UK Promotion!
ally77 said on September 2, 2006 17:17:
So there seems to be a slight chance of “One Wish” being released here in the UK, and whilst it might excite some of the fan base I don’t think we shall see much promotion for it!
However they are it would seen making it to the Bravo 50th in Germany so maybe there is a slight chance we shall see something in the UK and it would be great it we could get there to show our support! (Just like those old days….)
Keep your eyes and ears open for possible appearances on daytime TV shows, chat shows etc…. you never know!
ncurran said on September 2, 2006 19:06:
I really dont see it being released at all actuallym certainly not as a physical single. Even if it is on the release schedules, i think it would only ever really be released as a digital (download only) single, and it wont make a dent in the charts, thats for sure.
and to be honest i dont think daytime shows and chatshows would want Roxette as guests. Rememeber their last promo trip to the UK. With the exception of the Radio 2 gig in blackpool, all they made it on were crappy cable shows with ridiculously low viewing figures like Liquid news

Well, I did well out of that, as I met them then lol. But yeah, i’ve said it before I don’t think there is a place for Roxette in the UK charts anymore :( Oh, don’t me wrong, I would love to see them back, but i’m not holding out hope.
ally77 said on September 2, 2006 21:12:
Hey, don’t spoil my dreams.... lol ;)
As for Blackpool, I went, I spent ages there until they would open the gates to the front, but I got pissed off so came back home and listened on the radio! lol (sorry Per I was there... but those die hard teeny pop band fans where driving me mad...)

Hi there this is first time i have used the forums, I did see a release date for the new single in the UK for 25th September. Its on the BBC website!!!!! check it out. Dont think itm will make a difference to the charts though. Too many X factor RUBBISH and its all about shaking your arse for the camera. crap!
ncurran said on September 2, 2006 23:10:
I would really only believe it if it is published in Music Week (which i cant buy in my hometown), or it was on one of the record shops lists (HMV/Virgin, etc). These lists of release dates float about the internet and are not always accurate, even if the source is the BBC, it is not clear where they have got their information from.

I dont know what would be best chance of promotion, Im think ’sharon osboure show’. ’richard and judy.’ etc
ncurran said on September 3, 2006 09:38:
and roxette would probably never be invited on those shows, unless they played up on maries illness as a selling point, which i am sure is not what they would want to do
Denstandigaresan said on September 3, 2006 10:29:
davidjjanderson1981... oh yes, but i’m sure I could manage if Per wanted to shake his bum for the camera. ;)
*giggles*

@ ally - I was at blackpool too - and Roxette were dreadful. Marie was really out of tune and, well, not very good at all. It kinda seemed like a really badly managed decision to play there.
ncurran said on September 6, 2006 18:30:
“roxette were on liquid news????really????”
Yeah it was when MATAH was released. A pretty crap interview and a 10-15 second clip of the video. It was when that chubby presenter was still alive
Claire said on September 7, 2006 08:12:
Oh yea i remember that, Blackpool was mildly irratating partly because i had some marti pellow obsessive next to me wanting to use my mobile to call her mam so she could cry down the phone :( ive met some odd rox fans but she took the biscuit lol!
any promo to be done in uk i will be there!
Jakubek said on September 7, 2006 09:58:
I think the best what we can do to help Per & Marie is to send a lot of e-mails to radiostation enquiring about Roxette’s return. They have to know that some people in UK still care about it!!
I hope that if One wish” and whole album become a succes Marie and Per will see the sense to record something brand new...
C’mon!!!
ally77 said on September 7, 2006 11:39:
That was it Marti Pellow fans where driving me nuts... I thought Roxette fans where bad...
Didn’t Emma Bunton perform as well!
Claire said on September 7, 2006 12:21:
i can only remember marti, steps (of course!) and lisa stansfield.

Yeah, I remember Liquid News. Was also another interview directly after, or before - both satellite shows, but can’t remember what. Will have a look through my tapes...
ally77 said on September 8, 2006 07:35:
I actually think it would be rather nice to walk into a shop and buy the box!
ally77 said on September 18, 2006 07:52:
Still nothing on HMV or the Virgin sites showing that they are carrying the box - deja vu?
I have emailed HMV again and Virgin to see if they respond!
I think most people have ordered it anyway at CDON especially with that great discount at the moment!
ally77 said on September 18, 2006 19:21:
A slight chance of Per coming hear to do promotion..... jeez.... I wonder what he could do promotion on!

I e-mailed to the UK radiostatins enquirng Roxette during last week and I’ve already received some answers. Here are few of them:
RADIO PEMBROKESHIRE: I haven’t heard they have anything new out, they did make a come
back in 1999 with Wish I Could Fly (which we play from time to time)if they do have something new we will certainly consider playing it.
RADIO THE ARROW: Yes, Roxette are issuing One Wish as a single and will feature on a new album
called Roxette Hits. I have passed your email to our music director who chooses all the tracks played on The Arrow.
RADIO HEART 106,2: Yes they are releasing a new single and Greatest Hits soon. I haven’t yet heard the single so when the record label send it I’ll be able to have a clearer idea whether we’ll play it at Heart.
RADIO CAPITAL: I haven’t heard this news, but i’ll be good to hear from Roxette again. As with
all music... if it’s any good we’ll play it! I’d quite like to hear The Look
again though!
RADIO ROCK FM: Not sure as yet but if they do then hopefully it will be playlisted.
RADIO PLYMOUTH SOUND: Yes we do hear that a new single from Roxette is on the way. We have no
firm release date as yet & I’ve not had a copy sent to me from the record company so I can’t say for certain whether we’ll be playing it.
RADIO TREND FM: Hiya.. thanks for your email.. Yes I believe they are releasing that in October and then their Greatest Hits! I’m sure it will be put to our music researchers to add to the playlist if people like it!
RADIO MAGIC: I haven’t heard anything about this but will be sure to keep you posted
if I do!
RADIO HERTS MERCURY: yes, it’s true - they’re back with a new album called Roxette Hits.
With regards to the playlist that’s up to the boss, if you email Tank Montana he’ll be able to let you know!
As we can se - no detailes, but we among this answers we can notice some optimistic signs. At first everyone still remembers and knows ROXETTE (no one aksed who they are!!!), most of them is aware of their coming back and they have a will to play their new single :)))
I hope their bosses will share this opinion too :))
I think we should keep mailing to the radio and Tv stations aksing about Roxette to show them that in UK there’s a lot of people who still likes and cares about them!!
ncurran said on September 19, 2006 21:31:
well is not about time EMI UK got there ar** into gear and actually put it on the release schedules and sent the promo CDs out. No guarantee that the radio would play it, but they certainly cant play it if they dont even have the song!
ally77 said on September 19, 2006 21:40:
I agree Neil... looks like it’s gonna be another dissappointed for the UK fans...
