the root of the problem is that roxette does not have a record company that truly supports them (or make an effort to promote them). i am sure the record companies of the top acts these days have deals with mtv to play their songs and specials.

Well. True, MTV never plays Roxette (I’m talking about Europe now).
But. MTV Networks Europe has another channel, called VH1 Europe which plays a LOT of Roxette. Probably the owners of MTVNE thought that Roxette is making music not for the target audience of MTV but of VH1. (And hey, it’s not a bad thing. I mean, VH1 plays only quality music, no bullsh!t, like Britney or NSync or what.) And VH1 Europe really plays a lot of Roxette.

VH1 is just as bad as MTV. Although they do show Roxette videos the channel is altogether very dull. Reruns, the same music videos and reruns again.
