i‘m not making any comment about marie‘s health - give this poor woman a break will you!! we‘re all fans of hers and therefore worried about her but speculations and rumours will not help her - it might even hurt her when she gets to hear what so-called fans are saying about her.

cancer affects not only your health but changes the way you think, feel and look at things that you once felt were important. as i‘ve previously mentioned, i‘m going through a similar experience with my girlfriend, so i can hopefully give an ‘insider‘s‘ view on things. just because the treatment ends it does not mean that you will return to the way you were before within days - as per once said ‘it‘s not like she had a cold‘. my girlfriend has finished chemo. but we both know that the battle is far from finished.

maire has said in previous interviews that music is not as important to her anymore (she has never said that she has given up on it) and that she doesn‘t feel she has the energy for touring and all the work that is involved in putting out records. is this really a surprise - she was seriously ill remember with a disease that claims the lives of far too many people.

as for zlatyvoci claiming that the news has come from emi and is therefore true - where did he/she get this information from. as somebody who has worked within the music industry i am more than suspicious about the claim.

a record company of emi‘s stature does not give out this sort of information unless told to by the artist (in this case, marie herself or micke). from what i know of marie this isn‘t the way she would release such private information.

i think i remember reading somewhere that marie was leaving emi because she felt as if she was just a commodity to them and not a person. she has started her own record label so maybe that is what has gone on here and it‘s been lost in translation (by zlatyvoci‘s nickname, i‘m guessing russian or polish origin).

record companies don‘t like it when the artist breaks with them and can sometimes turn nasty - i‘m not saying that that is what has happened here but i think we should be a bit wary of someone who claims that the news has come from the record company.

if marie wants us to know how she is, she will make it known through more reliable means - in the meantime let‘s respect her privacy shall we!
