On the bootleg CD sleeve said 1998, didn’t it?

I have a theory: perhaps these songs could have been in an “unreal” Roxette album with others from “The world according to Gessle”.
What do you think, roxers?
“The world according to Gessle & Fredriksson?”

Please, don’t tell me this is another way to express regretfully that Gessle’s 97 solo album should have been a Rox album! Please... when will we ever get over it? It wasn’t .. Period!

Apperently these recording were done during sessions for the HAND album and probably prior to that after Marie’s solo “I En Tid Som Var” album ... so it’s around that time.

According to the notes in the box, New World was recorded in 1996 and All I Ever Wanted in April 1997 (strings etc added in June 2004).

In the “Have a nice day” site all songs were commented. Marie cleary said thet she wrote 7-8 songs for the album, but only 2 (WFR and BT) were used.
A pair of year later (I think) all the 8 the demos were on a bootleg:
Bad Moon
New World
All I Ever Wanted
Always the last to know
Remember
Do You Wanna Go With Me
Beautiful Things
Waiting for the rain
“Always the last to know” was translated and used for Marie’s Äntligen in 2000.
“Bad Moon” finishe in “The Change”.
“New Word” and “All I Ever Wanted” are in the box.
“Remember” and “Do you wanna go with me” are still officially unreleased.

No, this is not what I wanted to say. “I want you to know” that some things “make me feel stupid” but then I “lay dow my arms” and think that “I’ll be alright”. Do you “take it”? Well, it was just a joke.
Seriously, I like “The world according to Gessle”: with The Lonely Boys and TWATG begins the way to the pure Gessle of Mazarin and SOAP, my favourite Gessle.
I read some interviews and I think that Marie was very fed up with the Roxette project in 1996-1997.
I also read that Marie recorded this songs-demos with his husband Mikael Boylos, perhaps between 1997 and 1998.
But I don’t know if Marie wanted this songs in order to:
- Record a solo English album (or an album with Sugarcane, her husband’s band)
- Record an album with Per in 1997-1998 (“The world according to Gessle & Fredriksson”)
- Record the next Rox-album, Have a nice day, in 1999.
The two Marie’s demos in the Rox-Box remembered me this question.
Thank you for the answer.
“Wish you -all- the best”

@Lantartida, I get what you’re saying, and I’ve done something of the sort.
I included Remember and Always The Last To Know in a fake Roxette album, similar to what you refer, that I made in 2003. I compiled the “album” and sortof developed a fictional story about how it came to be, to help deal with feelings about Marie’s illness and everything at the time. The majority of the tracks had been released in the Pop and Ballad Hits.
Here’s the tracklisting I used:
OpNox
It Hurts
Breathe
Little Miss Sorrow
Stupid (Roxette version)
Making Love To You
Everyday
I Do Believe
The Weight Of The World
A Thing About You
Remember
Bla Bla Bla Bla Bla
Always The Last To Know
It came out pretty good and now that I’ve got Ipod, I faked the same album on there, even with a cover art (using one of the photos from the Ballad Hits sessions).
I’m thinking of doing something similar with songs from SOAP and The Change, the new Rox tracks and a couple of those demos, especially interested with the more full All I Ever Wanted with the extra strings and vocals. But very little of this one would be actual Roxette, so I’m not sure. and Hey, hey, hey, maybe one day we’ll have a REAL new Roxette album anyway!

I don’t have ’Do you wanna go with me?’. Is there someone who has it who can send it to me?

When were these Marie’s songs composed or first time recorded?
Bad Moon
New World
All I Ever Wanted
Always the last to know
