One Wish ROCKS but sure no success!

Sad but true!
One Wish is a really great song but I´m sure it will be no success!
The music industry these days wants something NEW: Like RIHANNA or CHRISTINA AGUILERA!
It will be like in 2001. A big radio hit and a big chart flop!
I can see it before it´s release yet!

Charts are fickle - you never know what will be big.
It depends on what grabs people. The likes of Xtina etc only appeals to a certain market. Then you have the other side of the “pop” spectrum that likes Mr Blunt, Keane, Coldplay... and somewhere in between guys like Lachey, etc. Rox falls somewhere in between as well. And they all sell pretty well. Yea?
Everyone has their place on the pop charts. Just hope Rox will find theirs in the upper regions.

To be sucessfull in the charts means a lot for an artist! You see - that people LIKE what you´re doing. But Roxette wasn´t successfull the last years!
I think it has also to do with that horrible promotion Roxette get!

’One wish’ IS good, but still I think they try too hard to sound young and fresh. ’Stars’ is terrible in that sense, and OW has some of the same. But I must admit I do like the song. It sticks to my mind, and I keep on singing it to myself all day long :)

Leaving aside for the moment the question of whether they should be there at all (given that this song hasn’t even been released to radio yet), it sure seems there were several discussion topics already started about One Wish that you might have used, rather than start a new one. Did you somehow not see those?!?
Please refer to what is currently Rule #4: http://www2.dailyroxette.com/smalltalk/thread.php/16524

I think I agree. I remember Per believing Anyone was going to be a big hit. It flopped. And so did Milk and toast and honey. Centre of the heart was a radio hit, though.
But we just have to realize that Per and Marie have been around for a long, long time. This happens to all aging stars. Just look at Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Sting, Eric Clapton ... ages ago since they were on top of the charts, especially the singles charts.
Let’s TRY to forget about charts, and focus on the music. The time Roxette was on top of the charts is over. We have to live with that. :)
