A Roxette wedding song
RobS said on February 5, 2007 07:59:
I was at a wedding a few weeks ago, and on the way back i was thinking if i decided to have a Roxette song at my wedding (whenever that may be!!) what would it be.
After trying to think of all the songs that might fit the occasion, the only one that i would really consider would be Reveal.
I think it has a nice, very positive lyric, sounds nice and would fit well.
What are your thoughts, what would you have?

I don’t know about wedding songs but CBB would make a nice Divorce song ha ha

The problem is, Roxette has so many sad love songs...not good for weddings. I think Reveal is a good choice! (don’t like Love is all)

What about Milk and Toast and Honey or A Thing About You or for an upbeat song what about Crush On You. Almost Unreal would fit as well
Claire said on February 5, 2007 16:45:
i always say shine a light would be a good funeral song lol
im not having a rox song as my wedding song although im sure one or two songs will work their way into the tracklist.
first dance- time after time by cindi lauper until the first chorus then mix into i wanna dance with somebody by whitney! classic, get everyone dancing!

i d love to play ’anyone’ on my funeral but weddings are just so boring

Actually i was on a wedding of Non Roxette fans and the bride choose ITMHBL for the first dance ..which is very important..
The explanation was that the song is not about end ,but about admitting love (make a declaration of love) and desire to continue this relationship.and also this song remains her for PW and for the fact she get marry for prince :-))
If you think for away PW has quite good end -)
roxtexanet said on February 6, 2007 02:59:
“Salvation,” of course!
Actually, I had “Almost Unreal” at my wedding. But I agree - positive Rox ballads are few and far between!
And I’m sorry, but I can’t think of a WORSE song to have at a wedding than “IMHBL”!!!

roxtexanet said “positive Rox ballads are few and far between!”
That’s what i was thinking when i first thought about it.
Almost Unreal would work well too.
Also about IMHBL, no matter what i still see that as a break up song.
qqqq said on February 6, 2007 13:04:
hello! you are reason, shine your light reminds more a funeral than a wedding.
OK crush on you would rock, and would make the church (for example) quake.
Cyndi lauper would be a good choice too, except “she bop” (you know why?), ja ja.
But a song that could make people quiver with emotion is YOU MAKE MY HEART GO POP!!!! ISNT IT?
BEST REGARDS
phoenixsamudra said on February 6, 2007 15:49:
what about ’vulnerable’ or ’silver blue’. both great songs but i don t actually know what silver blue is about.

“Neverending love” - as every marriage should be based upon it!
And if you marry in June than obviously “June afternoon” would be a good choice :-)

I’d say Church Of Your Heart is the perfect song for a wedding. I can’t think of a better Rox song for such an event:
“Yes it’s true, right from the start
I believed in the church of your heart
Yes it’s you, that make me part of
And I believe in the church of your heart”

I had Almost Unreal over the short version I made of my wedding dvd...
Caleb said on February 7, 2007 19:40:
No se si es amor
this spanish song is the best choice, ok see the lyric...
very diferent to the IMHBL lyric
No se si es amor mentions love forever!
Debora said on February 7, 2007 21:23:
No sé si es amor (in Spanish) it’s about a girl who feels that she’s alone no matter if she is with someone.
sille-rox said on February 7, 2007 21:37:
Neverending Love
Listen to your heart
My world, my love, my life (perfect title)
Beautiful things
It will take a long long time
Anyone (good to dance)
Wish I could fly
Things will never be the same
Love is all
Perfect Day
The Big Love
Room_service said on February 7, 2007 23:36:
I don’t think Things will never be the same is appropiate for a wedding. I’d say it is more suitable for a divorce!
Angl_Tht_Rox84 said on February 10, 2007 02:48:
Actually, I would think that the perfect song for a wedding would be Give You Up(I Could Never).
The lyrics say it all in that song.
James_Earp said on February 11, 2007 19:55:
Roxette songs:
Run to you, just so beautiful
Church of your heart
A thing about you, but it is maybe better when you have just met :)
Reveal
Gessle solo:
Tycker om när du tar på mig
Something happened today, this song is so perfect
I wanna be with you
Gyllene tider:
Ta mig nu är jag din, :D
När vi två blir en

“Don’t turn around and walk away again...” :DDD

“Crazy About You” (such a beautiful song)
“No Sé Si Es Amor” (see www.angelfire.com/amigaw/roxetteremakes for translation into English)
“A Thing About You”
“Shine Your Light”
“Sleeping In My Car” (okay, it would make for a good dance song, right?)
“I Want You To Know” (Per’s solo career)
“Hey Mister DJ Won’t You Play another love song?”
“Church of Your Heart”
“I was so lucky”
“Stars” (another good dance song)
“Neverending Love”
“Anyone / I Love How You Love Me (Demo)”
“Quiero ser como tú” (see www.angelfire.com/amigaw/roxetteremakes for translation into English)
“Run To You”
And I think that is all that I can think of.

Crazy About You, now there’s a song I haven’t heard in ages. I just loive it, I’ll have to dig up my copy of it..... Such a cool song
Debora said on February 15, 2007 21:20:
I think No sé si es amor is not the best choice for a wedding...
Roxrikkie said on February 15, 2007 21:34:
I got married in 2003. I asked our live band to study a Roxette song for my girl. I had to be ’the look’. I was great.
DRHMichigan said on April 5, 2007 00:01:
The song I would pick is from “Pearls of Passion” - “From One Heart to Another”.
AURYTE said on April 5, 2007 01:17:
I think, Run To You fits perfectly as a wedding song :)

I’ve only read one other person put this song on their list but I got married in 1997 and our first dance was to Perfect Day. We also were introduced at the reception with Joyride in the background

Tia and I had “Run To You” as our wedding song. I think it suited our wedding ceremony perfectly because Roxette is so important to both of us. We met each other on the Roxette Mailing List back in 1996.
Angl_Tht_Rox84 said on April 14, 2007 22:52:
I would probably choose Silverblue, or as weird as it may sound, Salvation, because I love the lyrics of this particular song. Thats just me though.
Bananylopalabomba said on April 15, 2007 01:04:
At my wedding, it was 3 years ago, me & my wife chose IMHBL as a first song. Almost all of my guests wasn‘t surprise, cos they all know my passion to Roxette :) I thought about Listen to your heart, or maybe Salvation, but IMHBL is really great perfect classic beautiful ballad for this case, so we decided to choose IMHBL. It was great to dance a first time with a wife at this greatest song ! That moment was amazing !
qqqq said on February 5, 2007 09:38:
hulo!
I think youre the only one who can choose a song for your wedding, but I have one song to my wedding thats “shine your light”.
