Can anyone tell me a way to transfer a video recorded on VHS to my PC? Is it possible?

You can use the “Pinnacle Studio Movie Box USB”.

I bought it, but haven’t used it yet.

There’s a few ways of doing it depending on how comfortable/experienced you are using PC’s.
The easiest would be using something like a DVD/VHS combo and dubbing the tape to DVD then rip the DVD to your PC.
Otherwise a USB style video recording device as mentioned which generally comes with all the software required and should be relatively easy to use.
Or, you can use a TV tuner as most have video inputs, or if your video card has Video Inputs you can use that to record it direct to your PC and convert to whatever format from there.
I hope i didn’t make things more complicated.

Yep RobS’s perfectly right!
If you decide to go for the VHS-PC aquisition then use a software that shows you if you lose any frames when capturing, this way you can be sure your pc is fast enough for the job! Also if the source is VHS and you only want to play the files on your PC you can capture in 240 × 576 (PAL/SECAM) resolution @25fps (’cos VHS is not higher than that). I assume you have PAL system in Bulgaria... if you don’t know what all this is just set it like that and press rec all the same!

Actually it’s SECAM in Bulgaria :D
I’d also put it into DVD first and then rip the DVD. I’ve actually done that and it worked nicely.

Yes I do it that way too with my dvd recorder, you don’t have to know all the technical stuff and it’s easy... but then you get high resolution videos. Well at least it was high resolution some time ago...
I never really understood what’s the difference between SECAM and PAL... was it something to do with the colours?
