Miss roxette so much

My wife said to me: Christian, how old are you? I tell her, Iàm thirty.
She told me so, because I´m still so fanatish for roxette. But in my opinion it is okay.
Here again a big wish:
Make new material. The world misses the roxette guitar sound!!!
Have a nice day

per said the guitar sound is dead for roxette in the rox box didn’t he? I miss them too, heck at this point I’d even kill for a few live albums..i can’t even begin to think about trying to find another greoup I’d like if there were no more roxette
Jakubek said on May 1, 2007 13:52:
I miss them both too so much.
I don’t care about their other projects. I always listen to this but it doesnt’t mean for as much as Roxette! I’m looking forward to hear some new material. Please...
CRIZ said on May 1, 2007 17:30:
Yes! Roxette is still the best of all their projects!!!! Pers songs and Maries voice - that’s what I need to feel happy when it comes to music! And I really hope, that if we get some new material one day, that they both return to their guitar roots. A mix of “Joyride”, “Look Sharp” and “CBB!” would be perfect for me. But yes, you can’t turn back the time.....
@Christian: believe me, being a fan shouldn’t have something to do with age.

When i read this i had to laugh. It reminded me when I was 17 HAND had just come out to the market and everyone was going insaaaane if that’s not too little to say. Because of all the non-rock material in it and the too synth-techno sounding tracks and bla bla bla ... so it was almost paradoxic that you ended up wishing a “cbb” sound and saying goodbye using the expression related to “the most hated” rox album ever by the... fans! LOOL
It just brough me some hilarious memories from all those dramatic arguments and catfight people used to have here all the time because of HAND. Maybe that is why I also miss Roxette...
At least I have feeding myself listening to “Reveal” ... it’s the solely song that i want to hear as it puts them close to me at the present moment.

I miss them as well, a lot. I really love their music. But, well, we will have to wait and be positive about Roxette’s future.
“My wife said to me: Christian, how old are you? I tell her, Iàm thirty”
Hahaha!!! Don’t worry Christian. I’m 30 as well and I listen to that question very often for the same reason. I think people who don’t love Roxette as we do don’t understand how deep is our passion for them.
conradnel said on May 4, 2007 19:51:
Hey there!
If they can’t beat you, let them JOIN you!! Make them RoxFreaks like you are! 29 here, and MADE my wife like their music... Okay, I assume she will never be as passionate as I am about Roxette, but at least she doesn’t think I’m completely crazy, as she does enjoy their music!
I often check these pages for a spark of hope, but are usually disappointed with NO REAL NEW NEWS about Roxette...
Roxette-atic said on May 4, 2007 22:52:
Me too, missing Roxette like crazy! Off course I listen to solo projects and stuff like that, but they will never mean as much as Roxette to me. Roxette is THE BIG THING.
AURYTE said on May 5, 2007 00:00:
@conradnel: I think, we all, more or less, promote Roxette just by loving their music. I remember a day, when my friend visited me. She saw the latest Roxette compilation and shouted: oh yes, Roxette celebrate their anniversary this year!!!

Yes, it was great to have new Roxette material. At least two new songs. Last autumn was really exciting. Hope that there will be something more in the future.

Hey Chritian, I’m 34 & 10myhs. My husband always rolls his eyes when I mention Roxette’s name. He’s never been into any celebrity, so he don’t understand us. I miss ’em here, too. If they ever come here again, my sister-in-law’s comin’ with me to their show. As long as it’s not gonna cost $200 Aussie dollars> Concerts are too expensive nowadays. The last Roxette show that’s ever hit Aussie shores was the “Crash!Boom!Bang!” tour. I’m glad with internet now, I’ve found that they are still makin’ music. I just got their new greatest hits cd and I’m gonna get the Rox Box next week. You’re not alone buddy. Cheers!!

I also long for those old times, when I was younger, cooler, and roxette was number one in all charts, But was a stage of my life that I have already closed..., and i don’t like to re-open stages....... I don’t miss it and I don’t care if roxette disappear and never released an album again. I think roxette has given me a lot and I’m happy with it.

I never loose the hope that rox will come back with a new album, in a time where no one believed in it.

I also miss Roxette so much! I have been a Roxette fan since 1992 when I was 14. Roxette have been a part of half of my life. I was happy from their new albums, I could go to their concerts and so on. It was so great time!! In 2002 I remember I said myself a lot of things have changed in my life, only Roxette still stay. I don´t have to write how I was happy!!!
modernatidergt25 said on October 13, 2007 16:22:
get over it, roxette is never coming back again, at least not as the way we knew it.
Julz said on October 13, 2007 21:33:
Well I gotta come to terms with them not doin’ anythin’ in Oz, besides releasing albums. That’s all we get here now. I have to rely on internet and lookin’ through music stores to see if they’ve released anythin’. There’s absolutely no promotion happenin’ here.

PER, MARIE, c’mon guys!!! We respect your priivacy, your priorities in life but please give another thought to an album or two. It should be easy for you guys with so much experience and not to mention resources that you have. Hell, I can make an album sitting in my house and all that I know, it’s because I learned so much from you guys!! C’mon Marie, darling, please give it a shot?

zeeshan said on October 26, 2007 23:02:
Coming from a band like Roxette, yes, it kind of was! Everybody is allowed mistakes and Roxette made one by making HAND what it was.
animalkingdom said on October 26, 2007 23:32:
Have A Nice Day was no mistake. It was Roxette at the time. Nowadays it sounds like one of the their more inspired moments, if you ask me. The follow up (Room Service), however is kind of a boredom....Reminds me of a B-side collection...
AURYTE said on October 27, 2007 12:20:
Yes, Have A Nice Day is one of the best Roxette albums, if you ask me.

After a single like “One Wish”, I don’t think they are inspired enough to produce an album like HAND. Time has proven it was one of their best albums, that still sounds ok today. Even if fans like you label it like a “bad album” or a “mistake”, which is not true.
I would say “I’d kill for a RS even!” instead, it sounds more sensible ;-)

Yes, One Wish is great song, something like How Do You Do! 2006. And I also like HAND album. Fresh, modern, melodic and real hits including.

“One Wish” was 20 steps back. Sounds like it was recorded in 1987, not fresh but totally out-of-date and embarrasing - fairground music. After that song, I lost any credibility on Roxette. Luckily, they released “Reveal” afterwards, which made me think they still have some talent as a group.
I wonder if some critic or musician has taken “One Wish” seriously. I doubt it. Coming from Roxette, it was like a joke.
abysmo said on October 28, 2007 07:13:
Well, I think the same about Reveal. Weakest song ever. Thank God for remixes.

Gachy even if fans like you label “One Wish” like a “bad song” or a “mistake”, which is not true, I like it a lot. For me it’s like 20 steps forward. As for critics I don’t give a damn for their opinions. Tastes differ. Speaking of HAND, it’s not a bad album at all, it’s just different. And Roxette got a lot of new fans that’s for sure. I have a neighbor who just hated Roxette (guess why) and after he heard HAND he told me “Oh, I’m so glad, finally they have recorded a good album” He is not the only one who told me that. On our local FM station every single song from HAND got a lot of airplay, especially CRUSH ON YOU, that never happened with RS though I like it much more
BTW if I am to kill someone I would do it only for CBB 2
imazombieinthem... said on October 28, 2007 11:58:
Their last 2 singles One Wish and Reveal are their weakest singles yet. For a band fading away they seem to be doing it the right way. One Wish crashes and burns after Marie starts her vocals and it gets worse from there. Nothing wrong with Maries singing or Pers but the lyrics are crap and the song structure we have heard a million times before. It just sounds so boring to listen to. Then between these releases Per made some brilliant solo material because he isn’t shackled up to a particular sound, can experiment and it all sounds fresh. I hate to say it but it feels like there’s no room for the Roxette sound we know and love in the current music climate.

I’ve never been against synths and electronic sounds in Rox songs, but those synths in One Wish are just stupid. They could have chosen hunderds of better arangments. There are some special moments in Reveal, but one third of the song is somehow boring.
And I think HAND is a very good album, which contains their best uptempos (Crush On You, Pay The Price, 7twenty7)... but it’s a shame that are too many orchestral ballads, it’s kinda stereotypical.
If Roxette return they should record something quite different from music on their previous albums
pepevaros said on June 8, 2008 15:57:
btw i adore their music... although i wasn’t even born when they were playing... i’m only 15 now, but they rox!
7-Twenty-7 said on June 9, 2008 00:01:
Wicf, I agree with you. One Wish sounds like rubbish to my hears. Even to the Roxette standards, it could be no more than a B-side. Just compare it with Spending My Time, Wish I Could Fly or (even) Real Sugar. It’s not in the same league. One Wish, on one of the classic Roxette albums, could be only a filler.
On the other hand, Reveal is one of the sweetest and classiest tracks they ever recorded. I am very proud of that song. It’s a real shame it didn’t get the promotion and airplay it truly deserved. One Wish got it, tho... *puke*
