i‘ve been reading through some of the old discussions about marie mainly and find it ‘disturbing‘ at some of the things that have been said about her appearance, movement and voice since her illness. i have nothing but respect for marie and her willingness to talk about what must have been a very difficult time.

my girlfriend and i met at one of her roxette concerts (i was working and my girlfriend was in the crowd) so roxette will always be special to me for a number of reasons. marie is one of the most down to earth people you will meet within the music industry and treated us as part of the team and checked that we were okay at the end.

recently my girlfriend was struck down with a brain tumour and had a really hard time with the treatment (it has finished now thank god) and we found encouragement through some of marie‘s solo songs - especially ‘tro‘. i wrote to thank marie for the help her songs had been and didn‘t expect to get any sort of reply. we got a beautiful letter back which has not only given us both (my girlfriend and I) encouragement for the battle still going on but has also heightened my respect for this fabulous woman.
