version.

This song belongs to their weaker ones, I just miss something there... I might agree it sounds like a parody.

I love Almost Unreal. Wasn’t very impressed by the live version on the Crash! Boom! Bang live video though. It sounded a bit odd to be honest. The demo is also great as well.

I don’t know why but these days I enjoy Almost Unreal as never before. The live version is great!

I really love this song!
It´s on my “top 10” for Roxette songs.

The demo version is way better in my opinion. The demo should have been the official final version instead.
Take care!

I began listening to Roxette in 1993, but wasn’t really a fan - although I love the Tourism version of IMHBL... and I thought - well, Marie has a great voice, but I don’t know if Roxette is for me...
Then later that same year, they started playing Almost Unreal on the radio stations in SA, and when I heard the chorus I instantly fell in LOVE with Roxette and from that first sounds of the chorus on, I knew I would LOVE this band forever!
Great song, great rocking ballad and Marie singing like a godess...
Per mentioning that the song is a “parody” of Roxette... ghmf - he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Take a bow for this song!!

I never liked the demo. The song is not suitable for Per’s voice at all. And the arrangement is kinda raw and weak too, sounds more like a midi. Like in most of the cases, any song is better if sung by Marie.
I just can’t believe some people prefer the demo over the final version...

I love the song. It really holds a special place in my heart.
At the time I liked it the most,n the height of its popularity, was when I met my partner.
The Line, ” I do believe love came our way, and fate did arrange for us to meet”.
was so perfect to us and our meeting. This is a song that when its played, always reminds me of that really special time.

I remember seeing it on Video Hits (Australia) around the time of Mario Brothers.
Awesome.

I remember hearing about this song from a pen pal and I immediately called up my local radio station to request it (as if that would work now!!). And they played it! I had to listen for hours, but from the first few notes I got goose bumps and just knew this was the new Roxette song. Nothing else then or now sounds like they did back then. I still love this song - fantastic contrast in the verses and chorus, great bridge... even the video is excellent (-:

This song actually MADE me a Roxette fan... I love the video to death. Marie never looked as pretty as she did on that video. So vibrant and funky! GRRRRRREAT SONG!!

I was so eager to have that song that I bought the Mario Bros soundtrack album and it also contained Marie’s version of Cinnamon Street. All the other songs sucked, hehe... but I was so happy to listen to Almost Unreal over and over again! :-)

Mmmm, I don’t agree. I don’t think all the other songs sucked, it’s a quite nice compilation in my opinion. Even my mum used to play it quite often. I still play it from time to time, but I have to confess I skip ’Almost Unreal’, as I got a little tired of the song.

Yeah, I remember hearing this tune in my car in my neighborhood heading for work. A girl called a local station and requested the tune and I hadn’t owned the single yet but, when the bass line kicks in after 40 seconds or so, I was SOLD! A great Roxette memory for me, driving in the car alone and the windows down on a warm day. Will always be a memory for me.

It was released in May ’93, after Fingertips (February). The first Roxette single I bought without hearing it before. Switched play, closed my eyes and got massive goose pumps. 100 x replay after that. Great memories!
Roxette themselves played it down as a parody of themselves in the DBU-GTTC liner notes. I’m sure they changed their mind by now. ;-)
