Danger in a "non-exclusive-too-commercial" box?

If this very commercially oriented box does not sell well, or even if the 3rd and 4th GH in a row (keeping in mind “the Peas” albums) don’t sell well (the 2nd Pea didn’t sell, right?)... Won’t that jeopardize Roxette’s future?

I mean... knowing that nowadays their market is nearly exclusively Europe (they’re long forgotten in the USA, Argentina, Australia, Japan, Mexico and any other big market overseas), and that 3 of the 5 biggest markets in Europe tend to ignore them already (UK, France and Italy)... who’s going to invest in them if this so commercially oriented box doesn’t sell? The few EMI divisions that still have them in “high-esteem” will think twice before releasing any future Roxette album, if they invest any money at all in that...

And knowing also it will cost a whole lot (that wil surely keep out of the target market “new fans and fans that didn’t know they were fans”... something Per doesn’t really seem to understand. It’s not interesting enough for long time fans because we nearly have everything (but the MTV concert). What the hell is the market?

Isn’t this the worst business strategy ever? :|

(Hope I’m wrong...)

I dont know.... but I have moaned long enough now... :S

Im just happy that they are back.... Even thoug the box sucks... :)

Well Santi, I have to agree with you on this one - I don’t think it’s a great business strategy either. I really do not know who this box is intended for - other than some of the hardcore fans who will purchase anything and everything that Roxette ever releases.

LOL - don’t be bothered by my pointing this out, but I think it’s one of the first times you and I agree on something ;)

This may sound funny; but, despite the unimpressive Rox Box tracklisting, and (in my opinion) the offensive response from Mr. Gessle, I still want them to succeed. I’m genuinely looking forward to “One Wish”, and I hope it’s a worldwide success.

I´m sorry, but that´s not even a problem... Rox is dead for a very long time, they´re not successfull anymore. So selling this box and GH or not won´t change anything... TDR will still be their biggest market place !! :)

The charts don’t counts on boxset–boxset aren’t made to be one-hit-wonder for one week ..
I guees you never be in the music store..
And never see boxset of any artist staying there for ages..

But maybe you have some bad experience..
Santi as fan of Corrs do you know (for example) how many Corrs Unplugged [DVD] (2004) - were sold and if this leads to end of Corrs??

I don’t think anyone counts such things ..
So lets be more positive!!
It’s not a marketing forum ,it’s a forum of Roxette fans

I think that Roxette have been committing suicide commercialy speaking for a long time, and this is just the final act. Sometimes I don’t know what is the big-business-man-Gessle thinking about...

Gessle releases for the money... and who can blame him! :)

Do you really think so, ally?

Yeah of course, he focusing on his big pension!

If it fails, it would be enough of a confidence knocker for them to part ways...whether they would or not remains to be seen...

I doubt they would though...
