GH - Spanish song

Per mentioned that in Spanish release of teh Greatest hits album will be one song removed and one Spanish song added... Which song it would be? I have read tracklist of the GH and RoxBox, but nevere saw traxlist of Spanish version of GH
Would it be Un dia sin ti (another single, sad...)instead of Spending my time? Cos I cant believe, if there are 18 singles-songs, that it would be unreleased Spanish You Dont Understand Me...

Maybe it is a “ballad megamix” with the best lines:

“Soy un tren, un misil, voy a cien voy a mil” / I’m a train, I’m a misil, I go at 100, I go at 1000
“Voy vistiéndome así como así” / I’m getting dressed so-so
“Mi corazón me ha superdemostrado” / My heart has superdemonstrated to me
“Con él soy feliz pero vivo sin él” / With it I’m happy but I’m living without it
“Dos prometidos desconocidos” / Two engaged people who don’t know each other
“Es amor o no es amor, no lo sé” / Is it love or isn’t it love, I don’t know
“Pero no se da, de pronto ya no está” / But ¿?¿?... :| , suddenly she’s gone
“Pruebo tu amor y me siento fatal, pero yo te quiero bien o mal” / I try your love and I feel sick, but I love you well or bad
“Corazón como te pones” / I’d better not translate :D
“Yo sentí las alas del amor” / I felt the wings of love
“Así es la ley, esa es la verdad” / So it’s the law, that is the truth

And of course the line that better defines Mr. Escolar adaptation work: :P

“Yo no quiero pensar, prefiero vivir [...] Pide perdón, vete de aquí” / I don’t want to think, I prefer to live [...] Beg pardon, get out of here
:P

Does anyone like the idea?? :D

Santi, it sounds like a party!!

“Mi corazón me ha superdemostrado” and “Voy a cien, voy a mil, soy un tren, un misil” are definitely the worse translated lyrics in the history of music! :p

I wonder what YDUM sounds in spanish. It has a lot of material for Mr. Escolar to ruin.

Santi wrote: “’Corazón como te pones’ / I’d better not translate :D”

I don’t speak any spanish. Now I’m curious. Could somebody please translate that?

I don’t even know how to translate that :p

I think they should also include the infamously lame and slightly degrading:

“Quiero ser como tú, igual que tú, ni mejor ni peor, igualita que tú” / “I wanna be like you, just like you, neither better nor worse, exactly like you”

Every time I listen Marie singing “soy un misil” I imagine her flying to the moon like a rocket!!arghhhh!! Escolar is soooo bad!!:))

@Mr Floppy. it doesn’t make sense, something like” heart, how is it feeling”, but translation doesn’t work because in spanish sounds horrible too.

@ crazy

Okay, thanks. Seems like it’s better not to understand what they sing in the spanish versions of the songs. I knew that the translations were bad, but not THAT bad :D

“Un Dia Sin Ti” instead of “Spending My Time”. For sure.

the whole Baladas Cd was a bigjoke...

who’s buying the Spanish GH anyway?

i don’t think I’ll get the deluxe version...not as it feels right now at least.

@Santi - thanks for that (even though it was slightly painful to read (-:), thank God Per didn’t write those lyrics (we know he’s got some doozies... “Jefferson got hit by a westbound truck, I guess that didn’t make him look like a million bucks” is RIGHT up there with those ones!!

beats ’and where there used to be some shops is where the snipers sometimes hide’ hands down that one

*goes and finds Human League GH*

I’m sure the song is similar to the one in Italian, I love that song :D

@ Santi

It was great!

I don’t want any song in Spanish, please!

Roxette recorded an album in my language and that’s something to be thankful for, they had thought about us. But the lyrics! I’m completely sure they had no idea what they were singing.

it shoudl be wicf in spanish

It will be “Un Dia Sin Ti”
Duh!!!

gyllene_tjej, I don’t take the Spanish album as a joke. They did their best, they didn’t translate the songs by themselves. So, it’s not their fault if the new lyrics are not 100% accurate.

I can’t deny some Spanish versions are not as good as the original English versions (CBB, Fading, Queen of Rain and I Don’t Want To Get Hurt are the worst attemps). But some others are quite “listenable”, like Un dia sin ti or Timida. The Spanish versions of HAND tend to be better, the lyrics improved a lot if compared with the ones from 1996.

Marie’s pronunciation in Spanish is not that bad, sometimes is close to be perfect. That’s something I can’t say about Bon Jovi’s songs in Spanish or Shakira singing in English, for example (I can’t understand what she is singing!).

I don’t play them very often, but Baladas en español and the Spanish versions of HAND were a gift for us, the fans from the Spanish-speaking countries. I take it as a compliment ;o)

I can’t listen to them singing in Spanish, I just cringe, (and that’s with basic spanish at school) god know what Spanish born speakers think of it!
