In the latest review for the movie “Words & Music” starring Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant, the author takes a swipe at our beloved pop duo.
Hmmmm. . . .

Well I thought the movie was excellent, I really enjoyed it. I LOVE the song “A way back into love”
For guitar players, check out the chords, capo on 3 really easy

Urm now that’s the South African media for you - right now they are not very concerned about what’s happening in Europe... but strange that the US still makes headlines. They might now realize it now, but Per’s one of the most promising song writers of our generation!

Nils van der Linde is such a geek/prick anyways. He only gives art movies good reviews, and once in a while a drama. Anything else is just a waste of time and celluloide. Dont take him too seriously. His idea of a good is a non entertaining one. Its always serious and 8 times out of 10, boring. And I doubt his music taste is any better.

I forgot to mention that it’s not the first time a South African journalist showed ignorance toward’s Per talent - I personally view it (besides ignorance) as a lack of imagination.

Actually, given that IMHBL and LTYH are - almost 20 years later - two of the most frequently played songs in the history of radio indeed making an impact, I’d say that’s a big compliment to Ms. Barrymore (-:

Well well well - Yo! TV (for you of you outside of SA its a kids TV channel) has Rox’s One Wish as their #3 most voted for video this week!!! Seems like the kids in SA have great taste after all. :o)
You can vote again tomorrow on their Saturday morning show.
Cheer cheers

Hey ’Ro, heheh that’s super weird indeed! BTW u know what time the show is?
purplemedusa said on March 9, 2007 13:29:
Urm how about recording some of it & popping it on .co.za?
FirstGirlOnTheMoon said on March 9, 2007 14:09:
Yo!TV starts somewhere around 5:00 and last up to 10:00 (you can check their schedule here: http://www.sabctv.co.za/content/programschedule.asp?pid=99&day=3_9_2007). If I remember correctly, they have the chartshow sort of halfway through. So, the only way to know for sure is to actually sit there the whole morning watching it. *runs for the hills*
Anyway, I’ll vote if someone lets me know when and what the number. Sadly, I can’t sit in front of the TV the whole day.
Either way, thumbs up for the kids.
FirstGirlOnTheMoon said on March 10, 2007 11:59:
Thanks for the number, those who forwarded it to me.
Do you think we should keep on voting? Maybe we can help the kids push the song to #1! ;)
Since this topic is actually about the (South) African media, here’s a very positive review of Hits, from this week’s Huisgenoot (don’t ask :P). Non-South Africans: Huisgenoot is the biggest Afrikaans weekly magazine in the country.
Here goes (sorry if my translation sucks):
Pop fun at it’s best. That is what Roxette was responsible for at the peak of their career. This collection of hits, including two new ones, will make pop fans remember why this Swedish supergroup dominated the charts worldwide in the 90’s. The most of the songs will have you singing along. 4 Stars (out of a possible 5)

Hey saw the YOU review... a little bit on the thin side, but atleast it’s a positive one!
So anyone got any idea what the result of the SMS-ing was?

It seems that kids have a good taste. New Roxette fans generation? LOL
