Per comments on fan’s disappointment with RoxBox

Written by Per_G_ on September 2, 2006 to .

STOCKHOLM - Here is a message from Per regarding the RoxBox controversy.

Dear Daily Roxers, hope all is well in the real world!

I’ve noticed, reading on my own and thru various mails, that some of you are unhappy, furious, hurt, suicidal and even displaying a very unpleasant attitude regarding the upcoming Roxette releases.
Roxette has been around for 20 years, this particular year we have decided to release 1 compilation album with our biggest hits + 1 box set which should give a more complete picture of the band and our ambitions. All for a wide audience of old + new fans and people who perhaps didn’t even know they were fans…

We have recorded 2 new tracks which we feel are up to the same standard as our best material. As well as these new ones the box will include 14 tracks that most folks living on this planet aren’t that familiar with. And they’re pretty good too. Yea, that’s about it. No, I forgot the extended version of MTV Unplugged recordings which will also be included in this mighty box.

It has never been our intention to have a box-release leaning heavily towards demos, remixes, song sketches or live material. Like I mentioned before the idea with this particular item is to present the big picture of what Roxette is all about. We don’t want that flow of quality productions to be interrupted by 7-minute remixes or lukewarm demos. Quality over exclusivity has always been our choice.

By the way, talking about demos: Most artists (that I know of anyway) don’t release demos at all. Just so you know, the demo is made by the writer or the artist to try out the song, to find out for oneself what it’s all about. It’s not necessarily meant to be heard by the public. It’s work in progress. Some of you seem to think that these, often primitive, recordings or rough sketches are made for your ears. They are not. They are made for ours. You can’t take for granted that the demoversion of every Roxette-song you like has to be released. That won’t happen.

So…I really can’t understand the dissatisfaction among some of you. If you don’t like it, don’t listen to it and certainly don’t buy it! Marie and I have to be the prime judges of our own music, our own lyrics and our own productions. That won’t change. It’s a beautiful day out there. Enjoy it.

Dear Per thanks for replying. I’m sure many fans, even the ones who are a bit disappointed about the rox-box, are sorry that some people here are exagerating and being over the top about this release. I must admit that I did expect the box to be more fan-oriented but the fact that you and Marie are back together is supposed to be the real celabration. So let’s make a deal, we stop the moaning and you promise to keep up the good work with Marie!

PS.... It would be a good compromise to sell the Rox-Box on iTunes so that one can buy the songs he’s interested in. This way everybody will be happy.

Some people are saying that our expectations were way too high but that’s just a stupid comment as Per himself raised our expectations by saying that the Rox box was meant for fans who thought they had it all. Well, in all honesty you can’t describe this upcoming box as something that a true fan would die for except for the 4, maybe 5 songs that we never heard before.

Oh, come on people! Grow up! Maybe it’s not what you expected and yes I’m also getting tired of the same greatest hits over and over again, but my solution is: I won’t buy it.
Of course we can express our feelings about this release, but a lot of comments were insulting, so why isn’t Per allowed to come up with a firm answer? I think he’s right on most points.
The record company, Per and Marie deceide what will be released. A lot of people on this forum seem to think they have the right to deceide. I’m sorry, but we’re the fans, not the band! So buy it or don’t and if you have comments let us (and Roxette if they read it) know, but do it in a normal way!

Well i’ll buy it anyway, My Roxette collection has to stay complete.

It’s nice to see Per’s reacting on the comments here. Even though some people have been very rude. Thanks mr. G.

But Per, when you can’t understand the dissatisfaction. Mostly we are because there was a few times written that the box also would be “for the fans who thought they had everything.”

But, no offence, and thanks for your time.

PS: does “extended” version mean the whole MTV thing, that would be great!

A bonusCD with 10-12 demos or live-trax must be perfect and the best way to say “thanks folks”.

LoneGunman: I didn´t read anything yet after the page 9. I´d like to ask you was The World According To Gessle succesful in Brasil and South America?

SOAP was a album in English but somehow it doesnt fit “outside Scandinavia” if you ask me. It has this Swedish / Scandinavian feel that may sound a bit strange in other parts of the world.

Just like Mazarin but in English language.

please watch your language. I´m a bit upset reading some of the comments.
Don´t make Per angry, I´d love to see other Roxette studio albums in the future!!!

Reading last pages i undertsand that Per was right to the T-bone is his letter..

Some people always will shot in the sky no matter what happends...
In the same time i guess they already make everythning to buy Roxbox first :-)))
Same was with TBH,TPH and Soap ..
And i’m sorry that i helped some people

;-)))

Get a life..
Do what you want but harm noone.....
even with comments

Phew, finally I’ve read it all. What an amount of comments...

Okay, now we have an answer from Per. An answer which is confusing me. Per, it was YOU who told us about the demos you wanted to have in the RoxBox because they meant so much to you. You made several promises and raised our expectations with your comments on the RoxBox. You know, it’s not about the tracklist itself that so many fans are pissed off. It’s because the RoxBox turned out not to be the promised one. If we had been told what the RoxBox was really about perhaps none of us would be as disappointed as we are.

But thanx for your words. I’ll take your advice and won’t buy the box. It’s no big deal. Maybe there will be a really NEW album-release some day. I will buy this one for sure because I still consider me as a fan. Just don’t need to buy things I already have. I’m not that rich.

Last thing: “Suicidal”? I think that’s inappropriate. Life will go on for all of us. No matter what you do, that’s for sure. And if it was supposed to be a joke then it wasn’t funny at all.

Per, I agree!
Don’t listen to the sad people out there. They’ve no life.
It’s your music, your wounderful music, and it’s you who decides. And I think it’s the best way to celebrate your 20year with a best of-box. And as a bonus we got 2 new songs, you are the best!!! Thanks!
I dont think there are any songwriter who’s so generous as you. You always have new songs too, most of the time there are just the old songs in other artists best-of. And on yours singles it’s always 2 songs! Others just have one and a mix on that song, but not you!
I’m an “old” fan of you, I’ve got all of your music, but will bye this new box...ofcourse!!!!
I love you, for who you are! /Tina

Just to put my 2 cents in on this...

I’ve been a Roxette fan for a long, long time. I’m that crazy fan in Los Angeles that drove around for a many years with Rox Fan on my license plate and Roxette stickers all over my car. I’m happy with the Rox Box. I can’t wait to buy it. I think it’s fantastic.

I’m with Per. Stop the whining, guys, really. I want the best possible Greatest Hit collection. I know we all love the demos and the oddball stuff, but if Per’s cleaned out the closets and hasn’t found anything else that’s worth releasing, then fine.

I want a Roxette comeback, I want a world tour and to see them again in the States. And if they toss a bunch of junk onto the Rox Box that only the hard-core fans are going to like, what are critics going to say? I bet a lot of fans haven’t heard demos like Love Spins, which is a really great song and worthy of being included.

I hope Per might do something special for the hardcore nutcase fans later on. Maybe a free download of the worst demo, which we’ll all absolutely love and cheerish.

ROXETTE is BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this makes me really happy and I don´t care about all the discussions.

People are allowed to change their plans and opinions as much as they want!

THANKS PER & MARIE for still making music, THANKS for every word and every song which has ever been released.

I don´t consider me to demand anything from Roxette. It´s THEIR holy decision which I respect a lot =;))

No reason is given to be disappointed - just a reason to CELEBRATE: ROXETTE IS BACK!!!!!!!

Thx
sitis

alright...so the Rox Box tracklist is here to stay. The disappointment about NOT keeping the promise from Per’s side still lingers. (Is it too strong to call it a promise? At least he talked about the unreleased songs in the number of 14 ones and so on) But I’m coming to terms with it...most of us have their own life anyway. The disappointment will not mar the sheer joy about Roxette coming back, absolutely not. And I’m counting the days to hear the new songs too.

and you know what? I don’t think it’s the REAL Per behind the message. Obviously, it’s him who wrote it, but it is probably done to spite us. I mean, listen to some of his interviews - after all he has always been quite reticent about stuff he considered inconvenient to discuss. You know, he either said nothing about it or joked it all off. This time (with the Rox Box issue) it was different. There was enormous pressure put on him, he got pressed against the wall by our comments, suddenly we all CRAVED the answer from him.

Just as much as we felt hurt when the tracklist was revealed he probably felt the same because of the comments he read through (some of them being indeed not very nice). So, I believe he got his share too, hence it took him some days to deal with the situation and come up with the answer.

And what do you do when you’re hurt? More often than not you write some harsh words in self-defence. (You must have heard of the “attack is the best defence” mechanism?). I mean look around you - we’re all just people who actually do the same (most of us anyway)... look at the forum - if someone says something that’s not to your liking you start flaming around. And that’s I guess what Per did too, more or less.

No need to call him arrogant or indifferent just because of that stupid statement we got. Were I 15 I’d maybe feel broken hearted thinking my idol is not so ideal anymore. But now...no, and I’m done with that topic.

I won’t let the box tracklist (something quite meaningless in the long run - taking into consideration all the lovely things we got from Per and Marie, and some more stuff they’ve got up their sleeves hopefully to be given to us one day) spoil the joy of having them BACK...that’s all I’ve been waiting for since 2002!

I’m not changing my mind though - I’m still disappointed, but I can live with that, hoping the future releases will compensate for the box which has failed to live up to fans’ expectations.

So, stay safe everyone and rox on!

It is humanly impossible to please everyone. Let’s hope for the best and for new Roxette albums in the future.

I think that Per is right, and I’ll really do what he said. I won’t buy the Rox Box. But I’d never do what some fans are doing.

I think that if we are fans, we like Roxette.

Per Gessle doesn’t have to have our permission to do whatever he wants. If we didn’t like it, we don’t have to buy.

Geez Per seems miffed, nice of you to respond mate, but you had us dreaming of a killer Rox Box and pulled that dream from under us.

The least you could have done was when the tracklisting was revealed, made an announcement saying that “I know some fans won’t be happy with this tracklisting, but right now this is what we want to present to the world on our 20th anniverary, and hopefully some more demo’s and rarities will be released later”.

I’ll buy these releases becasue I’m a fan and a collector, and I’m exited roxette is entering a new phase, but mate you led us to belive there was more.

Dave

well done Per!
i agree with every single word he says. i will buy the Rox-box for sure and people who don´t wanna buy...just don´t do it!!
he says that he has received some emails with showing a “unpleasant attitude”... can´t believe it...if you are a real fan of Roxette, Per and Marie, how can´t you send that kind of messages to Per?
Anyway, i´m sure his fans will be glad with this box.
Here is writing a fan from Spain who will be really happy buying it

I think I’ll ’ditto’ Per, so...DITTO!
I really don’t know where some people get the idea that they are ’entitled’ to demo’s and songs that Rox did, but was never released.....even if they did buy the albums (some comments made me think that Rox owes them ’cause hey boaght the previous albums, but anyhow..)

If you allready have all the songs, and the nicities and/or don’t like it then don’t buy it...as simple as that.

I know I am ’stocking-up’... ;-P

I can’t believe that some people, so-called fans, actually send Per some ’unpleasant attitude’-filled messages....

...and then some still want to complain that they didn’t commit to their ’promise’..?

Sorry Per, but in some parts your answer is very unprofessional, e.g. “If you don’t like it, don’t listen to it and certainly don’t buy it!”. Tsss!
Of course it is your decision what to release and what not, but WE are the fans. WE bought your CDs and DVDs and WE made you big! WE made you stars! That was not done by yourself.
So please try to be a little more professional. After all those years you should know that many Roxette fans are fans from the heart. And sometimes, I agree with you, they come up with a very unpleasant attitide. But YOU are the star! YOU should be able to deal with that in a much more professional way.
Please don’t forget, that ROXETTE is not only YOU and MARIE, it also WE, the fans!!!

p.s. Boxes like the RoxBox are not Top100 things. They should be made for truelly fans and therefore should contain more than the songs we already have more than once. Bands like ABBA or Bon Jovi (I am not a fan of both of them) were able to to so. Why not Roxette? Per was saying a while ago, that Roxette has the best fans in the world. So this would have been the perfect time to “pay” something back.

Per is right ... “if u don’t want it ... don’t listen and don’t buy it”! So simple as this... and the rest is our problems not Per and Marie’s.

Jesus, when I read this Per comment I said to myself “my God, I wonder all the crap of sado-dramatic and suicidal heartbreaking furious complains about one ordinary Roxette release... he must have either laughed at it all or just stood there mouthopened trying to figure out if he was still living in this planet LOL”

How easily people forget the most important details: 20 years celebration, Marie’s comeback after a rush time since 2002. In the end, the greed is all for a bunch of remixes, demos (that Roxette have presented only as bonus for us over the years... but as Per said not meant to be released continuously) and for live tracks that might not even exist. Demos aren’t really to be heard for listeners, remixes are just for fun for a while but then later who cares, and live? Per never trully liked realising full length live concerts on CD so why would he now? LOL

We have to re-think our definition of being a fan ... and re-think well what drives us to feel fans of this band (nostalgia for the past? the guitars? the real drums? the #1 hits? .... doesn’t everybody know by now that times passes and changes everything, and I mean everything for real) otherwise I presume some of us here have been fooling themselves believing they were fans but constant anger towards every Rox moment does put a lot of question marks in the air...

As Per said ...”don’t listen, don’t buy it” and the problem is solved ... “have a nice day” (HAND? How ironic and guessing this was the real starter of all this insanity) LOL

hej everybody!

It is an increadable GREAT THING TO BE A FAN!
and it hurts a lot to be described as suicidal by your idol! so I DO NOT THINK THIS WAS FUNNY.
this whole discussion comes from a lot of misunderstandings, I won´t bother trying to bring some more in.

Even if we do not buy or buy an album, it is still Roxettes music we listen to and love!!!!

But the artists behind are not our friends, they are not supposed to listen to our wishes, they only make money.
and sometimes they have earned so much, that they can easily say:

“If you don’t like it, don’t listen to it and certainly don’t buy it!”

THIS SHOWS THE ATTITUDE. MONEY CHANGES YOU, it seems?!

i do agree with per...but one thing...i would like to hear more roxette live performaces!!!... would be great to have some in the Rox Box... :)

REMINDER: Please be aware of our decision posted on Page 9 of this comment section to limit any further comments on this article to letters from those readers we have not heard from before, who feel they still have something to say about Per’s message.

Those readers who wish to comment on what some other TDR subscriber has said here, may continue to do so in the Small Talk discussion about Per’s letter:
http://www2.dailyroxette.com/smalltalk/thread.php/16551 (Even though we feel that too has reached “ad nauseum” status).

This notice is to serve as explanation to a few readers who seem to have missed our previous notice, and whose recent posts here were therefore either edited or deleted. Our thanks to everyone who has cooperated. We appreciate all of you who are loyal subscribers to our little online newspaper.

I personally don’t know how anyone can be dissapointed with anything that Roxette puts out.
I love your last comment Per, “It’s a beautiful day out there. Enjoy it.”....

Yeah guys (& gals) chill out!!!

“If you don’t like it, don’t listen to it and certainly don’t buy it!”
–> There’s nothing to add. No one forces you to buy something just because it’s from your fave band, if you don’t like it.

But the fact you - Per - are commenting the fans’ disappointment, shows that you still care of the fans’ opinions, and that makes you very sympathetic.

Resi

I guess some of us reacted with a little angry. After a few days I came to accept that we have just one alternative: buy it or not. I understand what Per is saying, he’s right about 99% of what he says. But that last comment “If you don’t like it, don’t listen to it and certainly don’t buy it!”
is really not fair for fans like me who loved and support Roxette for almost 20 years. I don’t like that tracklist, anyway I will buy the rox box.

And dear Per, please next time don’t make that kind of comments to people who appreciate you, even if they don’t agree with you. It’s a little rude, and we only wanted more of your music because we love it, you can’t blame us ;-)

And I consider, that Per has not deserved such words in its address, he is free to act as he wants, he wrote always music as considered it necessary also you bought its disks, it liked you. And now he is too realesing, that considers it necessary and is valid he is right, this your business to buy or not, nobody forces you, and why he should obey some fans... Why he should consider, what they it is cleverer than it?! As one person has told: the life is too short to live another’s illusions! He lives himself ilussions and he’s right!

This is what i’m saying! someone started a thread anywhere on T.D.R. that says “no one should buy this box....” my prediction is right. roxette have read it! i wanna have that new album, honestly. if not because of that thread, per comment may not exist by now. Understanding the music industry, artists are releasing their compilation for ALL people, for THEMSELVES, and ofcourse for FANS. BUT, they will never release an album or songs that fans wanted or craved for it, per says.

YES!! we have freedom to do anything we wanted un less we are not violating the law. We are FREE to start a thread FREE, FREE, FREE!! Free to send an Email, comment, and what so ever... BUT.... We have to consider ones feeling. Free to give opinion BUT please consider someone who is involved.

I WAnna have their new compilations in my hands honestly..

Have a nice day!

Dear Per,

As a true fan for many, many years I am very disappointed because of the arrogant way in which your message is written. I’m also going to throw myself off a bridge now because I don’t like what is in the box.......
Lets be honest. It is easy to reach 20 years when you’re hardly don’t release any new records over the last 10 years (OK that is not totally true but hey, it wasn’t much). What has to be celebrated is the fact that all the fans are still here after 20 years listening to your music, even trying to appreciate your SOAP project, because we all miss Roxette so much.

You have lost a fan here.

Don´t you never forget folks, we´ve bought the records but no one can buy the artist!!! Enjoy the music ´cause that´s what it´s all about!

I was one of the fans that also disappointed with the ideas of releasing the greatest hits album again, the Rox Box list, even the cover of the sleeves. However, I know I don’t have control over Roxette, as roxette don’t have control on me either, so now I’m move on and accepted their decision. I am still gonna buy the album, because even though I prefer new album, but there are still some of the songs (demo) that I haven’t heard it yet. I still don’t like the sleeves, but some people seemed like it including my husband and he just couldn’t wait to see that in store. Also, I just realize that actually Roxette can just make desicion NOT to comeback anymore, and again there’s nothing the fans can do about it, but they decided to comeback, even giving us two NEW song (which I have been waited for years), so I think I should thank Roxette for that (and I still not forget how they music help me during my hard time, and of course I won’t ever met my husband if Roxette never exist). Also, I thank Per for taking time to tells us how he feels about OUR comment. I mean, he can just choose to ignore, but he didn’t, so that means, he still CARE about us. I understand that his comment sounds “rude”, but don’t forget fans comment often are often “over the top” too.

I think it’s the 4th (or even 5th) compilation that Roxette’s releasing, isn’t it too much?
I would prefer a cd with new songs...that would be really nice for all of us.

Arrogance has taken the better of Per it seems. I’m so disappointed in his attitude, everyone has the right to defend himself but honesty is the best policy: this box is not compiled for the fans, this box is compiled to fill the pockets. If Roxette really wanted to celebrate their 20th anniversary with their fans, they would have made a totally new album and/or DVD. So I won’t be buying this box (as I already have 90% of it several times) but I’m sure Per will not loosing his sleep over it.

Hej Mr. G. All my life, put my money in different rox items and i spent 4.500 euro in the magnifical room service tour (tallin, halsinki, karlstad, stockholm and gotenburg), i´ve voice, i´ve right to say i like or not, Tell mePer, you need a lot of money to buy another ferrari, you need a lt of money to another Tylosand Hotel , whats happend, All fans are a litle bit of roxette, please Per, DO WHAT YOU WANT , BUT HURT NO ONE, please a litle of respect for roxette fan

Hej Mrs. Marie If you want a big, a beautiful, an happy ending for roxette, and put all of you in plants and draws. you make a mistake.

3 DAYS 2 TRACK MMMM I SPEND MORE TIME IN PAINT MY BEDROOM

———————————————————–
rox box track list was a poor funeral for a big and dead pop group

rox box was a NOT NECESARY EUTANASIA

Thanks for your answer Per on this forum. The album is the choise of you and Marie. I think much fans, me inclus forgot that point. I hoped for more new songs and things, but I’m glad there are 2 new songs, and the long awaited DVD of the Unplugged concert. That numbers I listen most, so great.
Thanks for your great music.

ROX ON!

I don’t know in other places in this world, but here in Brazil we agree that an artist has the right to be the ’prime judge’ of his work.

We also understand that when a person interacts to the artist, it means that this fan likes his work and wants to be part of it.

’Interacting people’ are the kind of people who BUY YOUR CDs Per, so, try not to be so harsh and arrogant as you were when you said: ” If you don’t like it, don’t listen to it and certainly don’t buy it!”

Freedom of expression is the right of the artist, but it’s also the right of the fans, so... If you don’t like it, don’t be a singer and certainly don’t sell records.

But if you’re tired of your job...
It’s a beautiful day out there.
Enjoy it.

WHEEEEEEHOOOO!!! Guess who’s back after months of absence.. :-p
All of a sudden I felt the urge to look on Daily Roxette again, and what do I find?!

Short note upfront. I didn’t even bother to read ALL the previous 336 comments, so some of you might feel attacked, but if you’re good, then don’t worry; the following comment is then not meant for your ears. Only those who will comment fiercly on this are busted and are exactly the persons I’m aiming at. Ok here we go!!

337 comments in only 5 days.. a new record?!?? Damn.. this time I couldn’t resist the temptation to jump back on my writingchair, cause this is ublelievable!

You guys actually did it.. congrats!! You made in necessay for the artist himself(!!!) to defent his own work and choices regarding releases! I’m asking you, how sad is that?!?? (not for the artist, but for YOU!.. on the other hand, in some way for the artist as well: he got stuck with it..)

What the hell were you thinking? Practicaly CLAIMING a release of tracks and bits and pieces of YOUR liking and disrespecting the choice of the artist(s.. I dont forget Marie, don’t worry.. she’s still here) himself? It’s not some sort of jukebox you know.
You should absolutely be ashamed of yourself.. being a spoild brat and all. I totally agree with Per’s words. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it, but please stop this chlidish whining and shut up! Its utterly annoying for the artist(s) himself to see the unsatisfection over and over and over again. It really hurts being an artist and seeing your ´so called´ fans hitting on you BIG time. I mean, being unsatisfied is one thing. But then, stop terrorizing. ENOUGH = ENOUGH!

If you don’t agree with the choice of the artist(s) then leave it and go find yourself another idol. It’s as simple as that.. If you don’t like to blue sweater, then don’t buy the blue sweater. There’s no use in buying it and then wait untill it turns red or purple or whatever your favorite colour is.
You have to repect the artist(s) and respect their work because it’s HARD work and a lot of feelings and personal stuff is in that music. You can’t just command things. Please.. even the queen doesn’t have that power.
Cant you see it’s more or less a privelege when the artist(s) addresse a message towards you (personally or not)= ell.. this time you FORCED him to!
Jesus, you’ve really outdone yourselves this time..

Let’s say that we all agree to disagree!

There has been no new material for a long time and we all know why. But still everyone of us has been very patient and never said a word. We all agree this new release is just another GH and is that what we’ve been waiting for? 2 new songs are great by the way and I hope it will be the start of another 20 years.

Actually I don’t expect any new releases at all anymore.

grt.

GO GESSLE!!!!!!
Like I said before, I still think you’re sounding a bit like Dylan’s so called “fans” back in the....70th was it?
I will happily go to the record store & bye the Box when that day come, I think it’s very exiting! As always!
ROX 4EVER!!!!!!!!!!!
Pop on/ Speedo!

p.s. Per (& Marie) is the most giving & caring artist(s) that I know - and what do they get back?
You really should think about that.
And it’s NOT arrogance he shows - it’s pure honesty. Many of you REALLY need to change your attitude!

”...I’ve noticed, reading on my own and thru various mails, that some of you are unhappy, furious, hurt, suicidal...”

I don’t like saying this because I’m a fan, but I think that Roxette has been commiting suicide since some years ago. They have released a couple of albums that wasn’t that good and we have bought them anyway. They released GH after GH and we bought them anyway. Why? Becasue we support Roxette and we want them in the business. What would happen if we don’t buy their CDs? We would be saying goodbye to Roxette, and we don’t want that.

Childish behaviour? Yes, Per has shown that. And he was arrogant as well... or maybe he forgot, when he said “don’t buy it” that without us he would be there. We are thankful for the music he has shared with us all these years, but I think he should have thought better before writing what he wrote. At least, in my case, I am more disappointed by his words than by the RoxBox.

Hello:
I haven’t seen this comment until now. and I couldn´t believe my eyes when I red it.

First of all, I would like to say that Per is right in what he says.

Although I don’t agree with everything he says (among other things, I don’t think they are the only judges of their music). However, I support his final words.”If you don’t like it, don’t listen to it and certainly don’t buy it!”

For me, in spite of being a true Rox fan, I am critical. But I think that critics must be based , in everything be said. We are not children (to think as one) in order to act as if our Daddy were against some wish of ours.

And of course we must “put in on – the switch of our brain – before say something without thinking”.

I am quite sad because Per got angry. because I think our comments have gone too far, as spoiled children. although most of them are well thought and based some others show a great amount of irrationalality and stupidity.

i am not saying that i am affraid of per’s ungry , but it is sad the demostration we gave...i mean instead of being happy for marie´s recovery and the roxette return be started to demand without basement or knowlege of some issues, without been rational.

first of all ther are a lot of this material that most of us could get from internet but it DOESN´T mean that it is official. BOOTLEGS aren´t official...and the quality is rather good in most cases.

second some of the tracklist items are include for example at the ep from “the look of roxette” but it DOESN’T mean that most of us got it. it was an extrange edition not available for everyone.

it is true that there are some items wich are already included in several singles. but it DOESN’T mean that everyone have them. however at this point I must said that i am not happy about them to be included but neither am i going to forget the first i said.

when previously per said or “promise” rare stuff. he might have in mind something diferent than be expect .AN LEGAL OF COURSE!. the thing is that the word “rare” is a bit ambiguous taking into acount the cuantity of bootlegs that are spining arround us. i think this is the point at which everyting went out of control.

let me tell you that I am not blind , that I am not quite pleased about the track list, but itsn´t something to cry even. lets celebrate roxette return!!! and a colection box!!!....and that there are many of roxette fans who lives in SOUTHAMERICA, for example, that are looking forward to get it. as a mather of fact I beleive that we have to accept that we are not per and per is not us; and none of us are the recording company. After all the list isn’t so nasty.

So...as we said in Argentina. “dejense de joder!”. (Give Peace a Chance, to be more like it). Roxette is back whether we like how or not. For me that is all that matters!!!.

(please correct my bad english)

EDITOR’S NOTE TO UNREAL: I started to make corrections, but it takes a LOT of time... time that we don’t really have to spend. Your English actually is pretty good, and I suspect that if you had taken time to check you OWN work... you could have many many corrections yourself. Please use a capitol letter “i” when referring to yourself: “I am from Argentina,” for example. Copy the text into Word or some program that has spell check, and you’ll be just fine in the future. – LEO

NOTE FROM UNREAL: thank for your note lars. yes ! i have notice that I didn’t put on capitals my “I’es”. that is because I am lazzy. jejejej. however when I said “(please correct my bad english)” I would believe I ’ve put it right next to “irrationability”. Good observations indeed!.

I’m probably the only one who is totally satisfied!

There’s nothing really much to add. I’d just like to say that it seems a few fans were right in predicting fans’ reaction regarding Roxette releases. Remember, we had a thread about it in SmallTalk. I’m too lazy to find the link now :p But one fan was so right. He/she wrote that Roxette will release several releases and all the fans will be complaining about it.

I own all of their cd’s, a few singles, a few records, some laserdisks, dvd’s, video’s, shirts, whatever I can get my hands on. While I’m not thrilled with buying another greatest hits cd, (especially since I will have to import it since I’m sure the USA will not get a release for the box!) I’m still going to buy it. Why? Because I truley love this band, and I will continue to support them no matter what.

PS>> I found Per’s statement to be hillarious. ^_^

@Kathrin
You’re not the only one!!!!
I’m so so so satisfied :)

Maybe is not the “box of dreams” of europeans fans, but, sorry, here in “south world” (Brazil) there’s no singles and rare songs, so, for us is a Great Box!.

Ps: Of course, Per should be more polite with his fans.

You stole words off my tonge, mr. Gessle. I agree with you in every line. Can’t wait Rox Box, now I love it even more!

Box, okay, but that Box that Per describes, containing the Unplugged stuff (yay! XD) and demos, looks more interesting to fans. O_o

Any “i just like Roxette” person would probably choose “Dont bore us...” or the Albums instead of buying a huge azz Fanbox. Like, if that “på väg” box set would have been interesting to normal consumers. :/

Damn i just want a new Album.
