Although I am not expecting much, I do remember reading in someone elses post that the new greatest hits album had been mentioned by a radio station. I have emailed one of the DJs (Bogart) on Mix FM (Sydney easy listening station that seems to play at least one Roxette song every day) with a few important facts (ie new greatest hits album, success of One Wish in Europe and Marie’s return with Roxette to the stage the other week) and I actually got a reply fom her saying she will use these facts when she next plays Roxette. I do reckon that this type of promotion is all that can be expected unless EMI includes Roxette in its promo for Christmas greatest hits releases.

I was at work the other day and Boggart played IMHBL and after she said they were one of the biggest duo’s to come out of Sweden and that IMHBL was on the Pretty Woman soundtrack etc... was nice of her to talk about them for a bit :) It’s so funny when that happens the whole world stops for that minute lol

Hi guys,
Huge fan of MIX 106.5 here and I’m not sure if you’re aware or not but Swedish legends Roxette are celebrating their 20 years this October and
have released an updated compilation CD “Roxette Hits; A Collection of their 20 Greatest Songs!” with a brand new track called “One Wish”. As expected, this catchy summer tune is doing amazingly well for them in Europe and after listening to it for the first time I instantly thought the track would be ideal for MIX.
I just wanted to find out if you guys have heard the new song yet or if there are any plans to play any new Roxette material on MIX? I often hear the usual Roxette hits on MIX but it would be nice to let people know that Per and Marie have been recording new material for the past 10 years (and the recent stuff is arguably even better than It Must Have Been Love, Joyride and The Look).
Marie Fredriksson, the female half, has now recovered from a brain tumour which put Roxette on halt for 4 years since their last studio album “Room Service” which explains their recent absence but the new “Best of” has kicked off the Roxette anniversary with a bang!
Anyway, that was just a quick heads up for you; it would be nice to hear their new songs on the radio for a change and I think One Wish is typical Roxette; an annoyingly catchy chorus that you can’t get out of your head and the song lasts for about 3 minutes. Perfect pop.

Is Dave Wright the guy who does the afternoon shift? I hate him! Actually most DJs are absolute jokes these days (were they always this bad?). Bogart is nice though and has an amazing voice and it is very courteous of her to reply to emails.
Bogart checking the music department for One Wish won’t achieve much, unless they have been passed a copy of the GH by EMI.

Is it sad that we listen to Mix? My excuse is that I only listen to it at work, but I do find myself switching over on the weekends some times.

ive have ordered one wish from chaos and im hoping to get it played here in adelaide by approaching a few radio stations that play early 80’s -90’s music.
