I don’t like this article very much - “ran out of ideas after SOAP”?! Great way to sell your new album, Per :-D And kind of a slam to the Roxette tracks, too... I think “Reveal” at least was quite different for Roxette (it must be, I didn’t like it very much and I love 99% of all Rox songs!). “One Wish” might not have been the most original Rox song, but it certainly had that special sound only Roxette can capture. Hmmm...

I don’t think ’Reveal’ is all that different - just a cross between ’Breathe’ and ’Milk And Toast And Honey’. As for ’One Wish’ - it was nice to hear a Roxettish-Roxette song at first - but I don’t like it much now. I hope only ’Reveal’ makes it onto the next Greatist Hits album :P
I AM surprised about the ’not constantly writing songs’ thing. I must admit, I did think he was always writing, but that somehow did feel unreal. It is nothing shameful to admit. I guess it does show in the demos, or lack of them, nowadays.

it’s not that he writes bad songs now it that the good ones he does come up with he wastes on his solo work or gives to other people, if the hits songs we’re something in the system and i like it like that they both would have been #1’s with or without marie

Per says there that SOAP is the coolest album he’s ever done, and that he sort of run out of ideas after that. He planned to do a SOAP album in swedish with EHM.
When asked about Roxette and GT he says that there are no plans. He says as well that he’s not sure about Roxette’s comeback being what he had expected: “It was difficult to get into it with so little: only two new songs”.
He says that while most of the people think that he writes songs all the time, it hasn’t been that way for some years now. He writes when he’s in the mood of doing so. He says that the song “Min hälsning” is an unreleased GT song from 1978 he rescued for EHM.
Please feel free to correct this or add more information, it’s just what I understood from the article. Thanks abysmo for posting the link!
