Hej kids!

How are ya??? Things are busy busy busy at work.... BUT, something I’ve always wanted to get my hands on (and that Im making time for) is the roxette.co.za URL.

And now I have - gone is the old (and for the time being - til I get everything I require) a fresh, happy, ROXETTE looking temp/holding page is up (have a look if you havent done so!).

Now, what I need is everything Rox/South Africa related you kids mite have - interviews, pics, newspaper clippings, soundbytes, TV ads, print ads, posters, memorabilia, tshirts, etc. Cos afterall this is the SA fansite.

I would love for you guys to be part of it - and for any other SA fans that you might know - the BIG aim being that we need to do some promo ourselves seeing that EMI wont do anything in SA. And ofcourse to inform the uninformed. Load this site with everything Rox/SA related.

Hanrich (Purplemedusa) has some huge problems. They stole some cables in the street he lives in in Cape Town and his comper litterally blew up. As dit some 16 other houses in the street. He’s waiting for insurance to pay out so he can buy a new PC. He’s fine, otherwise.

Ons Suid-Afrikaners moet Hanro help om hierdie SA site bef*k te maak!!! Ek het ook ’n klomp scans, songs en stuff waarmee ek kan help.

im in SA for 3 months and already ive heard roxette played at least 5 times - so far ive heard listen to your heart, almost unreal, the look, joyride and a thing about you! they even talk about the new GH album and new single on the radio here - not like the uk hey? its so exciting to be here !!! i love this country!!!!!!

Regarding the clubs, send me an email ([email protected]) and I’ll give you some suggestions.
I’m not gay myself, but I do have some friends who frequently visit the gay clubs in Jo’burg.

In PE we have Bay FM, One wish was played at no 14 in the Top 20
We also have a radio station called Algoa FM and you can be guaranteed to hear
a roxette song played by them almost every day, I have heard them play Roxette 3 times on one day!

They also have a thing called the Huming Home tune where the listeners gets to vote between 3 songs and the one with the most votes win around 17:00 every day. Everytime I heard a roxette as one of the 3 they beat the others. Beating people like Green Day, Jessica Simpson, Madonna, The Rasmus...

Unfortunately Algoa WONT be playing OneWish - reason being that the station manager thinks it’s too “rocky” for their listeners. What a load of bull! Apparently the demographics show that 60% of their listeners are black, therefore they are cutting out “rock” songs from all airplay.

One of my very good friends is a DJ and program manager (he decides on the songs that get airplay, etc) and he told me this when I asked him about it. Im furious.

This has to be Rox’s poppiest song since... hell... I cant even think now. Im angry from the beginning again. And they call it a “rock song”??? Good god.

I hate to pee on afrikaans batteries now.. but the revised tdr rulez clearly state we are not allowed to use any foreign language unless accompanied by english translations.. so i will kindly be translating everything said in afr thusfar..

the radio station they have been talking about and playing roxette on is 94.7fm highveld its also online apparently on the web - today they played fading like a flower!!
a woman rang up last week and asked what had happened to rox - the dj said well ive done my research and they have a brand new album out and a new single called one wish and then he said he would play it latyer on his show....
hope this helps !!!
and your pop/ballad hits has a different cover out here....nearly bought it just for the cover but cant afford it as my money has to last me a year of travelling....

@Natasha: Yes, Highveld Stereo is available online at www.highveld.co.za. Too bad I missed when they played One Wish. Hopefully the DJ who did the research will play it more often... I suppose we can all make a combined effort and vote for it on their “Hot 30” chart: http://www.highveld.co.za/music/hot30/hot30.asp

@Room_Service: As far as I know only the Ballad Hits has the different cover, like you described.

ok im sorry if i confused the issue on the front cover - i have a picture of it at home so ill look and make sure that it is the ballad hits only and then ill come back next wednesday and let you know...

last night on SABC3 they played the advert for the GH at 8.30. its a truck driving along the road and then the sides of the truck turn into tv screens where you see clips from the videos - and then right at the end they play 3 secs of One Wish - did anyone else see it..????

im going to start a new thread called @my travels around south africa@ - as i have seen so much here and i want to share it with everybody!!!!
