Now Thats What I Call Music

I loved these compilations as a kid, and have started collecting them on vinyl. So far have 1,6,8,13,14,15(first one with Rox on),16,18.
Weren’t they just the coolest compilations on earth? Such a time piece, as you go through tracklistings and go ’Wah?’ at some artists. I love them, but they make me feel old- NOW 13 came out around the time I was born (Autumn 1988), and now were on 60-something, how the hell did it happen?
Anyway, what does everyone else think of them?

Hey me likes ’em too... it’s a guilty pleasure actually! LOL!
BTW if anyone’s interested I have two extra copies of the South African Now 11 LP’s with Turn to me (Roxette) on them!!

I think over the years I seem to have managed to get most of them. Well I haven’t got them since the first one came out the same year I was born (1980). At HOME, we’ve got most of them!! Only missing a couple around the 20’s, and the last couple I haven’t bothered to buy.
But yeah, they were the coolest back in the 90’s, then they started bringing out Smash Hits Summer, The Box Hits, Fresh Hits bla bla bla but they were all the same. Still, only Now has lasted

I like the old school ones-80’s and 90’s ones.
UK Now 4 on CD is worth shedloads, apparently... cos its the first one on CD, and very rare to get hold of.
Never realised they had Now in SA- I now they have started American ones recently, but never thought anyone else.
Oh yeah., got Now 41 on tape for a birthday

The last compilation in which a roxette/gessle song was included was Now 4, with Do you wanna be my baby?

I avoid most of em because now it’s all that rap crap / hip hop trash, etc.
There’s almost no such animal as ’GOOD MUSIC’ anymore.
