HD DVD/Blue-Ray

So far, not many films are produced on HD DVD or Blue-Ray disks. If Rox would release video material using such standards, they would not make any money from these discs, however, this would be very good publicity/promotion step, because:

1. “Hi-tech” thing
2. “Scarcity power” - there are not so many competitors in this area

What do you think ? Am I insane ? :)

Lets have all the videos re-released in HD/Blu-Ray in 12 months time!!

Really would be good if a remastering process could be used to tidy up all as the releases thus far have had glitches (many other artsists DVD’s do also).

Enough for others to rant about at the moment so lets no go down this route now.

Blue-Ray! I would have to sell my house to buy it :D

I’d just settle for all the old videos put onto DVD format officially!

Believe me, it will not help a lot to upscale 10 years old footage to HDI. It’s still the same crappy quality but costs more. Plus you can’t copy the discs anymore. ;-)

There’s been other (old) concerts released on HD-DVD which looks really nice (according to reviews) so it _could_ be great, but it depends on the masters.

But... I doubt they’ll even release them on DVD so I very much doubt we’ll get to see them on HD-DVD’s or BD’s anytime soon.

It’s not about quality, but about publicity “hey, we released ... on HD/BlueRay”

I don’t think it would work as a publicity stunt. I think with EMI their aim would be to make the most money. So anything released would be for the mass market, therefore DVD.

About the “It’s not about quality, but about publicity” comment, if they don’t release something that is a high quality product then the only publicity they will get is bad publicity. As has been said, there’s not much point releasing anything on HD-DVD if most of their source material is pretty crap.

Still waiting patiently for the old concert videos on DVD though.

I believe DVD is more than enough for old videos. About HD-DVD/Blue Ray.... well if it’s going to be..... HD-DVD-R +R +RW -RW -RAM, BD-R +R +RW -RW -RAM plus all them with lightscribe I’m going to scream!!!!!! I wish they made their mind up!!!!

yet anothner crap war of comepting formats to get you to go and rebuy your dvd collection screw that

@coy: exactly!
