Question about The Pop Hits + bonus

Hi:

I wonder if a version of 19 tracks on ONE CD was released somewhere. It’s the 15 tracks from the normal compilation plus the 4 tracks from the bonus EP all on one CD. Is that real?

I’d also appreciate a brief list of different “TPH” versions. This is what I know.

- Europe (1 CD version)
- Europe (2 CD version)
- Taiwan (2 CD version + poster + cardboard slipcase in chinese)
- Japan (1 or 2 CD?)
- Argentina (1 CD version)
- Brazil (1 CD version)
- Australia (1 CD version)
- South Africa (1 CD version)
- Canada (1 CD version, I guess)

Yes, I have The Pophits album with 19 tracks on one cd. It does include the four bonustracks but there is no extra cd.

Yes, there is a 19 track CD made in Holland as a limited edition. Also the Japanese edition (the one I know about at least... maybe there are more?!) have 19 tracks on one disc.

Otherwise apart from those you list I only know about the following:

- Thailand (1 CD - 15 songs)
- Russia (1 CD - 15 songs)

Then there’s also a non copy protected CD where the discs (with bonus disc) are actually made in Sweden and some MCs from different places.

About Russian and Ukrainian releases. This is 2 different releases. At first - different co-partners of EMI in our countries (their logos near the logo EMI), different languages (btw - the Ukrainian and Russian have the BIGGEST difference. Only the most common thing - the cyrillic symbols. that’s all. The Ukrainian is the near Poland. And we can understand each-other (Ukraine-Poland). Russians understand Ukrainian a little. )
And many other small diferences... better one time to view...
And the biggest difference of Ukrainian BH and PH (not from Russian only, from all this releases over the world) - another image of CD. (As for Ukrainian Room Service - this one have slightly another image too).

PS Can’t see any “the same” Russian and Ukrainian releases about 5 years. This term Ukraine has independent music market and all releses for each band, singers are different.

PPS DHT ” LTYH” Album Ukrainian release also exist.

This one doesn’t exist - it is 15 track cd without copycontrol.

All those Taiwanese releases are the same. You can’t say it’s a different release because the sleeve looks darker or lighter.

I believe there are no more than 20 issues of TPH in the world. Bootlegs doesn’t count either.

I don´t remember that I had seen The Pop Hits (11 Tracks), CD, U.K. , EMI/5821572, 11 Tracks, 2003, Official but now I come up that I had seen it on www.eil.com and has heard about it. I know there is CD, U.K. , (I don´t know the catalog number on this release but I´m very sure that it is Roxette Recordings/5821552), 15 Tracks, 2003, Official.

It´s quite stupid to say that one Roxette & Related item several Roxette & Related items doesn´t do exist because there are so very many Roxette & Related items. If you collecting details and exactly all other things on Roxette & Related releases and issues that I do you can find about that many that´s sold but most issues. Mostly on the sleeve with the colours but on all the other things on the item/items too but not that much.

of The Pop Hits aren´t the same. I haven´t said that they are different releases but they are different issues. There are so much more than 20 releases and issues of The Pop Hits in the world. As I say to many people when they say that that/these Roxette & Related item/items doesn´t do exist:

Earth, sorry. But a darker/lighter sleeve doesn’t make a different issue/release. That depends of the quantity of ink in the printer, that’s not intentional. Of course, the first batch could be darker, because the printer was full of ink. When the ink is running out probably the booklets look a bit lighter. But as I long it has the same catalogue number, it’s the same issue. Same happens to newspapers and magazines, books, even clothes. If a book has a slightly darker cover, it doesn’t mean it’s a different edition at all.

So, there is only one Taiwanese version. And that’s in fact the double European release, repackaged in a slipcase in Chinese. It also includes a miniposter. And that’s all, there are not 2500 editions of that. Do you think in Taiwan they would bother to release so many editions of the same CD?

Regarding the Argentinian issue, the CD was made in Europe (as you can read EMI UDEN, and 1-1-2 NL near the hole). Only the label was printed here, with the copyright facts in Spanish. Same applies for the DVD “Ballad and Pop Hits”.

The Argentinian promo you listed has the same catalogue number as the commercial version. So, it’s exactly the same. Maybe it has a sticker that says “Promocional - No a la venta” (Promotional - not for sale). I don’t know ’cause I don’t have it. But it doesn’t make a different release either. I don’t think the local EMI made a special promo for that compilation, because TPH was not promoted here in any way.

@Earth: If you say that brighter and darker sleeves are different releases then you should buy all the records that are produced! I am sure you can’t find tiny differences on where the print is and how it is cut as well as the colour differences. And what if a CD has been lying in a display window for a week. Then it is guaranteed lighter that the rest of the CDs that came in the same batch. That must mean (according to your theory) that it becomes a new release then.
Why should the CD be released without an OBI in Taiwan by the way? As far as I know they have to have a OBI when they are new.
So I say as Room_Service: Get real!!

The one with soft inner sleeve is another issue according the one with hard inner sleeve and they have the same catalog number. There is not only 1 Taiwanese version of The Pop Hits.

They are not the same. They makes a different release.

Just if EMI isn´t make a release of The Pop Hits without OBI-Strip another one can make it. I count exactly all Roxette & Related releases, issues, item/items, writing them on my Roxette & Related lists (that have become very big) that´s not do exist in the company´s archive over the world (the ones that other ones do like for example put a white inner sleeve instead of the real inner sleeve that was in the inner sleeve case from the beginning as diferent releases, issues, item/items). Even the ones that´s made by company/companies but I don´t make own Roxette & Related releases, issues, item/items my self.

You are wrong when you are saying they don’t release a version with OBI and another version without OBI. The company wouldn’t do that.

Why wouldn´t they do that?

There are releases and issues of Marie Fredriksson albums, Per Gessle albums, Roxette albums, The Lonely Boys Albums that´s without OBI-Strip that´s made in Asian contries. I´m so very sure that EMI have made it and I know 100% that other peoples have made it.

Yes I buy exactly everything with Roxette & Related. I always see differences on Roxette & Related item/items. That becomes a new issue/release for me.

And don’t show me a photo of the ordinary version WITH A CHEAP STICKER cause that’s not a promo version either. RS, TBH and TPH were not promoted here. EMI didn’t put any effort in that. So, no promotional version were released. The fact you find this item listed in a website doesn’t prove anything.

D) I am not talking about ASIAN versions, I am talking about Japan. Japanese CD’s ALWAYS have a OBI. They didn’t release any version without OBI. So, if I throw the OBI of my Japanese “Room Service” album to the trash I can say I have the version with no OBI. It’s possible other Asian issues (Thailand, Korea) don’t include an OBI, in that case it’s totally normal.

E) You take the info from different sources, that info it’s not totally accurated sometimes. You said there was TPH version with only 11 tracks ’cause you read that in eil.com. It was totally wrong. So, don’t take the info you find in the web as 100% reliable and certain.

F) Don’t say Roxette/related/items/releases/issues/company/companies/Roxette & related so many times because it’s hard to understand what you are saying.

Oh, and have you realised the booklets are never stapled in the very same way and position? :-D

Sorry but this with the light, medium and dark colour is ridiculous, but thanks for the laugh :-D

How many Times do I have to say this the POP HITS Taiwanese release is MANUFACTURED in Taiwan! The Ballad Hits Release is the EU Version.

I can provide pictures to prove this. but the fact that it says made in taiwan on the disc, well is pretty self explanitory.

Personally, I’ll only buy a different edition if it has:

A. A Different Serial Number.

B. Different Booklet, [Matte or glossy]

C. Has extra Tracks or Cd, [e.g HAND + 3]

D. Has a Substantially Diferent Cover, Layout/Design, Comes in a Slip Case Or has an OBI Strip.

E. If It’s a Promo.

Any other Reasons? Let us Know.

@Room_service: You are wrong about something. Acually there is a real argentinean promo of Room Service. It has a legend PRINTED on the disc and backcover that says “PROMOCIONAL - Prohibida su venta” or something like that. I had it in my hands.
I have also been told that there is a real TBH promo with the same lengend printed on the disc, and I believe that since there are lots of argentinean promos with that legend.
I’ve never seen a TPH promo, but I have an argentinean promo compilation (SN: CDDif 393) that includes Opportunity nox.
